Chapter Three
The second door leads me to an open field, a training ground I've never seen not even when I was in Di Hipsodat. The ground is covered in what looks like a golden sand but it isn't sand because it's thicker, bigger like pebbles but not as big as pebbles. The golden ground is stained with blood and ahead are the warriors training.
There are seven teams of trainees and seven trainers. Each team is spread across the side of the field. The first team I see is training in sword fight and when I say sword fight, they are fighting each with their trainers watching with his hands behind him, his legs spread slightly wide. The training is intense because they aren't fighting to learn or avoid being hurt, each warrior is wielding the sword with the intention of killing. Now the blood stains on the ground make sense.
The second team is practicing with bow and arrow. They are columed up in five with other people lined up behind the first, the target is very far and I doubt anyone can make the shot, which surprises me when I see them holding not one arrows but four. I watch the front line release their arrows at the command of their trainer, the arrows flies from their hold and go straight for the target. They all hit bullseye. The target changes, bending to face the sky. The front line arranges another set of arrows to the bow and aim them up before releasing them. This one is a bit tough because not all of them hit the target and only one of them hit bullseye. The rest of them that didn't get any hits set aside while the one that hit goes stand behind the trainer.
I look away from the second team to the third team who are kneeling. Wait what? What sort of training is...?
Anyone else knows the words 'spoke too soon' I just did that but in my case it was thought. I thought too soon. My eyes just drifted to their side I didn't concentrate until they begin to make choking and straining sound. They aren't kneeling because they want to, some are clenching their heads and stomach. Some are bleeding from their eyes, nose while other are vomiting.
What sort of training is this?
"You can't bring that out here, El-Laura-El!" An angry tone says which makes me look away from the poor warriors to the man that spoke. He is the swordsmen trainer and he looks pissed at–
I follow his gaze to where Lurytendra is standing beside me. When did she get here? I didn't even notice her.
She looks like she did in the first memory I visited, not a day older than five.
If one isn't watching her clearly they won't know she's inflicting the pain on those poor saps. Although I have seen her used this on someone when I met her in Di Hipsodat and she was able to take away my voice without thinking twice, that is something. And now the look on her face is too cruel and too wicked for a child. Her lips are tip up in an evil smirk and it's making me shiver with fear. The movement of her fingers that she's hiding behind her confirms that she's the one doing it.
"Why not?" She stops, dropping her hands behind her. She is confident and her words are clear. Listen I don't know anything about growth in Di Hipsodat but if she was on Earth she won't have started Kindergarten, that is how small she looks. "You boys won't let me train with you and I want to play."
Discrimination on Di Hipsodat is worse than it is on Earth especially amongst the royal family. The dad already said in the previous memory that he would take her to the best warriors to train and these blockhead won't even teach her. She should have melt the trainers brain instead of the trainee.
The bleeding boys causes the rest to stop training while some goes to them, the rest are flanking their trainers as they approach her.
"We won't let you train because you are an abomination. Nobody wants you, not even your own father. He didn't give you the Heir or Princess title because you are such a disgrace to the High Landers. Your birth murdered our Queen, you don't deserve to train, you deserve to die and since El won't like that, we won't do anything but do something like this to my boys again and you will regret it."
Harsh. I was right, she just melt their brain. Such soulless fools, how can they speak to a five year old like that.
"Is that supposed to faze me?" My mouth drops open at her. Oh my God! Who is this girl? If someone said those to me now, I would spend at least two days crying and a month sulking like an injured animal because they just wounded my pride but she isn't feeling it. No wonder Dean calls her unfeeling, words doesn't even affect her.
"You all have something to lose but I don't. You can keep talking badly about me and I will not spare your lives or you apologize sincerely and I might think about letting you keep all your body parts." Now, this sounds like someone adult Laura would say but damn she's got the attitude since she was a kid. I guess it's true what they say, people don't change but they sure develop because she is a force of nature that has evolved.
"Leave now and never return. I will personally tell El that we can't teach you anything. You're rude, selfish and have no respect."
Laura takes a step forward, the man doesn't move from where he's standing, he isn't afraid of her and I think that infuriates her more than his words. "It as if you didn't hear me clearly, General. Beg me for forgiveness and I might think about letting you live, or I will tear you apart limb from limb that your family will hear your scream as I kill you slowly. Honestly it should be your honor to have me here, to train me because I have nothing to learn from you, I only come here to see if you will train me but you never do, all you do is talk and talk about me. Personally I don't mind the talk, people has been saying bad things about me since my birth but when you blame me for your Queen's death, how do you expect me to feel? When you tell me to die? How do you think that makes me feel? I'm giving you one last chance, beg me for forgiveness and I will not do much damages to you."
