Chapter 1: The Invitation
(Yahoo! The first chapter is up! Ok, I couldn't really find a way to add when Lloyd goes to find Kai, Cole, and Jay, so I skipped it. I've added Seliel , because she's super cool! I've also added another character from Pokémon Conquest! I hope you'll figure out what his elemental power is! Haha! Enjoy!)
(3rd's POV)
It has been a week since the invitations have been sent out as well as Zane, Pixal, and Lar's kidnappings. The two worlds were a bit tense.
(Cora's POV)
Everything has been awkward between our friends. I've tried to convince my teammates about giving Lloyd's team a break, but they wouldn't listen, or they would argue. I've remained in contact with Lloyd as I stayed at Ransei with Nene. It wasn't too bad. I was able to train with my powers and actual form a purple sphere. Although, we haven't actually figured out my elemental powers or the name of it. I haven't had a chance to ask Sensei Garmadon nor Sensei Wu about it. I didn't want to ask Lloyd about it, because I was afraid it would frighten him somehow. Well, I am going to Ninjago soon to ask them in person. Aya wanted to come with me as well. Something happened to her, I think. I wonder what happened.
"Hey! Cora!" Nene shouted loudly as she ran into her castle.
I opened the doors to my room as I asked, "Yes? Is something wrong?"
Nene ran in front of me with a letter in her hand. Strange, I never get mail.
"Someone sent this to you. Anyway, I've got to head to Nixtorm. Lord Mitsuhide wants me to help him with Gracia. I should be back in a day or two. You'll be ok with Hanzo until you have to meet with Aya and head to Ninjago, right?" Nene asked with a smile on her face.
"Yes" I told her with a bow.
"Ok! I'll see ya soon!" Nene shouted as she winked and ran off.
I went back to my room with the letter. I wonder who sent this to me. I sat on my bed and opened it.
Dear Cora Master of Energy,
You are hereby invited to participate in the tournament of elements on Chen's island. You are to come alone and not bring your weapons. Only clothes. You may only discus this letter with others who are invited to this tournament. IF YOU DO TALK TO SOMEONE ABOUT THIS WHO WASN'T INVITED THEN I'LL HURT YOUR TEAMMATES! You must head to the dock in Ninjago city's port by tomorrow if you wish to participate in the tournament of elements.
What?! There's a tournament?! I have to tell my friends about this, but I can't. They'll get hurt... I can't do that to them... They're my close friends... I have to do something about this! Wait! I can't leave Aya! I'll just meet with her and just take her to Ninjago. Then, I'll head to the docks and take part in this tournament. There's something going on, and I plan to figure this out.
(Aya's POV in the past)
I was visiting Motochika after Gracia sealed away the mystic energy in our world. I was very upset about how Lloyd's team treated us. I understand we are not similar to them, but they did not have to lash out at us. I expected more from Cole, but I suppose grieving hurts everyone in many different ways. Motochika should help me clear my mind on the situation. He's always been very good at that. I entered his castle, but I realized that the door was scratched up! I summoned my glaive and rushed to the inner sections of the castle.
"Lar! Motochika!" I shouted loudly as I rushed towards them.
I saw a piece of paper fall to the ground. It had Lar's name on it. I quickly rushed to his room, but he was gone! I ran around the castle, but I couldn't find him! Someone kidnapped him!
(Aya's POV)
I brought Motochika to my castle to rest. My siblings were currently busy managing the two kingdoms and trying to find Lar. I just don't understand it. Who would take Lar? No one had a grudge against Motochika and him. I sighed as I heard a knock at the door.
"Who's there?" I asked seriously as I walked to the door.
I opened it to see a servant holding a letter.
"Ah. I'm sorry. I am a bit on edge lately. Thank you" I said as I took the letter.
The servant simply bowed and left me alone. I opened the letter and began to read it slowly.
Dear Aya master of dark,
I am master chen! This is an invitation to the tournament of elements. You will be facing other elemental masters. You cannot bring your weapons nor tell anyone else about this tournament unless someone else has this letter.
As for Lar, if you come to the tournament, you will be able to find something about him!
Come to Ninjago city's dock alone tomorrow.
