All this time I've wondered what she looked like and I never once imagined she'd look like this.
There aren't much difference between Dihipians and human, they look the same, exactly the same. I'm not sure what their biology is or if theirs is different from ours but seeing my grandmother now just confirms what everyone has been saying about how much we look alike.
If we were on Earth I'd say she is from a line of the Greeks and French but I know better. She doesn't look a year older than thirty, which is saying something because Damian is thirty thousand Dihipian years and my grandmother is older than him by a lot.
Her straight jet black hair hangs down her shoulder and if I wasn't looking I would've notice the difference between hers and mine. Hers are mostly separated than together, each strands of hair can be seen if looked at clearly by it can easily pass a chunk of hair. Her dark eyebrows are thick and the dark rings surrounding her eyes aren't from lack of sleep or makeup, I don't know what it is. Her icy blue eyes rivals mine. Her nose is straight and pointed and her lips are pink and thin. Her cheeks are almost none existence with her high cheek bones. She is beautiful even through her wicked gaze, she is pretty.
Straight up, she doesn't look like the woman I've heard stories about. She feels like a imposter if I was comparing her looks to the horrors I've heard. But people don't go around sticking 'i'm a villian' on their forehead. I just saw her kill a man without breaking a sweat or moving an inch.
"If you're in my presence for the first time, you bow and stay that way until I tell you to do otherwise." Her voice cut off my thoughts and the way she delivers her words, it's like nothing I've heard before. She's obviously trying to make me afraid and she's being so calm about it. It works though because her tone sends chill all over my body but Damian's words rings in my head.
She plagues on other people's fear.
I look beside me to see Dean on the ground, all the way down until his forehead, arms, kneels and ankles are touching the ground. The bloody ground, he doesn't even care about it. This is the man I've always seen as an alpha, always in control of every situation. The guards outside was out to welcome him, they bowed even if it was as big as this one, they respected him enough to do that. I guess he isn't the boss, there's always someone else topping the food chain. I know he works for her, I just never imagined this.
"And why would I bow to you?" I fire back in a calm, firm tone, using that to cover the fear I'm feeling. I'm very good at being calm under pressure. It's my special talent.
The looks on her face is stoic, emotionless. If she's annoyed, she isn't showing it.
"Because I'm the ruler, leader and Queen of this realm. You will bow whenever you see me and you will not make eye contact if you value your life." She isn't delivery her words as a threat, I think that's just the way she speaks. Her accent actually reminds me of that Damian's and Dean's, it sounds British but I know it isn't.
'You do as you're told, Cami. She is the queen of this realm and everything she does is justified. She can kill you for disobedience. Just go down on your knees and bow, it won't hurt anything, not even your pride. Remember that we're here to ask for her help.'
Damian says through the telepathy but he isn't around. How did he know what's going on?
I look at my grandmother, who is already looking at me with no expression. Sighing because I know he's right, this is her kingdom, it's only mandatory for me to give her the respect she deserves. She hasn't done anything to me, and I need her. The last time I want to do is to upset her.
It's just bowing, what's the worst that could happen?
I take my eyes off her because I know it's actually a sin to make eye contact with her, she's just letting it go because I don't know the rules. So I remove my hands from my pockets and go down on my kneels before bending forward to place my elbow and rest of my body down until my forehead is touching the ground. My stomach turns as I recoil from the awful smell coming from the floor. Holy Shit, it smells like death. I've seen death. I've heard death. I've smelt death but nothing like this. This is worse.
"Very good. Come now."
I rise from my floor like that command is what I've been waiting to hear. El is already on her way out and we follow behind her. I walk through the slimy door and arrive back at the empty hall. The queen doesn't stop walking and some unexpected happens. The outfit she had on, which resembles the guards uniform burns off her body. Expecting to see her naked body but instead something else form from the burn, a whole new outfit. This actually reminds of that's scene in Hunger Games where Katniss Everdeen's clothes changed during one of the contest.
A cape pleated sleeve draped lace satin dress appears. I'm not sure if the material is made of lace or satin but that's just how I can describe it.
She walks to the door in the middle of the room, it's separated from the rest of the doors, which makes me wonder if the room is the most important. She walks through the door and we follow suit. Doors in Di Hipsodat are made of slimes.
