Barging into my father's office, I slam the door behind me and point an accusing finger at him. "You knew Caleb Sinclair is a threat the minute he stepped foot into the school premises, didn't you?"

He had to know. He is the gatekeeper and not just an ordinary gatekeeper. An ancient one added with fact the he's a deity that some people pray to. We call him the all knowner and seer, but these days he's been acting like someone slacking off this job. He shouldn't even be trying so hard to find what he's looking for. So there's only one explanation to what he's doing, he's stalling.

His head whip in my direction. Confusion written all over his face as he closes his laptop. "Damian, what are you–?" I cut him off before he tells me one more lie. I've heard enough of it.

Normally, I wouldn't have asked anything if he told me his plans but he didn't, and he knows I can't stand it when it's about Camille.

"You knew who broke into Di Hipsodat and pretended as if you didn't. All those research you were doing to find who broke into Di Hipsodat and all those bullshit about finding the same pattern with one that attacked Cami in the library was all crap, wasn't it?"

I should have known he was just stalling. All those times I thought he was actually doing something, looking for the person but that wasn't it. Why haven't I figured this out sooner?

Father hums and leans against his chair, not taking his eyes off me but it also as if he isn't looking at me. "You said bullshit and crap in one breath, Damian. You spent thirty three years hating Earth and human culture, you even hate their language. And all those times I've heard you speak in English, you never say words like that because it makes you like them. You've been spending too much time with Cami, it's starting to change you."

He notices. Of course he does, he's my father. He speaks the truth. I hate earth and I hate human more. I refused to do anything the humans did when we first got here but meeting and interacting with Camille is changing that. I mean, why wouldn't I cuss when that's all she does when she's trying to be heard or make a point. But I won't let him use that to change the subject of the matter because I know him. He sways off topic when he doesn't want to talk and I won't let him do that. Not today when I know Camille might be in danger.

"Answer. Me." I grit out as I stand in front of his desk.

He drops his hands on the arms of the chair and push the chair forward, he removes his hands and drops it on his desk, giving me his full attention or at least that's what I think he's doing.

"You didn't ask any sensible question," he shrugs.

I bend and drop my palms flat on his desk to look intimidating but who am I kidding? It won't work on him. He knows me and I know him.

"I'm not kidding father. The attack on Di Hipsodat and the one in the library is made by the same person and you know who the person is. You've always known." I don't make a point of repeating myself often but it seems father needs me to remind him every minute.

"You realize that I don't have time for all this," he says and leans against his chair again.

Okay, he doesn't have time for this but I know he'll say something after hearing what I'm going to say next. "You told Camille to stay away from Caleb knowing she would do the exact opposite. Why?"

His face goes blank.

After everything that went down with Camille, I made a promise to myself to stay away from her, to keep my distance without actually keeping it. I'd watch her from a distance and see how she's doing from there. I know she can handle herself but there are something that are bigger than her, things she'll need protection from. I hated Caleb Sinclair the moment I saw them sit together in my class. Camille spoke to him freely and I wished it was me instead. I never thought to look into him. He was just another student but when I portal Camille back to The Vale after Azra temporarily took over her, I heard father tell her to stay away from Caleb because he believed he was a threat. I knew that instant that Camille was in danger because Father doesn't assume or believe, he was always certain of things and he would never mention anything he wasn't sure of. So I began looking into him myself, knowing it was only a matter of time before Camille came looking too.

"Because she needs to prepare for what's coming." Father's voice cut into my thoughts.

What's coming?

What is coming?

I shake my head in disappointment. "Another test from you and El. Did you bring Caleb here too to test her power limits?"

"I did no such thing. Caleb is a very much needed coincidence." He indirectly acknowledge it. "You will do well to know your place, Dam-El." His demeanor changes. "You were not sent here to play bodyguard to Camille Stark. El has big plans for her and I will not let you or anyone interfere with it."

I can't believe he just said that. I knew he and El had some plan going on, like they were preparing Camille for something but I never knew he'll play dirty.

"You used to be so kind and thoughtful. What changed?" I ask because the man I'm looking at right now looks like my father but he isn't acting like it. "I will interfere and if you want to start a fight with me, then so be it."

I say that and leave his office.

Alicia and Camille were researching Caleb Sinclair but they didn't know I already knew everything about that bastard. Right now I need to get to Nosalys Asylum to find what happened between him and Sofia Rodrigo. I was going to wait till tomorrow for Camille but we don't have time. We need to know who Caleb is and what he wants with her.

Nosayls Asylum is located just outside Concord Hills. It's definitely an Asylum for the supernatural because the moment I step into the vicinity, I could feel the barrier spell keeping the place protected.

Getting here isn't easy and I did something I never thought I could. After my talk with father last night, I went back to the mansion and pulled out a map. I located the Asylum on the map and portal myself to my last known location in Concord Hills. The cafe, Roman is working. I didn't enter the place because he was there working and I couldn't face him, not after seeing the betrayal on Cami's face when she found out I had lied to her. I only did it for her sake. Everything I did, I did for her own good. She just doesn't know it.

I stood there and search the minds of the people in the mile radius. Twenty seven minutes later, I picked up a thought about the Asylum on a woman's mind. I approached her after cloaking myself and tap into her mind. She's a supernatural, I can tell from the way her mind is closed but I was still able to penetrate her thoughts, and luckily the woman, Mrs. Natalie Wayne has a daughter, Patty Wayne locked up in the asylum and she's worried about her. I didn't do much, her thoughts did everything for me. I was able to see the location of the place in her mind, giving me a place to portal to since it's been visualize in my mind.

The Asylum is a secured facility that I'm sure has something else going on other than keeping the mentally deranged and unstable well.

I open a portal to the place that appeared frequently on Natalie's mind and enter. I brace myself because I have no idea what the security in the Asylum is like and I doubt they have something they can stop me but still I worry. I'm going in blind and that's not good.

I step out of the portal and curl my fingers inward to close the portal. I'm in an office, the director's office, well, the frost glass on his desk says Malcom G. Franklin, director.

The door of the office opens. "Who are you? And what are you doing in my office?" An unfamiliar voice asks.

I turn around to meet the gaze of a bald short man. "Who I am doesn't matter but what I want does."

He frowns and steps into his office, closing the door gently behind him. "You didn't do your research well before coming here. I don't know how you got here but I assure you that this is one of the biggest mistake of your life."

His heart rate is spiking. He's nervous and I don't think he's the person to scare easily, but something he doesn't know scares him like how I got into his office without anyone seeing me.

I move towards him in a flash and slam him against his door, my hand to his throat. He struggles but I'm way stronger than him.

He looks into my eyes and his pupil dilates as I work my powers on him. "What's your name?" I ask to know for sure if my power is working on him.

"Malcom Franklin."

"Good. Malcom, how old are you?"

"I'm fifty five."

"How long have you worked here?"

"Sixteen years."

"Sixteen years. So you know every patients." He nods. "What can you tell me about Sofia Rodrigo? More importantly, what she knows about Caleb Sinclair." His eyes widens.