My eyes narrowed slightly at this. How could this person have something about Lar? Especially if this person is from Ninjago. This is puzzling me. I can't tell anyone about this? That doesn't seem right either. I promised Cora I would travel with her to Ninjago. I wonder if she has a letter. I heard Motochika groan from the pain he was in. I went to his side and kneeled next to him. I sighed as I took care of some of his wounds. I won't let them get away with this. I went to the desk and began to write a letter for my family, my partner, and one for Nene, Gracia, and Hayakawa. I made a note to Kentasugu to give the letter to my friends. It is time for me to avenge them.
(Cora's POV)
I packed my belongings and went to the shore. I placed my bag on the ground as I looked at the letter again. I couldn't believe this. I wonder if Lloyd and his teammates got the letter. I shook my head. I have to be serious! I can't let my guard down about this.
"I hope I haven't kept you waiting" Aya said in a warm manner.
I jumped and hide the letter in my bag as I turned around.
I waved at her as I reassured her, "I wasn't waiting for that long at all!"
Aya tilted her head a bit as I turned away from her and slowly moved my hands around. I created my light purple dragon.
"L-let's go!" I said as calmly as I could and walked to my dragon with my bag in my hand.
Aya quietly followed me onto the dragon. I patted my dragon and made him fly to the sky. I kind of forgot that my elemental dragon reacts to my emotions, so the dragon just jumped straight into the air! I let out a scream of surprise while Aya let an "oh". I tried to control my dragon, but I was still having trouble! Aya took my hand and gently placed it on the dragon's neck.
"Just breath in a steady breath" Aya said in a smoothing manner.
I tried to calm myself down and then my dragon began to calm down. I sighed in relief as Aya removed her hand from mine.
"Now, what made you so nervous and anxious?" Aya asked calmly.
I wasn't sure I could tell her as I gave her a worrying look. Aya still had a calm expression with a smile on her face.
"I can't tell you" I admitted sadly as I looked away from her.
"Well, I'll tell you my secret if you tell me yours" Aya said with a smile as I gave her a surprised look, "It is better to let something out than to keep it in. That will only cause you more pain"
She was right. This is hurting me a bit. I didn't tell our other teammates about this... I took a breath in as I calmed myself. I quickly made sure we weren't in Ninjago just yet.
"I was invited to take part in a Tournament of Elements!" I shouted as I closed my eyes.
I felt her hands on my shoulder as I opened my eyes wide. She wasn't mad or anything.
She smiled, "There you go. As for my secret, I was invited as well. However, I am going, because someone took Motochika's little brother away and hurt my beloved partner. I plan to save Lar and avenge them"
I was a bit scared of Aya at times. She said that threat with a pleasant smile on her face as she just threatened the host of the tournament. Well, at least I am not alone on this.
"Then let's work together at this tournament and find Lar!" I said with confidence as I gave her a warm smile.
"That's the attitude we need to win this" Aya said as my dragon roared, "It looks like we are almost there"
I placed my hands on my dragon and gave my dragon the final push to travel to Ninjago. In a flash of purple light, we found ourselves flying over Ninjago City at night!
"This site never gets old" I said with a smile as I flew the dragon towards the ground.
Aya took our bags and got off my dragon. I clapped my hands to make my dragon disappear.
"Do you think it is time for us to go to the dock?" I asked Aya as we looked around.
I wanted to see Lloyd, but this is more important.
"I am not sure. The letter didn't give us a date" Aya said as she read her letter again.
"Hey! I didn't expect to see you two here!" a friendly, familiar voice greeted us warmly.
We turned around saw Seliel! Wow! She's here too? Yay! I ran towards her and gave her a warm hug.
"It is so nice to see you again!" I said warmly as I looked up at her in delight.
"It is nice to see you too, Cora" she replied as she returned my hug, "What brings you two here?"
"I believe the three of us are heading to the docks. You were invited to the Tournament as well?" Aya asked as she noticed Seliel's bag.
"Haha yeah. I wanted to try my elemental powers out at the Tournament. What brings you two here? I thought you lived in another world?" Seliel asked as I released her from the hug.
"Yes, but we were invited to partake in this Tournament. However, we both came to get my beloved's little brother back. We have a feeling he's here" Aya answered gravely.
