THE CLICKING OF HEELS ECHOED OFF THE WALLS, ALERTING THOSE BEHIND BARS THAT SOMEONE WAS COMING. The heels continued to click until they came to the end of the hall where the last inmate was. Sitting lazily against the wall was Xavier Blossom who hadn't bothered to shift his attention to the person standing outside his cell.
She cleared her throat, hoping to capture his attention, though, he hardly moved. The blonde frowned at his defiance. She ran her tongue over her teeth, clearly annoyed.
"You called," she started earning a chuckle from the Blossom boy. "And you answered. Congratulations, Penny."
Penny Peabody smiled, but it was forced. Xavier turned his body to face her. His smile was taunting. "I want to say I'm surprised you made it, but then again your timing is what's most shocking."
"What can I say, your case interested me." Penny mused. Xavier shrugged, narrowing his eyes. "I could say the same about you."
"So you know what I'm capable of," Penny warned, crossing her arms. Xavier scoffed. "The same could be said about me, sweetheart."
"What do you want from me Xavier? It's not every day I come to the North side."
"Should I be thanking you?" He chuckled, rolling his eyes. "I thought it was part of your job description."
"You know, you're the first Serpent that I know to live on the North side," Penny acknowledged with a sly smirk. "Mm, how else do you think your drugs are getting pushed over here and elsewhere? You should be thanking my family for our partnership."
"Your family is in shambles because your brother was incompetent." Xavier scowled. "That was my brother, I'm not a loose end."
"Aren't you? You got caught being an accessory to your brother's murder. You're not going to be getting out anytime soon."
Xavier pondered on her words. He wasn't one to admit defeat, yet here he was backed into a corner without an escape. He clenched his fists in frustration. How was he supposed to get out of this mess?
"So what do you suggest I do?" He questioned carefully. Penny smiled, but it was dark. She leaned in, dropping her voice to a whisper. Xavier made walked up to her placing both hands on the bars of his cell. "C'mon Penny. Don't hold out on me after everything."
"You want to know the way you can get out of here?" Xavier nodded. Penny let out a chuckle. "We'll that's easy, kid. You die."

THE FRAGILE INNOCENCE OF RIVERDALE WAS SHATTERED AT THE HANDS OF THE BLOSSOM FAMILY. Jason, who had been ruthlessly murdered by his own father and lured into his death by his own brother was enough to create the storm in which had yet to come.
Cheryl Blossom, the bystander to her father and brother's evil deeds was the byproduct of a broken little girl ready to be reunited with her twin at Sweet water river. She was saved by Archie and his friends while the he could not. . .
"Sheriff, what do we do?" Sheriff Keller stood outside the cell belonging to Xavier Blossom. An officer was to his left, face twisted with worry. The two men were staring at the sight before them— Xavier Blossom hanging by a bed sheet much like his father had gone out. Sheriff Keller let out a deep sigh. "Get him down. I'll call the morgue."
It didn't take long for the media to hear about the tragic end to the young killer Xavier Blossom. Soon, the media and the towns people of Riverdale all gathered outside of the station, watching as the stretcher carrying the body in a black bag rolled out from its doors and into that of the van.
In the midst of the crowd stood Archie, Betty, Veronica, Kevin, and Jughead.
"Oh my god, this can't be real." Veronica cried, horrified at the sight. She shook her head, in denial of the whole situation. "There's no way Cheryl just tried to just. . . Off herself and so did Xavier!"
"Hey, Ronnie," Archie went to rub her shoulder, but she flinched at his touch. He frowned, clearly hurt by her rejection. Kevin placed his hand on Archie's shoulder and gave him a sad smile. He nodded in appreciation. Veronica looked at Betty with tear filled eyes.
"Betty, please just tell me that this is some nightmare and that everything that has happened in these past twenty four hours isn't real."
"V. . ."
Betty whispered, her own lip trembling. It broke her heart to see Veronica breaking down. She knew that despite her relationship with Xavier being one sided, she truly did care for him. She was too good for him and she didn't have the heart to tell her when she saw just how badly she was coping with his loss.
"I'm so sorry."
Veronica crumbled at the apology as the reality came crashing down. Betty went down on her knees and hugged the girl who was sobbing. Jughead looked at Betty with concern, oblivious to her own guilt and heartbreak.
She hated to admit it, but a small part of her had gotten attached to Xavier. She knew it was wrong in more ways than one, but she couldn't deny how alive made her feel and now he was dead.
"I'm gonna go talk to my dad." Kevin sighed and made his way through the crowd to meet his dad. Jughead went towards Archie, both men facing in the direction of the van where Xavier's body was being put in. The girls, who were now standing in their feet, were quietly conversing. "It's weird."
"What is?" Archie asked, lips set in a straight line. "Everything. It should feel like the chapter is over now that you know. . ."
"They're both dead?" Archie clarified solemnly. Jughead nodded. He cleared his throat, shoving both hands in his pockets. "Yeah, but it just doesn't seem like it's the end you know?"
"Jughead, what are you saying?" Archie shifted his attention to Jughead. He was facing him now, confusion twisting his features. Jughead licked his lips. He was tapping the ground with his foot anxiously. "Jug. . ."
