Tour Venue Twenty-Seven

This must be my shortest venue write up, mainly because I cannot translate Japanese but also because the venue is so new, it doesn't have much history yet.

The EX Theatre and accompanying EX Tower are based in Roppongi, an area of Tokyo known for its nightlife, retail, bar, restaurants and dance clubs.

Both buildings are part of major Japanese broadcasting company TV Asahi. The 17-story EX Tower office building includes entertainment space called the EX Theater which hosts a wide range of performances from live concerts to plays and musicals.

The EX stands for Excite, Expand, Experience.

The building is unique in that it has 300 custom media tubes on its façade that light up at night. The tubes are capable of showcasing graphics. Ads such as upcoming entertainment performances are displayed on the building.

The capacity inside the theatre is 1,746 standing or 920 seated and there is a mirror ball installed on the ceiling that is the first built-in LED lighting in Japan. The mirror ball self-fires according to the direction of performance and LED bars are also installed on the wall.