"Whoa. That's not ok. Mind if I help you out as well?" Seliel offered as she gave us a serious expression.
"The more the merrier!" I said with a determined expression.
Seliel smiled as Aya nodded her head in agreement. I pulled Seliel's and Aya's hands together and placed mine on top. This is going to work! I can feel it! We went to the docks, but we weren't alone. I saw a lot of men and like three other girls. They were each wearing their unique colors corresponding to their elements. At least that is what I think.
"I've been meaning to ask you two something" Seliel whispered as we sat near the edge of dock.
I sat on the edge of the dock and let my legs dangle a bit. We turned our heads to her.
"Where are Gracia, Hayakawa, and Nene? Aren't they elemental masters as well?" Seliel asked curiously.
I didn't think about that. I hope they won't be mad. I am here to help Aya and stop this person.
"That is a good question. We will hopefully find the answer. However, Cora and I are strong. If something does happen to us, then we have allies who will come for us" Aya reassured calmly.
Seliel seemed relieved about that. At that moment, I heard familiar voices...
"Ah! I told you we shouldn't have worn them!" a loud voice shouted in annoyance.
I looked up at Seliel and Aya in shock. The two of them shared a similar expression to mine. We turned around to see four young teenagers wearing blue, red, black, and green gis! It couldn't be?
"The Tournament of Elements. You think all of them have powers like us?" Kai asked as he glanced around to see the other competitors.
"When I ask my dad about it, he got really suspicious" Lloyd said seriously, "Like there's something he's keeping from me"
It is them! The three of us went over to them quietly.
"The fortune cookie said tell no one or else there'd be consequences" Cole said seriously as he pointed this out using his fist.
Why doesn't that surprise me? They were invited by a fortune cookie. Seliel giggled a bit when she heard that.
"Relax. We're cool" Lloyd reassured them with a smile.
"I didn't expect to see you four here" Aya said with a warm smile.
"What?! You three are invited too?!" Kai, Jay, and Cole shouted in shock.
I could feel everyone's piercing gazes on us.
"Of course, we were. Did you forget our first meeting? Would like demonstration?" Seliel boasted with a proud smirk on her face.
"Oh, I recall how strong you are, but I've gotten stronger too" Cole replied with a smirk.
I smiled at them as Jay glared at Cole. I really hope Jay doesn't get mad at Cole. I did hear about his break-up with Nya and fight with Cole from Lloyd.
"You two were invited, but where are Nene, Gracia, and Hayakawa?" Kai asked surprised.
"We were just asking ourselves that as we arrived at the dock. It does trouble me, but we did as the letter instructed and didn't speak with them about it" Aya said as she winked at me.
I wonder what she meant by that...
"It is nice to see some friendly faces here though. With us together, we can find Zane and go home!" Lloyd said with a smile.
"Zane's alive?!" I shouted in disbelief.
Jay shushed me as Aya glared at him. He let out a whimper and hid behind Lloyd who rolled his eyes at the blue ninja.
"We got a letter saying he was alive. We decided to come here and find him" Lloyd explained to me.
"Wow. At least you got a good reason to come here" Seliel said.
"Why? What happened to you three?" Cole asked curiously.
"My beloved's little brother was kidnapped and hurt. I am received a letter explaining to me that the little brother might be there. I decided to come here" Aya explained seriously.
"Oh..." Jay said weakly.
"I entered to test my elemental power!" Seliel said in delight as she clenched her fist.
"I came to participate. The letter said if I didn't, my friends might get hurt. I won't risk that" I said strongly.
"Well, then let's work together and save our friends" Lloyd said determinedly.
Just then, we heard the horn of a ship. We all turned our attention to the dock to see a steam powered boat coming towards us. Two sailors dropped a plank to allow a man wearing red walk across it. We gathered our belongings and made our way to the plank.
"We don't know yet if this is a trap. Wherever they take us, we have to stick together" Lloyd said seriously.
We made our way to the plank.
"Watch your step, madam" the man in red advised as he gestured to the plank.
A girl in orange turned her head and smiled at us. She had this nice, red hair too with amber eyes matching her outfit. She seems very nice! Maybe I can make friends here too! I looked up and saw Kai sighing at her. Oh, boy. This is going to be fun.