"I don't know man, it just," Jughead sighed, shaking his head. He bit his lip and looked away from Archie's hardening stare. "Maybe I'm just overthinking it, but it's usually never this easy. Like in the movies, it's never this easy."
"This isn't the movies, Jughead this is real life!" Archie exclaimed almost angrily. He lowered his voice noticing a few people turning to give them questioning looks. "Look, a man just died. Two, in no less than twenty four hours. How is any of this easy? Because I'll tell you one thing, none of it is. Cheryl just tried to kill herself while both her dad and now brother have done to themselves. I don't think any of this is easy. Jesus she just lost her twin."
"You're right." Jughead nodded, seemingly convinced. "You're right, Archie. None of this is easy."

THE BRIGHT HEADLIGHTS OF THE VAN PIERCED THROUGH THE DARKNESS, ILLUMINATING THE WOMAN STANDING AT THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. The van came to a stop, the driver shifting the gears into park. He unlocked the doors and got out.
"Did you get it?" The woman asked with a raised brow. The man in uniform nodded, tilting his head in the direction of the back. "Just like you asked."
"Good." She smiled. She reached into her pocket and retrieved the yellow folder. "Inside this folder you'll see is the amount needed to seal the deal of everything. Thank you for fulfilling your favor, Jared."
"Anything for you, Penny."
The said man, Jared, smiled, tipping his cap to her. He went towards the back of the van, Penny following suit with a mischievous grin. Jared opened the van's double doors and went inside. Penny stood outside, watching.
Jared went towards the black bag and unzipped it. He stood back just as he shot up. Xavier Blossom. The Blossom boy took a deep breath, rubbing his neck that was sore. His viridian eyes flared daggers at the man who set him free from his confinement.
"It's about fucking time." Xavier snarled, cracking his neck. "It was getting hot."
He slowly got himself out of the bag and stood to his height. He shoved past Jared who grunted in annoyance. Xavier walked towards Penny and jumped out the back of the van, landing on his feet before the blonde snake charmer.
"Xavier," she greeted with a dazzling grin. "Welcome back to the land of the living."
"It's good to be back."
He smirked, glancing around at the sight before him. The two were in the middle of the woods were the exchange was going on. The two turned to Jared who shut the van doors from the inside and made his way to the front where he drove off.
"So, now that the town believes you're dead and you're free. . ." Penny started with a devious grin. She took a step closer to him, placing her hand on his chest. He looked down at her hand then back at her. She looked up at him, eyes gleaming. "What do you plan on doing?"
"Isn't it obvious, gorgeous?" He leaned down to her level, raising his hand so that he caress her face. She leaned into his touch. Xavier fluttered his eyelashes innocently. "I'm going to kill you."
"What?"
Penny jerked her head back in confusion, but it was too late. Xavier wrapped both his hands around her throat and threw her to the floor. Penny let out a gasp and tried to scramble to her feet only to be stomped on her back.
She let out a choked up scream. Xavier tilted his head at her and sighed.
"Now c'mon, Penny, did you really think I'd allow myself to be in debt to you?" He raised his foot allowing her to start crawling. He laughed at her. "I mean seriously. Are you that slow or just plain pathetic?"
He grabbed her by her hair making her scream. He started laughing at her, trying to shush her blubbering.
"Easy, Penny, no one can hear you." Bringing the switchblade that he had from out of his pocket, Xavier placed it just below her jaw. She gulped; the lump in her throat slid against the knife that threatened to break her skin. "It was your great plan to bring us out here. And you know, I took extra precautions because I know you wouldn't be alone so let's just say if you're looking for your men they aren't going to save you because they're dead too."
"What do you want from me?" Penny cried out. "I saved you! I did everything to help your psychotic ass break free! We had a deal!"
"Yeah? And where did that get you?" He questioned with a pout. He tsked at her shaking his head. "Rule number one, never trust a psychopath."
He dug the blade into her skin. Her flesh started to weep crimson. She let out a shaky breath. Xavier sighed, clearly upset.
"You asked me what I'm going to do with my new found freedom. That's easy,"
With one swift pull, Penny let out a gasp just as Xavier let go of her hair and her head hit the ground with a heavy thud. He stood up to his full height, and slowly took a few steps back as the blood pooled around her body.
"I'm going to go after Polly Cooper," He looked at the bloody switchblade in thought. Shrugging, he closed it and dropped it back into his pocket. He stared at Penny's body and smiled. "After all, she's the mother of my child and I'll be damned if my son or daughter doesn't have what I needed growing up."
Two parents that won't leave.
Xavier Blossom glanced at Penny's body once more and brought out his lighter. He flicked it on and threw it on her body that erupted into flames. Xavier shoved both of his hands into his pockets and started whistling.
He knew it wouldn't be long before the firefighters were called to the scene as well as the cops. With little to no care in the world, Xavier began to walk aimlessly. The darkness in which he felt most at home engulfed his entire being. It shielded him away from curious eyes as he began to plot his next moves. For Xavier Blossom was lethal just as he was unstoppable at doing anything to raise his child. . .
Even if he had to paint the town with pep in red.
