"You're going to fall," Tommy commented as he glanced up at Beauty. She was balancing on a thin railing that paralleled the street. Mamacita and Purpled were walking in front of Tommy, talking about the lowering crime rates brought about by Purpled's jurisdiction. Tommy would have been talking with them, but the conversation topic wasn't something he wanted to interfere with (plus it bored him). Even though he had spent an hour in Las Nevadas listening to various conversations, Tommy hadn't come across any substantial evidence. Las Nevadas wasn't any more or less suspicious than when Tommy first came. He had no clue if it was pocket dimension that was being established. He could only hope Siren was having better luck than him.

"You'll catch me if I do, right?" Beauty said as she twirled around while walking forwards. Tommy could see the dew gleaming on the metal. With one misstep, Beauty would hurtle to the ground. If she fell the wrong way, her head would slam against the concrete with enough force to crack her skull open. She could get some nasty bruising, or just an ache in her muscles for a few days. It wouldn't necessarily kill her, certainly not from this height. But the possibility for major injuries was there, and like Tommy previously thought, she could bust her head open.

"Why the hell would I catch someone being so Prime damn reckless?" Tommy retorted. The truth was that Tommy would catch Beauty for the sole reason that he was a hero. Years of being a model citizen had shaped Tommy's instincts. If someone was in danger with Tommy close enough to save them, his body would react before his mind gave the order. During missions, it was a good thing since most of the time Tommy didn't have time to think. When Tommy was trying to prove a point to a decently attractive girl, he didn't gain the access to the on and off switch.

"That's cold. From what Purpled told us, you were much... warmer to people. I suppose you and I are alike in that way," Beauty said as she tapped a finger against her lips. Tommy didn't know what that statement meant. Beauty and Tommy were similar because they were... contradictions of what Purpled said they were? Was that it? Or maybe she meant that people saw them as warm when they were cold? Tommy hummed noncommittally. He had never thought about if he was a warm or cold person. He normally leaned towards cold by virtue of Tommy being secretive. When he opened up to people, he didn't get warmer, exactly.

Tommy was lost in thought when his arms shot forwards while his knees bended to shift his center of balance. Tommy didn't know why until a firm weight landed in his arms. In Tommy's peripheral, he had seen Beauty wobbling and her falling. His eyes sent the message to his limbs before the comprehending part of his brain understood what he needed to do. Beauty was giving him a sheepish smile as Tommy's body straightened up with her in his arms. She clapped her hands together, "I knew you would catch me! There's something... noble about you."

"You've known him for an hour, and you're already flirting?" Mamacita said as she put a hand on her hip, turned back to face Tommy and Beauty. Purpled had a hand grasped around the railing with his body hunched. Tommy was scared that Purpled was puking, but it didn't take him long to realize Purpled was dying with laughter. Tommy shot a withering glare as he helped Beauty onto her feet. She didn't let go of his hand, though, leaning against his shoulder.

"Isn't that the best time to flirt? Who flirts with someone they've known for a little while unless they're joking or crushing?" Beauty said. Tommy shrugged Beauty off as he went towards Purpled. The hoodie wearer straightened up when he saw Tommy, hands up to show innocence. Purpled might have made an excuse, but Tommy didn't wait to hear it. He was rushing forwards. Purpled broke out into a run with Tommy chasing after him. While Tommy had the faster speed, Purpled knew the city better. Purpled was good at maneuvering over the obstacles to slow Tommy down.

It was this fact that when Purpled leaped over a box, Tommy instinctively slid under the box. This was a problem because there was something beneath the box... a hole in the ground. Tommy flopped down towards the bottom of the pit. He slammed his fingers against his wrist as soon as he registered he was falling down. A red caustic light spread across Tommy's body, stopping Tommy before he crashed into the ground. Tommy lowered himself onto the floor onto his feet.

Tommy looked around. Above him was a few rays of light that managed to peek through the underside of the box. Other than that, Tommy was in an old sewer system made of cobblestone with a low level of water at his feet that didn't rise above his shoes. Tommy could see the huge pipe mainly because there was a light source. Built into the walls were fissures of a purple crystal dust that Tommy didn't recognize. It had a faint glow to it, but there was a lot of crystals in the cracks that bathed the room in the purple light. Tommy wandered over to the sides of the sewer system. He stepped onto the platform that ran alongside the waterway to touch the dust. When his fingertips graced the crystalline structure, his vision swirled with colors and light to form an image. Sound bounced around his head like he was in the room that the image was taking place. Tommy pulled his hand back with a deep blush as he realized that the crystal had shown him two adults having sex. Last Tommy checked, crystals didn't give those sorts of hallucinations.

Tommy placed his hand on a different part of the wall. In this vision, Tommy saw a man flying in the sky with a brilliant smile on his face. As Tommy trailed the crack to it's end, he was shown different types of visions. The common thread was that people were happy in the vision. More than happy, actually, they looked like their dreams had come true. They looked like the world was theirs for the taking. It was heartwarming to see people experiencing that kind of joy, but Tommy knew instinctively none of these visions were real. Well, they weren't real in some senses of the word. The visions were real people's real wishes. People in Las Nevadas were wishing they could fly, fall in love, win loads of money, or anything else Tommy had seen. The crystals were documenting those wishes.

"What for?" Tommy whispered uneasily. He kept his hand against the wall as he continued to where he assumed the end would be. Tommy was rewarded when he saw a brighter light at the end of the tunnel. Tommy was hoping that he would find the Ender Portal, but what he cane upon was some sort of headquarters. Tommy looked around for any clues he could find.

The room wasn't much bigger than the entirety of Tommy's safe house cabin. The crystal dust formed a cracked pattern on the walls, but it didn't seem to have a beginning or end. In the center of the room was a table with maps and books stacked on top of each other. Around the sides of the rooms were desks with computers and more books. When Tommy looked at the table, the maps were of L'Manberg, Las Nevadas, El Rapids before 2b2t took it over, and the countries around L'Manberg. There wasn't any particular place circled, but that didn't mean the maps were untouched. Over L'Manberg was the outline of both El Rapids and Las Nevadas over it in yellow and orange highlighter. There was notes written about size in miles down to the thousandths place. The books weren't much different than the maps. They were atlases and textbooks with sticky notes of information. What Tommy noticed was that the notes were written in different handwritings. Tommy noticed at least four different handwritings, which either meant he was dealing with four people or someone with split personality disorder.

Tommy looked through the information to see what he could find. Tommy opened one of the books to find four papers inside. Tommy looked across the first paper to see it was a detailed report on the whereabouts of the Eyes of Ender. Tommy read through the first three pages. As he was nearing the end of the last page, Tommy heard something that sent his face flying upwards. Standing at the other entrance of the room was a person covered in dark shadows that covered their face and body. Tommy was about to reach out for a fight, but a burst of light enclosed around his body with the sound of a deep sigh.

Tommy opened his eyes to see that he was outside of Las Nevadas. He was standing the shore of the lake across from Las Nevadas. Tommy looked down at his hands. Three of the four papers had been teleported with him. Tommy shook his head with a slight smirk. It didn't matter what Siren had found. Tommy had concrete proof that Las Nevadas was a pocket dimension that was trying to establish itself over L'Manberg. Tommy still wasn't sure who was in charge or involved, but if he could secure the location of just one Eye of Ender, the mission would be over.

Tommy had one lingering question, though. What did this have to do with El Rapids?