"We can't let anything distract us. You hear me, Kai?" Lloyd said seriously.
"Huh? Uh, yeah. Uh, got it. Whatever you said" Kai said in a flustered state.
Oh, man... Is he in love with her?! I want a friend who won't have anything to do with the ninja!
"What?" Aya asked in shock as she turned around.
I followed her gaze along with Cole and Seliel. We saw a tall, bulk man walk pass us with a smaller man wearing an eye patch and weird looking helmet. The two of them walked onto the bridge.
"Who are they?" I whispered to Aya.
"The tall man wearing armor is Tadakatsu. He's the son of Lord Ieyasu and from Valora. I am not sure about his elemental power. He makes his opponents freeze in fear. The man in the helmet is Lord Masamune. He lives in the castle of Avia and controls the sky" Aya explained in a hush whisper.
"But then, how did they get here?" Cole asked surprised.
"Good question" Aya said seriously, "I have a feeling Lloyd's father and uncle are really hiding something about our world"
Well, I have a feeling we are going to find those answers. I just hope those are good answers. Who am I kidding?! Those are going to be very bad answers! I just know it! Nothing we ever find out is a good answer nor reason! I just don't like these secrets... Then again, my whole life is a secret... I don't even know about my elemental powers! I don't even know my family... Well, sort of... I wonder how he's doing... Gah! I need to stay on track!
"Master Chen will be charmed to see you've accepted his invitation" the man in red said to Jay.
"Hey, we're not here to fight. We're here to save a friend" Jay replied seriously.
"Don't be so petty, Master Jay" he said as he pulled a pair of nunchuckes out of Jay's bag, "Everyone here has something to fight for"
"Chopsticks! I'm a big eater!" Jay tried to reason as he placed his hand on his chest.
The man in red tossed it into the water as Jay gulped. Jay then boarded the ship with Kai and Cole behind him. I looked away from the man in red as I boarded the ship. Aya and Seliel walked pass me and went with the other Ninjas.
I waited for Lloyd, but Sensei Garmadon advised seriously, "Lloyd wait! If you get on that boat, you may never return"
Wait, did Lloyd tell his dad?! Does that mean Lloyd can't come with us?!
"Dad, what are you doing here?" Lloyd asked surprised.
"Master Chen is a dangerous man who should never be trusted. Whatever he promised you, do not believe him" Sensei Garmadon said seriously.
He knows Chen?!
"Cora? Is there where you were also going?" Sensei Garmadon asked me surprised.
"Yes. I have to help Aya. Master Chen took someone from our world" I answered seriously.
The man in red turned around and said smugly "Lord Garmadon. It's been a while. It's Sensei now, correct? I can't remember"
That man knows Sensei Garmadon too?!
"Clouse" Sensei Garmadon said in a low voice, "I see Master Chen still has you running his errands"
Lloyd turned to his father and explained, "I have to go, dad. This is about Zane. It's about family. If we're ever going to be whole again, I have to get on that ship"
Kai, Cole, Jay, and Aya stood behind me as we waited for Lloyd.
"Last call" Clouse said as he walked towards the ship and turned towards Lloyd and his father, "Are you in or out?"
Lloyd crossed over the plank and joined us.
"I can't stop you, son, but I can join you" Sensei Garmadon said determinedly as he walked towards the ship.
Clouse turned towards Sensei Garmadon as he waved his hand dismissively, "Sorry, no more room on the ship"
He turned away from him, but Lloyd looked back at his father. None of us moved as the sailors pulled the plank away from the dock.
"No room?" Sensei Garmadon asked unamused as he flipped himself forward and lightly landed on the plank.
He then ran forward quickly and jumped in the air. He landed gracefully in front us and behind a sailor as he elbowed the sailor off the ship.
Clouse turned around with an amused expression, "I stand corrected. There's room now"
Sensei Garmadon held his fist in front of his chest, "Don't worry, I'm not here to compete," he placed a hand on Lloyd's shoulder and smiled, "Only to look out for my interests"
Lloyd smiled at his father in relief as Clouse ordered the ship to leave. I placed my bag with Aya's and decided to wonder around the ship. The ship moved quickly as I saw a buff man wearing metal gauntlets juggling a red, oil can with ease! I wonder if Cole is stronger than him? Kai was standing and observing someone wearing a turban levitating himself off the ground?! Hey! That's Hayakawa's elemental power! I went to find Aya, but I bumped into Masamune! I gulped a bit.
