You Fell Asleep in My Car
A/N: Hey! Congratulations that you've made it this far (kid)! I hope you guys have enjoyed it. Has my chapter title messed with anyone else? I always have to pause after I read "my."

The drive to the hospital is only about ten minutes, which is ten minutes too long for me. Jenna insisted on me going home, even though I told her I'd be fine sleeping in her hospital room. What she doesn't realize is sleeping in her presence was the best sleep I've had in a long time. And I had just taken a short nap while I was there yesterday. Is that a weird thing?
I turn into the hospital parking lot and park. Checking in, I take an elevator up to Jenna's room: 21 on floor D. Pushing the door open, I see Jenna already awake and dressed in some clothes that her mother brought her. She turns her head toward me, her smile beaming brighter than the sun.
"Are you ready to go?" I ask.
She nods eagerly, like a little kid. I grin and offer her my arm. We walk down the hall and climb into the elevator, and I punch the ground floor button. There's the usual lurch of the descent, which I'm used to. However, my eyes widen when I see Jenna hold her head in her hands and pant, leaning against the wall. The doctor warned me that her brain would make every-day things seem unnatural. He said it would be temporary, about seven to ten days at most.
Jenna's head jerks up in my direction, her blue eyes wild. "It's moving," she whispers. "Why is it moving!?"
I put my arm around her shoulders and squeeze. "This is how we get down to the ground. From there, I'll take you to my car and you'll be at your house. It'll be okay. We're completely safe. Just breathe."
Jenna nods and takes a few deep breaths. "Thank you."
"No problem," I say just as the elevator hits ground level.
We get out to my car and I open the passenger door for Jenna. She thanks me and I bow, then walk around to the other side and climb in. The engine starts and we're off. The morning traffic outside the hospital is bad, so we have to sit a few minutes. I start to say something when I'm cut off by a small snore. I glance over and see the blonde girl next to me already out, her head lolling against the headrest.
I smile to myself as I turn my head back to the traffic. She looks cute asleep. Well, she looks cute awake, too.
Why are you thinking that? Haven't I told you that she has a boyfriend!? my inner person says.
You're right, I silently say back to my inner person.
Of course I am, Convince me otherwise it would take all night. That's the reason for your insomnia. You're always trying to prove me wrong to no avail.
"Shut up," I mutter, pounding the steering wheel. The traffic starts moving and I finally make it to the edge of town. I pass the music store and think back to how excited I was when I first saw Jenna, the girl in the picture.
My car suddenly jerks downward then back up. I forgot about the rough pothole that's on the route to her house.
I grit my teeth."Why can't the government actually use our taxes for something good for a change!?" I breathe a sigh of relief as I see that Jenna is still resting peacefully. I do my best to avoid the remaining holes the rest of the short ride home.
I hate to wake up Jenna, so I settle with carrying her inside the quaint, yellow house. Mrs. Black whispers a hello and shows me to her daughter's room, where I lay her on her bed, tucking the covers around her. Her room is quite nice. The walls are a shade of pink and she has a window seat that overlooks her backyard. A small cork board has been hung over her dresser, which is across from her bed. I see pictures and various papers on it. A desk sits in the corner with a few boxes surrounding it. She must not have finished unpacking yet.
Turning back to the sleeping person, I brush a stray hair off of Jenna's face and plant a kiss on her forehead before I go. Then, I descend the carpeted stairs and say farewell to her mom.
I climb inside my car as a thought comes into my mind.
I think I'm starting to fall for this girl.
