Settling Things with Undyne
Sans was almost done with the medicine. He only had three doses left, and he'd be back to the age he was supposed to be. Papyrus hadn't asked any questions yet. Sans wasn't sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing. He hadn't even asked Sans to reiterate what Gaster had done to him. Someone who was begging for answers, though? Undyne. He was gonna have to give that fish something, sooner or later. Some sort of something to break the tension that had built up. Something to settle this little feud once and for all. But what could he tell her that would satisfy her and wouldn't change her perspective on Papyrus? Something that wouldn't confuse her. Something... like... the human! Stars, what had Frisk been doing while he had been a child? Sans wasn't sure and didn't know if he wanted to know, but he supposed he should rope Papyrus in on his plans so they could both know they were in the dark together. Maybe it would prompt Papyrus to ask questions, and Sans wouldn't have to feel so guilty about Papyrus finding some of his secrets out, the way he had.

Papyrus was happy to follow Sans back to Waterfall. He was nervous about talking to Undyne, however. Sans had told him about how he was gonna let Undyne in on some of his secrets. "Are You Sure, Brother? You... Keep Your Secrets For A Very Good Reason..." Sans tucked his hands into his pockets, looking down. Sans remembered when he did everything to keep Papyrus in the dark, when he was glad Papyrus didn't ask questions. Now, it felt like a slap to the face. Papyrus didn't wanna talk because Sans hadn't wanted him to. "it's ok, bro. you deserve to know. and undyne? well, it'll keep her off our backs." Papyrus nodded in understanding and knocked on Undyne's door. "Well, look who decided to show his face. All grown up again, too! What do you want, nerd?" Undyne looked between the brothers. Sans gave Undyne his serious face, catching her off guard. "i remembered what i was hiding from you. you wanna know, right?" The fish gave Sans a suspicious look but opened the door further to let them in. Sans and Papyrus went to sit, Papyrus giving Sans a confused look as they did.

"Alright, skeleton. Talk." Papyrus winced and turned to tell Undyne off. Sans, however, was unfazed. Honestly, Papyrus didn't know how Sans could ignore such rudeness. "i saw a human before i turned small. i wanted to get back out there and follow it. that's why i was nervous at the lab." Papyrus hadn't heard this before! He leaned in, curious as to what a human even looked like. Undyne leaned in to see if it was another lie. "i was sleeping on the job when papyrus woke me up for my hp appointment with alphys. of course, being the lazybones i am, i had papyrus carry me, but there it was, peeking out from behind a tree... i didn't say anything because i didn't know if it was an aggressive human or not. i just knew i needed to get back out there and see... but then i became a little baby bones." Sans shrugged. "that's all i can tell ya. i forgot everything i'd done in my adult life, and i don't know where the human went after. it's probably still sneaking around snowdin or waterfall by now." Undyne grunted and started to get on her armor. "Well, it's a damn good thing you told me! But don't think you're off the hook quite yet!" Sans only shrugged again, unbothered.