"Better be careful. Some of these people are not friendly" he said with a smirk.
"G-got it!" I said as Seliel walked up behind me with her arms crossed over her chest seriously.
"Don't worry. I'll watch out for her" she said as she pulled me away from him.
He scoffed and walked away. Seliel then pulled me towards the other Ninjas. I wonder where Aya went. I saw Cole starring at a man with a long, brown beard holding a staff. Then, beautiful, green vines sprang from his staff! Cole then joined up with us as he then eyed me with wide eyes. I felt very worried now... We then walked behind Kai, Lloyd, and his father to find Jay looking at a man with sitar creating a sound wave! Whoa... This is cool.
"You know him. You said his name's Clouse' Lloyd said as Clouse walked towards the front of the ship with a few odd-looking people behind him.
"Don't be fooled by his attire. He is a Master of Dark Arts and Master Chen's number two" Sensei Garmadon said seriously as he eyed Clouse the man in red.
"Huh. I thought Master Chen's number two was an eggroll and fried rice" Cole joked as he licked his lips at the thought of food.
"Do not make me hungry!" Seliel said seriously as she patted her stomach.
"Why haven't you or Wu ever told us thre are others with powers like us?" Kai asked hurt.
"Because there are some things, we don't want you to know" Sensei Garmadon said seriously, "You were led to believe you were special, yet you never questioned where your powers came from"
I looked at my hands. I wonder if they know about my powers.
"Uh, are you implying that I'm not special?!" Jay exclaimed hurt and looked down as Kai patted his shoulder in a comforting manner.
"Everyone on this ship is a descendant of an original elemental master" Sensei Garmadon explained.
"Elemental Master? Who were they?" Lloyd asked curiously.
"They were the First Spinjitzu Master's guardians. Each endowed with an elemental power that has been passed down through generations" Sensei Garmadon said as he smiled and looked at the other masters.
"If true, then so is my sister Nya. But she can't do what I can" Kai pointed out.
"Can't she? Power lies in all of you. It only needs to be awoken" Sensei Garmadon said with a knowing smile.
"Uh, then what about Aya, myself, and the others in Ransei? We have powers too. However, the man with the turban is using the element of gravity. Hayakawa has that power as well" I asked as I sat down and looked up at the Sensei.
"You have elemental powers?!" Kai shouted angrily.
"I knew it!" Cole and Jay exclaimed at the same time.
I winced at their yelling as Seliel patted my shoulder.
"Why did you keep it from us?" Lloyd asked shocked.
"We were told too by Sensei Wu and Garmadon" I admitted nervously.
"Don't get mad at them. She's right. Wu and I didn't want you to find out. I had them stay at my temple to train with their powers from time to time" Sensei Garmadon said seriously, "When we meet them, we were surprised as well to find another holder of the elements of mind, gravity, poison, and dark"
I realized that those elements only corresponded to Gracia, Hayakawa, Nene, and Aya. Does he not know my element?
"What about me?" I asked in a whisper.
"We haven't encountered an element like yours before, Cora" Sensei Garmadon reassured, "If anything, your elemental power is strongly similar to Lloyd's. We find that surprising"
My power is similar to Lloyd's? That's something.
"Though, that doesn't explain why not all the elemental masters from our world were not invited" Aya said seriously as she walked up to us.
"Did you find out why they're here?" Cole asked as he looked up at her.
"Tadakatsu and Lord Masamune were both here by receiving an invitation to join. Neither of them were threatened or anything. I find it a bit weird that I was the only from our world who was threatened" Aya reported, "Do you know why our world has elemental powers? No other world has something like this"
Her eyes were deep and serious as she looked at Sensei Garmadon. I could her element gathering power. I was a bit worried a fight would break out between the two of them.
"Unfortunately, even I don't know. I would have to look through Ninjago's history to understand that" Sensei Garmadon said seriously, "Unlike my brother, I would want to recall every important detail and explain it quickly, should the occasion arise"
Aya's expression softened as she understood. I sighed in relief. We then turned our attention back to other elemental fighters here.