I enter another room, the throne room. I've never been to one but I know it's not like this on earth. The floor of the place is a reflecting glass or at least that's what I think it is. The entire room is dark in the sense that you could still feel and see the light around. And on each side of the wall is a barrier and in each barrier is a guard holding spear with spikes. I look forward and see the throne, the chair she seats on. I can't tell if it's made of steel or metal but the light shining on it from above makes it glitter. There's a six steps that leads to her chair and on each end of the step are two creatures statues.
El climbs the steps and sits on her throne. She looks so at home on it like that chair is designed for her. Dean stops at the end of steps and I stand beside him. It's only wise to do everything he does as we go on.
"You didn't inform me of your trip, Gar-El. This means you needs something and seeing as you brought this feeble earthling and another dead one, I can only assume that you need to use the Golden water. You need me."
I don't sense any malice in her tone. I think that's just who she is. She says what she wants to say and definitely what she means.
Dean goes on one knee and his elbow resting on his knees and the other goes down, his fist touching the ground. I mimic his actions and stare down.
"Yes, El. One of my students died last night and we have no means of bringing her back." He tells her.
I hear her hum but don't look up to see her reaction. "Is that so? Okay." She agrees. I can't believe she just agreed. "She's already in at the temple getting ready."
I smile and say, "thank you. Thank you very much."
"Why, you're welcome. But know this, I will not be doing this for free." She answers.
I frown. Is she expecting to get paid?
"You see, The Golden Water heals everything even the dead but it takes something from me. And I've given enough. I bring your friend back and you must repay your debt with anything I want."
"I'm your granddaughter, you actually want me to repay you for bringing back my dead friend, who died because of you!" I stand up and glare at her.
She relaxes against the throne, getting comfortable as she crosses her leg over the other and places her arms on the arm of the chair. "Granddaughter? You think you're my granddaughter? You are human, a lost one at that. So what if you're blood of my blood? Why should I care? And you dare accuse me of killing your friend. Go back to your knees or I will force you and you don't want me to force you."
I want to call her bluff but I know she isn't the type of person to make empty threat. She will kill me and I don't think anyone would miss me.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to snap, I was being childish." I apologise and go down on my knees and retain my earlier position.
"Childish indeed. Let's go to the temple, we can't waste anymore time." I hear her get up from her chair. "Rise." We stand up and she calls Dean. "Gar."
At the sound of his real name, a portal opens in front of us. El is the first to enter and I follow her. I get off the portal in the temple.
"Kalas dun by foy." She says after I get off the portal.
The first thing I see is Jessica pale body laying on the ground, she's wrapped with some kind of vines but it's color red. I raise my head to see an older woman in a white cloak, it's different from the women I saw earlier. She's standing over Jessica's body.
"Stab wound. It's the Elsword." The woman answers.
El nods her head and faces Dean. "Go do your job and meet me later, we have so much to discuss." She orders Dean, who nods and opens a portal for himself and enters it. She looks around the place like she's looking for someone. "Where's Dam-El?"
"He had to leave." The woman replies.
She hums like she knows why he had to leave. "Let's begin now, shall we?"
The woman nods and walks away, I follow her with my gaze and see her walk towards a–is that a waterfall? A waterfall, in front of the waterfall is a tub. The queen joins her and watch Jessica body levitate from the ground and into the water.
The color of the water change to black as Jessica's body sinks to the bottom of the tub, I don't know how far it is but standing near the water, it's too dark that I can't see anything.
The next minute, the water changes color from black and begins to glow and turns to water. I see hands grabs the edge of the tub before she burst out of the water, looking alive and scared and confused. The woman in white touch her head and her eyes closes before falling back into the water.
Her body is then levitated out of the water and onto the rock around the waterfall but that's not all, the water glows black and I hear El groan beside me. I see her fall on her knees and cries out as she spread her arms out and raises her head up and scream. Fangs grows, replacing her teeth, her eyes darkens.
Something leaves her body and goes into the water and it clears, but El fades. I watch her whole body fade for a second before she falls on ground, looking unconscious.
"Is she okay?" I ask the woman.
I feel guilty for bringing Jessica here, I didn't know the water would take something from El. I thought she was kidding when she said it. She just fainted and–
A sharp breath bring my attention back to her. Her eyes snaps open and connects with mine.
"What happened?" She asks.
She looks confused like Jessica looked when she got out of that water and she also looks sick.
What is wrong with her?
