I have seen death before, after all I am a detective, but I have never seen such a despairing site in my life. My friend, Lilith Okumara, was lying dead in my cottage. I only knew two things. One, I was not the killer, and two, it was another close friend that she was brutally murdered by. Sixteen of us were trapped on this deserted and ruined island forced by another person to kill each other just for their own amusement. Now here I am facing the fact that although we all had agreed to try and get off this island without any of us dying, Someone betrayed us.

                      The Mastermind, as we like to call them, told us that in order for the person who committed murder to leave they had to not be voted out in a trial. It was that or receive punishment, little did we know that the punishment would be an execution. We conducted an investigation and then it was time. We were directed to the old ruins, where there was an elevator that would take us to the trial room. It was the longest elevator ride in my life.

                       We entered the trial room that emitted so many grim feelings. There were podiums arranged in a circle one having a memorial for my lost friend Lilith. A judge chair sat behind the podiums looming over where we would take our places. I took my place at the podium with my name on it only to find when I looked up Lilith's memorial is right across from me. It was almost unbearable for me, but I knew standing here was the only way I could avenge her. With that we started the trial.

                        I honestly thought I wouldn't make it being the main suspect but we found the true murderer, Lily Miazaki. I can't even describe how gruesome and painful her execution was, mainly due to the fact that I was enjoying it. I was definitely surprised that I felt that way afterwards, but I have come to accept that I enjoy seeing others in pain or despair. The way that I learned that was there were more murders and executions. Rina Plisetsky was murdered by Zia Kuzuryu, Kib and Kimi Kuwata by Sharafina Corundum, Kanna Kurusu by Marnie Ashido, and Byakuya Naegi by Izuru Kamakura. The only ones remaining were me,Tetsuya Idabashi, Aria Soul, Echo Shade and her twin brother Erin Shade.

                        Tetsuya insisted that we have one last trial to figure out the true identity of the Mastermind and force them to set us free. I agreed to the plan only because I wanted to find the Mastermind. What I truly wanted was to help and join the Mastermind in the end so I could bring more of the despair to others. We went into the small elevator once more to reach the only slightly larger trial room. We took our stands and presented the evidence that would force the Mastermind to reveal themselves, and show themselves they did. Junko Enoshima, the Mastermind, was just like me. The only difference was she openly expressed herself.

                           She was what others would call insane, crazy, or even mentaly ill, but to me she was perfectly sane. I have finally come to understand why she put us here, to make us feel the oh so wonderful despair. When Junko announced one final vote to see if she would either kill us all or live and have her die were only one person voting different than having her die meant her killing us all instead I knew what to vote. Everyone except for me voted to kill Junko. Before Junko could even express her joy I asked her that instead of me dying I become her partner in crime to bring despair all over the world. I was elated when she said yes. I joined her up on the judge's chair and watched the rest of the people I had called friends go through painful, slow, gruesome, despair inducing executions one at a time. It was clear to me that the only true friend I could have was Junko Enoshima, and I guarantee she thought the same about me, Shuichi Oma.