"The fighters here serve no master and have managed to unlocked their own true potential" Sensei Garmadon said as he gazed at the very pale person, "For instance, that pale man. a distance relative to the Master of Light. Watch closely and you'll see how he's stayed hidden all these years"
Just like that, the man in a red suit just disappeared! I jumped back with Jay as we looked at where the elemental master of light vanished to. Cole let out a scream as Seliel took a step back when someone ran pass us very quickly. Then a person wearing a white track suit with red glasses stood and crossed his arms over his chest in confidence.
"Then there's Griffen Turner. Grandson to the Master of Speed" Sensei Garmadon said with a smile.
Mr. Turner ran in front us, "Hey! You can't lay a hand on me!"
He then ran away from us and pass a few other elemental masters! He's so fast!
"I'm faster than fast. Swifter than swift" Mr. Turner landed on a pole with his hands on his side.
We followed him. Wow. There are so many elemental masters here... I hope I can meet them all.
"Master of Speed? That's not an element" Jay said as he looked out from a railing.
"So asks the Master of Lighting" Sensei Garmadon teased as Aya laughed a bit.
Jay looked hurt as Cole pointed out, "Oh, snap, he got you there!"
We then returned to our stuff and sat near the crates. I placed my head in my hands as I thought about the elemental masters.
"And, uh, who's she?" Kai asked as he gazed at the girl in the orange hood.
"I do not know. Most of these I have not seen" Sensei Garmadon said as he placed his joined hands behind him, "But they will all be gunning for you. You are Ninja. You serve with honor. Here, that means very little"
Just then, the man with gauntlets walked up to the girl in orange and pulled her arm roughly. I looked up as Lloyd looked at Kai concerned.
"Well, maybe honor means something to me" Kai said determinedly as he walked over to them.
Oh, boy. Here we go. I rolled my eyes at him.
"Five bucks says the guy with the gauntlets beats Kai!" Seliel offered.
"I'll take a slice of that action!" Cole exclaimed as Aya sighed at their behavior.
You know, Cole has the perfect girl right there. Why did he go for Nya? Guys are really weird sometimes.
"It's ok. I can handle myself" the lady in orange reassured.
"This none of his business" the man said with a thick accent, "Karlof cold. Karlof just wants her cloak"
"You look like you got big enough mittens. Why not leave the gal alone?" Kai said seriously as he waved his hand.
The girl turned away from them.
"These not mittens" Karlof said as he clenched his metal fist, "These crush ninja! "
"Ha, I'd like to see you try" Kai boasted as he pushed the metal gauntlet away from him.
I could hear Seliel laugh a bit as Lloyd stood up.
"Save it for the Tournament, Kai" Sensei Garmadon advised strongly.
"Don't think Karlof afraid of you" Karlof said he clenched his fist.
"No, you don't think much at all, do you?" Kai incited with a smirk forming on his face.
I face palmed as Lloyd groaned in annoyance. Aya gasped in shock as Karlof picked up Kai by the collar of his shirt and held him in the air!
"Uh! Just jump in whenever you feel like it!" Kai exclaimed as he turned to his friends.
Jay and Cole stood up, ready to help their friend. I stood up, but Aya held me back as Seliel stood behind us.
"You say Karlof not smart?!" Karlof asked angrily.
Lloyd walked up to them as he tried to soothe their fight, "I'd say Karlof is plenty smart not to start something he can't finish"
We were tense. Karlof gently placed Kai on the ground, and then punched him far away from us!
I let out a scream as Karlof chuckled, "Guess Karlof not smart"
Lloyd, Jay, and Cole were ready to fight him, but Sensei Garmadon stood in front of them.
"Kai started this, he can finish it" he said seriously.
I glanced at Seliel and Aya. Aya shook her head as Seliel smirked. Kai picked himself up and groaned as he faced Karlof. The two of them glared as Kai lit his hands-on fire! Yep, ok. Kai's going to get himself hurt. Kai threw four fireballs at Karlof, but Karlof used his fists to block his fire and slammed his fists together to make himself strong and made of metal! Kai let out a gasp as Karlof ran towards him.
"Are we going to stop this?!" I whisper shouted to Aya.
