Chapter Eleven

Marcel's POV

Kyle York.

From the moment my friends and I met him and learned that he's an atypical nerd who's a fiery little thing, I knew he was going to be a handful for anyone to deal with. And boy, this kid right here can give a lot of people grief all because everyone expects him to be someone he's not.

I think that he's ignoring the true potential that lies within him and hides the real version of himself out of fear of being accused of being a showoff. I could understand that.

His relationship with his parents could also factor his cynical and astute personality- his dad being the worst of them all since he's a lawyer who expects nothing but pure perfection out of everyone (even his wife who's half as bad as he is). I don't know about Kyle's sisters yet, but I bet that there's no love between the trio since the girls took after their mother and all. The connections that he does share with are his maternal grandparents with their values and how they raised him to be practical.

Kyle needs a change of direction in his life, but he has already too much going on. On the one hand, I do want him to embrace the person he can become and learn about his true purpose that his family has for him. But on the other hand, he's been dealt with a lot of hard hands in life before so there's no telling how things might go. One thing is clear in regards to those nobodies, especially that newcomer: he cannot join their side and ruin what everyone has in store for him. If he hears about the big reveal from any of them and he defects, then Mr. York will not hesitate to take drastic actions to ensure that the legacy will be fulfilled.

And in a way, neither am I.

Kyle's playing a different ball game from everyone else's. And even if he  does attend Chianna's party this weekend, he's not going to back down from his own plans. I can already tell. I'll give him one thing, however. He has a lot of grit to risk it all to be himself. He can play poker like any professional- not because he could win but because he has nothing else to lose.

He could also play a killer game of chicken.

But if he keeps this up, he'll play his game with the wrong people or at the wrong moment and will lose. And by then, I'll make sure that he's broken down to nothing before I rebuild him from the ground up.

************

Christina Velasquez, the Queen of Diamonds.

Kyle York.

A frail little nothing with a bad family who expects him to conform to everyone's standards but surprises me with his tenacity to want nothing to do with Marcel and Company.

I'll admit that he has a certain flair that can attract and repel people in his own way. And when I met him, I thought that he would be like everyone else around Sandifer Bay. But that's not the case.

And since he doesn't know what my ex and his friends (alongside his own family) has planned for him, it's all the more reason to make sure that he doesn't get involved with it at all costs. I told him to stay away from Marcel not because I wanted him (That ship has long sailed, believe me), but because I know what could happen if Mr. York reveals the true plan for that kid. And I'm not going to let that happen by a long shot.

I have to fulfill the promise I made to his late paternal grandparents, his still-living maternal grandparents, and even to the other Outcasts- especially to Tamarious.

Kyle York, you don't really know the whole story going on around Berkeley, but I pray to God that you don't because there's no telling what can happen when you do find out. I'm sorry for what's coming your way, but I have to know where you stand. Either you're with the Outcasts...or with my ex.

Your choice.

**********************

Mavis Telfair, the Queen of Spades

Kyle York.

Spunky, street-smart, no-nonsense: everything that I like about a bloke who's not the stereotype of American nerds.

It's kind of sad that his parents want him to conform to this paper town full of dolls and shit. And it's more pathetic that he has to deal with an asshole he has to call his father because he wasn't the all-American jock with an IQ of a peanut. No, readers. Kyle has that Bette Davis persona that can either charm the honey from the bees or make them sting a person if wronged.

I knew that Kyle would going to need some help, especially regarding Marcel Dermott- the pig of a Yank who used my brother and have him become a part of the gang. And since my arrival after my exile, I knew that the time was right to make sure that Kyle doesn't become one of them.

But something tells me that there's something more ominous is in the works and Kyle could be in the middle of it all. It's all the more reason to come back to Sandifer Bay and fulfill my promise to the Outcasts that I became fast friends with and to my late grandparents: expose those Beautiful Teens and bring them down alongside the York empire once and for all!

Kyle York, I hope you and I can be allies. But more importantly, I hope you never find out about your true purpose when Homecoming week arrives. I need to make sure that you and your grandparents leave town and never return.

Fee-fie, foe-fair. Look out, world. Here comes Mavis Telfair!

Ooh, child! You already know that a LOT of shit is about to go down, folks! And it looks like Christina's not the villain of this story after all- more like an antihero with a mission! And Mavis Telfair has the same goal in mind, but how she is connected will blow your mind! As for Marcel? Well...let's just say that I have a LOT to say about him, but I'm keeping that to myself!

Anyway, the next chapter's when Kyle's getting ready for the house party and following sleepover when he gets an unexpected surprise visitor! You do NOT want to miss out on what's ahead, folks, because I got this story pumping like fried bologna!
