Chapter Thirty-Seven

Third-Person POV

Dallas-Fort Worth Airport...

"The eyes of Texas are upon you, Kennedy Deveraux," her mother intoned as she dropped her teenaged daughter off at the drop-odd zone of the airport. "You already know that the Lancasters are making sure that York's boy is strongly allied with the Titan Club while those Outcasts are working hard to destroy the empire. Make sure that you work closely with the Yorks and the Dermotts to ensure that the young man isn't off-course."

Kennedy, dressed in her pastel-colored Dior ensemble, nodded as she pocketed her cellphone. "Marion said that things are just heating up and the Browning thug has called for some backup," she intoned while the drivers came to collect her luggage. "Trust me, Mom, that Berkeley isn't ready for this diva. I intend to make sure that the losers stay where they are while the populars remain on top. As for Kyle and Marcel? They'll be perfect for one another as Blue Sentry and Kevarix are making waves as the gayest superhero couple of the world. I want to make sure that nothing and no one tries to stop what's meant to be."

"Then you know what to do, right?" her father asked her.

Kennedy nodded as she stepped out of the limousine. "Obviously," she replied. "Take down any haters, get the willful on the winning side, and ensure that Marion finally has Browning for his own while his girlfriend is out of the picture. I better go because my flight is coming up. See you guys next week!"

The three-member family bade each other farewell before Kennedy ducked inside with her plane ticket in hand.

After the usual clearances and rituals, she soon was in the first-class waiting area and sipping on a cup of cappuccino. "Won't be long until I arrive in sunny Berkeley," she hummed. "Marion and I can't wait to turn out those Outcasts while living it up for the Thanksgiving holiday week! He's like the excellent brother that I never had, especially when he's my GBF!"

"Attention," came the voice of the speaker on the PA. "Flight 202 from Dallas to Berkeley is ready for the first-class passengers. All first-class passengers, please make your way to the boarding area."

"Showtime," Kennedy hummed as she finished her coffee and grabbed her handbag. "Look out, Berkeley, because Hurricane Kennedy is on a roll to you!"

And as she strode to the boarding area where the ticket attendant was waiting for her, she was already planning the rest of her senior year as well as Kyle and Marcel's wedding with the idea of her being at the  center of it all as the Texan socialite. In her mind, she wanted everything to be perfect.

Meanwhile, at Medgar Evers International Airport in Jackson, Mississippi...

"Flight 212 from Jackson to Berkeley is now boarding," came the voice  from the PA as Kelante tossed the last of his croissant sandwich away. "All passengers are to make their way to the loading area."

"Showtime," he said to himself as he collected his messenger bag, his luggage already loaded into the waiting plane as he collected his plane ticket. "Thank the heavens above that I don't do coach because Mom said that I deserve to fly first-class like everyone else."

His cellphone rang as he soon handed his ticket to the attendant before making his way to the terminal. "Hello?"

"Kelante," came the voice of Albert Tillman from the other end. "Are you about to board?"

The young man nodded. "Takeoff is in thirty mintues, so I need to make this call short."

"Right. I just wanted to let you know that your aunt and I will be there to pick you up before lunchtime," his great-uncle commented. "Well, it'll still be morning when you get here due to the time change, but you get my gist. All the same, we'll have something for you when we get to Kyle's house."

"Okay. But we gotta make sure that we find out what's really going down with my cousin because something tells me that we need a 'Hail Mary' of a miracle if we want things to turn the tide for us."

"Ain't that the truth? Listen, I'm letting you go so you can get settled in. I'll see you at the airport, Kelante. May the Magnolia State's glory be with you."

"Same, Uncle."

They disconnected as Kelante greeted the flight attendants and went to the first-class section before silencing his phone. "Fee-fie, fo-fish. Look out, Berkeley. Here comes Kelante Parrish," he said as he took his seat near the aisle. "Superstorm Kelante is going to set it all on fire! And as for my cousin, I plan to have him free from this twisted fantasies that those heathens made. Dead or alive, he'll be leaving that town with his grandparents and the other Outcasts in tow. Let's rock this joint!"

Accepting some complimentary noise-canceling headphones, the young man from Waxiacalatchee, Mississippi was soon relaxing as the plane was getting ready for takeoff for a two-hour flight to California with him planning for the rescue mission of one Kyle La'Van Jan'Twaine York. Nothing's going to stand in my way, he thought as the plane was about to taxi off the runway and fly into the skies. Uncle Brian and Aunt Lisa aren't ready for my debut in town and neither are those superpowered pretty people!

He was sure of it.

Child, this next chapter is when these two will meet face to face as one is ready to enhance the Popular's streaks while the other is ready to raise some hell! And once they come face to face with each other...it's "Alexis vs. Krystal" from Dynasty all over again! Due to the hilarity and insult exchanges that will follow, laughter discretion is strongly advised!