"No. I want to see how this end" Seliel said as she ran after them.
I followed her with Lloyd behind me. Aya stood with Garmadon as she commented how they haven't really changed as much. Karlof slammed his fists on the ground as Kai jumped to the wall. Karlof swung his fists at Kai, but Kai ducked and rolled away. Karlof swung his fist and slammed Kai against the wall! When Kai hit the wall, he let out a pained grunt. Jay, Cole, Seliel, Lloyd, and I looked from behind the wall at the fight. Kai fell down and tried to pick himself up as Karlof towered over him. Karlof then punched Kai hard. We looked above as Kai flew over us and then landed on the end of the boat with a thud.
"Are we seriously not going to stop this?!" I shouted, "He could get hurt!"
"Relax" Lloyd reassured, "Kai can handle this"
I sighed. I don't want to be on the side lines! I nearly did that with Gracia, and she could've been really hurt! I hope Lloyd knows what he's doing. Kai groaned and picked himself up as he felt his head. He heard Karlof yell and looked up. Kai moved away and blocked all of Karlof's incoming punches until he realized he was literally standing on the edge of the boat. He seemed to have panicked, but then he was calm as he held his fist forward. He then moved away as Karlof charged off the edge. Kai let out a laugh as he walked away. Until Karlof broke through the roof and grab Kai's foot! As Kai tried to pull himself up, Karlof pulled him to the ground and tried to punch him. We ran over to them and heard them punching each other. Kai released a flurry of punches and then swiftly punched his stomach which pushed Karlof back! He's gotten stronger with hand to hand combat. Kai then lit his hands-on fire as Cole let out a whoa. We were watching from the hole in the roof Karlof created. Jay was grinning as Seliel encouraged Kai to beat him. Lloyd just grinned at his red friend. I held my hands close to my chest with worry. I hope Kai doesn't hurt himself. Kai and Karlof exchanged punches and then, Kai swiftly punched Karlof away.
"Go Kai!" Seliel shouted eagerly.
"Didn't you make a bet for him to lose?" Jay asked as he glanced at the girl with bright pink hair.
"So? Entertainment is entertainment" Seliel said as she looked at the fight.
Kai and Karlof were fighting at the paddles of the boat and tried to beat each other. They jumped and avoided each other's strikes until Karlof swiftly punched Kai to the ground! Kai let out a groan as he hit the ground, hard. Karlof then laughed as he raised his fist! Nope! That's it! I prepared to jump off the roof and help Kai, but Lloyd held me back by wrapping his arms around my waist!
"Enough!" Clouse shouted.
Karlof got away from Kai and powered down. I was relieved.
"Hey, why did you stop me?" I asked Lloyd as I turned to him angrily.
"Kai can handle himself well in a fight. You shouldn't have to get hurt because of someone else" Lloyd said seriously.
"Thank you" I said as I then realized where his arms are around me.
I quickly hid my face from him as Lloyd let me go.
"Pay up!" Seliel said in delight as she extended her hand out to Cole.
"Fine..." Cole said sadly as he took out five ducks and handed it to her.
The two of them walked towards the side of the boat as I picked up my bag. Aya walked beside me with a knowing smile on her face! Nope! She's not going to find out! She walked towards the side with her bag. I have to be serious right now! Kai rolled to his side as the girl in orange walked up to him.
"I'm sorry if I was cold to you earlier" she apologized as she helped him up.
However, I noticed an orange light coming from her... Who is she? She then walked away from Kai as he smiled in delight.
"We're here" Clouse announced, "Welcome to Chen's Island"
I walked up to Aya and saw the island. It's really big... Clouse then left us with something in his hands. He repeated Sensei Garmadon's words... What's he up to?
"I swore to never return" Sensei Garmadon said as he looked at the island.
"You know, you should neve swear. It's a sigh of weak verbal skills" Jay pointed out.
Lloyd gripped the rope bar as he said seriously, "If Zane's on that island, we'll find him. We have to"
"We'll find out where Lar is. We'll bring him home and figure out the mystery behind our powers" Aya said seriously.
That's right. We need to save our friends and find out what's going on. I'll make sure I can help everyone too. I just don't want us to be too divided in this tournament. I clutched my bag and felt my determination grow stronger. Let's do this.