So the man is the General of the army. Damn, this girl's got some mouth on her but seriously they are both at fault here The General is a douchebag that thinks females aren't supposed to train, I look around the field to see if there are any female warriors, they are none. It's Dihipian rule but I don't think there's a rule that says anything about being a blabbing idiot to a five year old, a girl he just witnessed trying to kill his warriors. If he was me I'd run but he wants to make a point and I know it's going to get him killed.
As for Laura, no one like a mouthy kid especially one that thinks she's better than everyone. I don't know what she's facing in her personal life but I can tell from what I've heard that her father doesn't regard her as the princess or his daughter. She wants to belong somewhere and they rejected her and the General made his hatred for her clear. She's a kid and when kids are upset they throw tantrum, that's how I know she'll kill him. She might be different from the other kids I know and I've met but she was trying to hold her anger in even though she was trying her best not to show it, it's only a matter of time before she burst.
"Leave and never come back, get out of he–! He doesn't finish his sentence when Laura holds her hand up and curl her fingers up in a fist, he stops talking or rather he's choking on his words. His fingers goes wrap around his throat, opening his mouth to breathe. His face his getting pink, his eyes getting red, veins showing on his forehead.
He falls on his knees and hold his hand out towards her. "Eventually on you're begging on your knees but you should have taught about that before–" even I don't know where the arrow comes from but someone released an arrow which goes straight to her throat. The person shoot to kill.
She releases her fingers and moves her hands gently to her throat. The general results to a coughing fit, spitting out blood. He'll be fine but Laura, I don't know. The arrow is in her throat.
She falls down without struggling. The guys comes over to check her. "Is she dead?" One of them asks.
"Who released that arrow?"
"Who shot at her? If she's dead we'll all be in trouble!"
"She's bleeding."
I see the black blood trailing down the corner of her mouth. Oh shit, is she dead? No, she can't be, if she's dead then I wouldn't be alive.
The next thing I know is screams, I look around in confusion, what is happening? The guys gathered around Laura are–something is happening to them. At first it's going pale and next is their body dessicating before the finally disintegrate. All of them. Ever single one gathered around her and that's not all, as soon as the body disintegrates, something leaves the ashes a black ray of lights and goes into her likes she just suck the lives out of them.
Her eyes snaps open, it's all black, darkness glistening inside them. Something levitates her, she isn't the one because her body is still in a slump position until she's midair when she spread herself and holds out her hands for the rest of them running, they stop and turns back like they're being controlled. One looks at her and they're gone.
I don't understand why are they dying like this. What's happening?
All the dark ray goes into her and she's welcome them, which makes the markings on her body glow. She drops to the ground after absorbing everything, the ground cracks at her impact. She fainted. Well no one can take that much souls and not faint, I'm still not sure if it's the their souls she's absorbing or know what caused them to die.
I wait for the memory to kick me out like it did with the first one but it doesn't which means what I'm here to see isn't done. I'm starting to get that each memory hold something dear of Laura trapped, I just don't know why I'm here.
Moment later two people approach, one holding a bow and arrow. Laura's father and The High Priestess watches the damages she's done and come to her.
"Great shot, My Liege." Gaea says to the King as she bends to remove the arrow from her throat. She doesn't wake or move as the arrow was being pulled out.
"It is as I feared Gaea, even her blood is lethal, just look at what she did with her blood." So her blood did this, killed them. "I know what you're going to say but I can't kill her now, we know she has value. Is there a way to contain these powers? A way to keep them from doing more damage."
Gaea sighs and looks at her king before giving a hesitate nod. "I've been doing some research on the person who El-Laura-El is prophecize to be and there's a way."
"What is the way?"
"With each death her blood kills, her body soaks in their souls. The souls will destroy her until we take them out."
"How?"
"The Golden Water, the water that heals all wound and brings the dead back to life, but it claims a part of their soul. If we bind El-Laura-El to the water, it will take part of her soul."
"That will not contain her powers."
"It will if we split them into other being, Dihipians."
"You are talking about binding her with The Golden Water and other people after she's already bonded with Azra and Elsword. Is that a little too much?"
"I didn't say it would be easy but that's what we've got, if we don't do anything she is going to kill all of us. So I ask you again, why did you let her live when you should have ended her existence before she drew her first breath?"
"I lost my mate, I can't lose the only thing left I have of her."
The memory crashes and pushes me out, so I'm back in the common room with doors.
"Right."
