The Ex
You felt a bit nervous about riding in the truck with the guys. Akali was in another car with Jinx and Xayah. That left you with Kayn, Rakan, and Ezreal.
Kayn: So, Y/N, how old are you again?
Y/N: Uh, 17.
Kayn: For real? Man. Kali's really robbing the cradle these days.
You raised a brow confused only to get nudged by Ezreal. He leaned over and whispered to you.
Ezreal: Kayn and Kali used to be together. They broke up about a year ago.
Kayn was Akali's ex? You thought back to remember if you had seen him in any of her posts. You think you would've remembered seeing someone with such a noticeable birthmark.
Y/N: Uh, where are we going?
Rakan: The local landing. It's a bar and restaurant. They have stuff like pool and corn hole and other shit. You like pool?
Y/N: I've never played pool before.
Ezreal threw an arm around you with a wide smile.
Ezreal: Don't worry about that one, kiddo. I'll show you the ropes.
You just smiled back.
Guess you could allow yourself some fun.
The
Traveler
You followed the guys into the old building. It was decorated with an old rusty decor with bar lights and the smell of booze and smoke in the air. But, maybe it was because it was mixed with other smells, it wasn't too bad.
You spotted the pool table in a back room as well as a dart board. There was also an old arcade hunting game in the corner.
Rakan: Who wants a drink?
Ezreal: You know what I like.
Kayn: The same.
Rakan: Got it. Y/N?
You turned to the older boy and nodded.
Y/N: I'll take whatever.
Rakan: Choices!
Y/N: I choose whatever! I don't know what this place has.
Rakan narrowed his eyes at you for a moment, before he smiled.
Rakan: Got ya. Be back in a whistle.
Rakan headed towards the bar while Kayn let out a whistle. He chuckled at his joke before he turned back to you.
Kayn: So, kid, you're still in school?
You nodded as he lead you and Ezreal to a table. You took a seat across from the long haired boy as he smiled.
Kayn: So, you're a senior?
Y/N: Yeah. I'm in my last year.
Kayn: Shit. That's the hardest year. You know what you want to do when you get out?
You shook your head. You honestly weren't expecting to get this far. Ezreal just slapped a hand on your back.
Ezreal: That's alright. No one ever really knows what they want to do. We all have dreams, but that doesn't mean they always come true.
Kayn: Yeah. Besides, you're young. You have plenty of time to figure it out. People think that the end of highschool is the deadline. That's not always the case.
You looked at the two of them for a moment. Were they speaking from experience?
Before you could ask, Rakan returned to the table and took a seat next to Kayn. You looked back over to the bar to see the bartender preparing your drinks.
Rakan: So, Y/N, you play darts?
You slowly began to smirk.
Y/N: Yeah, actually. I do.
--------------
By the time the girls showed up, you were already in the middle of a game of darts against Rakan.
Akali watched as your dart soared through the air before it stuck right on the bullseye.
Rakan: Damn. How do you keep beating me?
You spun your dart around your fingers with a grin.
Y/N: I have a dartboard in my room. I have plenty of practice.
Kayn and Ezreal just cheered for you from the table with their drinks. Rakan had went ahead and gotten you a soda since you couldn't drink yet. Though, Kayn did offer to buy you something with alcohol if you wanted.
You were suddenly pulled from your victory by a pair of arms that wrapped around you from behind. You looked over your shoulder to see a familiar hat.
Akali: What's going on here? Are you being mean to my buddy?
Rakan: More like he's being mean to me. I've lost three games already.
Xayah walked over to him and placed a hand under his chin.
Xayah: Aw, poor baby. You know what will make you happy? Buying me a drink.
Rakan: How will that make me happy?
Xayah: Because then I'll be happy.
The two just smiled each other before they shared a kiss. Rakan threw an arm around her waist and they headed to the bar. You just set the extra darts down on the table while Akali let go of you.
Akali: Who got the drinks?
Kayn: Rak.
Jinx: Oh, shit. Rak! Wait up!
Jinx hurried along to get her drink while you and Akali headed to the table. You sat down but Ezreal tapped the table.
Ezreal: You ready to learn how to play pool?
You looked over at the pool table to see that it was open. You shrugged and followed him over. Akali watched as you picked up a pool stick while Ezreal got the balls.
Kayn: So, where did you find him?
Akali looked back to the only one left. She rested her chin on her hand before she smiled.
Akali: The woods.
Kayn smirked as he crossed his arms.
Kayn: Of course. He seems like a good kid. I like him. He's a bit reluctant when it comes to choices, though.
Akali: Yeah, well, no one's perfect. Besides, he's still only 17.
Kayn: That's fair. I guess we're all flawed in our own way. Even little miss celebrity.
Akali began to laugh. Even if they did break up, they were still good friends. There was never any bad blood between any of them. It was just the way things were.
Akali: I hope he gets along with everyone. He really is a fun person to be around once he opens up.
Kayn: I can tell. He kicked Rak's ass three times just now. No mercy. I love it.
Akali looked over at the pool table just as you hit the first ball in. Ezreal congratulated you, before he took his turn. You watched with an increasingly worried look as he knocked every single ball in with no effort.
You had so much to learn.
Kayn: Uh, did you tell him about the poker thing?
Akali: I taught him how to play. He should have fun tonight.
You had no idea what was to come.
