Chapter Forty-Six
"It's your turn." I groaned, my face was currently smooshed in my pillow. The babies won't stop crying. They are in the room across the hall from us. It is a temporary nursery until we either move out or finish a nursery in this house.
"If it's a diaper change I'll do it, but I think they are hungry, and I don't think my." He motioned at his chest. "Will cut it."
I gave him a really look before scooting out of bed with him. I opened the door and nearly got hit with a lamp that was flying across the room.
"Stop it." I groaned walking over to Lydia.
Octavia was hysterically crying, Lydia was giggling and James had little tears running down his puffy cheeks. I picked up Lydia and sniffed by her bottom.
"Diaper." I chuckled evilly at Lincoln causing him to groan.
I lifted up James and sniffed. Holy guacamole, what have we been feeding these kids.
I placed him back in the crib before picking up Octavia. I sniffed her diaper but it smelled fine. I rocked her in my arms trying to calm her down.
"It's okay, Shh, Shh." I cooed softly.
Lincoln moves Lydia over to the changing table and I walked over to the rocking chair we had in here, and just continued to rock Octavia in my arms. What was going on with her? I raised my hand to her forehead and felt to see if she was running a fever, but she felt fine.
"Do you think we should take her to see Lana?" I asked Lincoln glancing up at him. He stopped what he was doing and walked over to us looking at Octavia.
"I'll mind-link her." He told me. Poor Lana she is always being called for us in the middle of the night.
Lincoln walked back to the changing table and finished changing James. Once he was back in his crib we walked out carrying Octavia with us. She was in a onesie with pink polka dots on it and a little hat with bear ears on it.
Lincoln took her from my arms and sat down on the couch with her. I grabbed a bottle of milk from the fridge that I pumped yesterday for her and brought it over to them. He put the bottle to her lips but she wasn't drinking it.
I grabbed her binkie from the kitchen island and tried to get it in her mouth, which only resulted in it falling onto Lincoln's lap. A knock sounded at the door and I rushed over. Lana stood at the door in her pajamas, but holding all of her medical supplies.
"What's going on?" She asked walking into the living room, hearing the hysterical cries.
"We just want you to take a look at her, she has been crying for a while, and we can't figure out why." I told her. She put her stethoscope over her chest as she listened to her breathing and heart.
"Maybe she had a bad dream, her heart rate is up but everything sounds okay." She told me.
"Do you think there is a way that I can see what she's seeing?" I ask her. She just shrugs, unsure.
I placed my hand on Octavia and felt myself go inside her mind. Flashes of wolves fighting each other filled my vision. As the vision moved along I began to realize that this fight was on our pack lands. Was this the rogue army? Dead wolves lying around everywhere, as more and more filled in from the borders.
I gasped as I was brought back to reality.
"there is no way that, t..that was a bad dream. It was a war at our pack borders." I said my eyes still wide from shock.
"She's seeing visions? She's just a newborn." Lincoln frowned looking down at our crying baby in his arms.
"Thank you Lana, you are dismissed." Lincoln said shaking her hand. She walked out the door and Lincoln and I looked at each other.
"Rosa needs to become our number one priority now as a pack." I told him.
"Can you try talking to the moon goddess again?" He asked me.
"It doesn't work like that, I can't just call her she has to start it." I groan.
"Lets keep Octavia with us tonight. That way James and Lydia won't wake up." I told him. He just nodded and carried her up the stairs in front of me. We brought her crib into our room and set her up next to our bed. I placed her binkie back into her mouth as her cries turned into even breathing.
Lincoln and I have each other looks and tip toed into bed, careful not to wake her up.
Right when my head hit the pillow I heard crying coming from the other room. I think I internally just died.
Lincoln and I both glance at each other before scooting out of bed. Octavia was out like a light which made it easier for us to leave.
James was crying and diapers were literally floating across the room. Great just what we need right now.
I walked over to James and picked him up out of his crib. He was grabbing at my shirt with his little hands. I handed him to Lincoln so I could go get the bottles I had in the fridge. I pulled open the fridge and grabbed the nearest bottle. I was about to walk up the stairs when someone grabbed me and slammed me to the ground. I winced in pain and rose my hand sending the person flying. There was a group of five people surrounding me in the kitchen. I got into a defensive stance. Prepared to attack them.
I heard people running down the stairs. Erin, Jake and Lincoln. They all shifted midway down the stairs charging at the masked people.
Half of them raised their guns and the other half shifted into their wolves. I used that as my chance. I froze them all in place. I held my hands out not letting them move in the slightest.
I snapped all but one of their necks, their dead bodies falling to the floor with a thud. They all shifted back, all of them naked. Lincoln grabbed the blankets off of the couch and tossed one of them to Erin and Jake, who wrapped it around themselves. Jake wrapped his arm around Erin as Lincoln angrily walked in front of the infiltrator.
"What is your name?" He asked with an oddly calm voice.
"I'm not telling you anything." He opened his mouth widely but before he could do anything else Lincoln grabbed his face yanking his mouth open. He stuck his entire hand into this guys mouth yanking something out along the way.
"Had a feeling that this fucker would have one of these." He said twirling the little capsule in his hand.
"Jake and Brielle take him to the dungeon. Erin come with me I need your help. Brent is with the babies right now, guarding them." Lincoln said noticing the look of concern on my face.
I nod and walk out controlling the intruders every move towards the dungeons. We opened the doors and made our way there.
"You are making a big mistake." He Snapped when we opened his cell.
"And how is that?" Jake growled.
"She will come for all of you." He growled.
