Um... Well...
I don't exactly know where the inspiration came from here, but it did and now I've got a reasonably ok poem.
I'll admit it's a bit chunky and very repetitive, but it could have turned out worse. Xx

Tear at my mind, a little piece for each day
Squish my happiest dreams into a frightful display
Slip words in my thoughts to haunt me while I sleep
Break me slowly and watch me weep

Break me slowly
Destroy my confidence when I stand before you
Ruin my smile when I act happy out of the blue
Dismantle my words, have no care for the strife
Break me slowly, let me beg for my life

Break me slowly
Shatter my glass heart when I show it around
Cast aside my emotions when I let them resound
Don't hold anything back, you're always to blame
Just break me slowly in your torturous game
