Amelia

The lab was a complete wreck. All of Professor Friday's machines were either torn apart manually, broken beyond repair, or missing. The cabinets were ransacked, files thrown across the floor. The glass case where I first saw Lorita was shattered, bits and pieces of it scattered on the ground.

"What happened here?" Connor asked, looking around with a concerned look.

"Let's find the Professor." I said.

Everyone nodded in agreement, and we began to call his name. I looked behind the desks, while Lorita scanned the area. Which, by the way, I had no idea was a feature in Lorita. We soon realized he was nowhere in the lab, so we decided to venture out beyond it. The hallway was also a mess, vases that once stood tall and proud now smashed against the rug like nothing. Paintings and pictures were ripped off of the walls, even the wallpaper was torn, and the lights were smashed. Sparks flew off of the destroyed lights, making Lorita and I uneasy.

"I don't like this." Charitie whimpered.

Evelyn took her friend's hand and led her forward. "I don't, either." She admitted. "But we have to find the Professor."

"... What if he's not here?" Razz questioned.

"N-no. He... he has to be here." Said Becky.

"I don't know, Beck." Madie said, looking down at her watch. "It doesn't look like he would be here."

"We were only gone for a few minutes, though!" Protested Samantha.

"Wait, what do you mean, 'a few minutes'? We were gone for, like, two days!" I shouted, stunned.

"That's not how it works for us." Alex said. "Two days is equivalent to only seven to eight minutes. It's just how this weird Time Travel stuff works."

"Let's keep looking," Charitie urged.

We all continued searching, each room with a new disaster to be found. You know that 80's TV room Lorita and I liked? Yeah, it's now a demolition zone. The first room I ever saw when I came here was a heap of destruction. The really rude part about it was that, in the kitchen, someone decided they were hungry, and took all of the food. Even the food that wasn't thawed out! We searched the entire downstairs, and now, we were all at the bottom steps of the stairs. We looked up at the darkness, each of us not knowing if we were allowed up there now.

"So, should we go?" I asked.

"There's nothing for us down here. Maybe we could find clues up there." Suggested Lorita.

"I'm actually kinda scared of what could be up there." Said Jericho.

"We all are..." Breathed Connor.

Evelyn shifted her weight as her copper eyes stared above. "What was so important about the upstairs that made Professor Friday want to hide it from us?"

Razz took a deep breath. "Let's go find out." She held onto the banister as she took the first few steps.

"It'll be alright, Razz." Said Jason.

"Thanks, dude." Razz acknowledged.

The faces of our watches turned into blue flashlights as we entered the dark, each of us holding onto each other's hands for comfort and safety. When we reached the upstairs, we were all slightly sweating from nervousness. It was extremely dark, and it was hard to see anything, but our watches were able to give off enough light so we didn't run into a wall.

"Which room should we check first?" Razz asked, looking back at us. I was at the way back, so I couldn't see anything.

"The one in front of us would be good to start with," said Charitie.

Razz nodded and walked forward, opening the door that was in front of us and walking inside. It was dark, and Razz felt the walls for a light switch while we began our search in the dark.

"I found it!" Razz shouted, then she flipped the switch. The room we were in looked to be like a study, and like every room in the house, it was torn to bits. Books were thrown off of the wooden shelves, and for some reason, Evelyn and Charitie looked sad at the torn books. A black desk was in the middle of the room, papers scattered across it. A lamp was clipped onto the desk, but the lightbulb was destroyed. The shades on the windows were pulled down, blocking the outside world from view. We didn't find anything in there, so we left to explore the other rooms.

To be honest, it was pretty freaky upstairs. Probably because of the darkness, the situation, and the tension, but nonetheless it was terrifying! Still on the search, we found another room, and we eagerly entered it.

"Professor Friday!" Evelyn shouted. "Stop playing hide and seek! We don't like it! Where are you?!"

Connor flipped a light switch, and we found ourselves in Friday's room. His bed was made neatly, which stood out from the destruction at our feet. We quickly began to look around, seeing that this was the very last room to look in. I knelt down and skimmed through some files, finding a key in one of them. "Hey, guys, check this out." I said as I moved the key around in my hand.

Everyone gathered around, and I showed them the rusty, golden key in my hands.

"A key!" Charitie exclaimed. "But what does it unlock?"

Connor shrugged, humming an 'I don't know'.

"Maybe it unlocks a secret room!" Lorita said.

"But where would he hide it?" Madie inquired.

"Let's look around." Evelyn said, straightening from her previous hunched over position.

What do you think we've been doing for the past few minutes? I thought, but kept it to myself.

"Amelia, you should keep looking through the cabinets." Ordered Lorita. "There could be something else inside."

I rolled my eyes as the old Lorita returned. But, I did what she said, and kept looking. I pulled out another file and read it over, disapointed when it just turned out to be an electric bill. We all jumped as we heard a crash, and we turned in the direction the noise came from.

"What was that?" Charitie squeaked, getting closer to Evelyn and Madeline.

Evelyn stepped towards the sound slowly, trying hard not to scare whatever was there. She quietly hummed a tune, trying to calm her senses probably. Of course, it was a song about dragons. From How To Train Tour Dragon, probably. After all, it's Evelyn! She knelt down in front of where the sound came from, then gasped. "Hey, there, little guy." She whispered.

"What is it?" Connor asked eagerly, walking over to her.

"Stay where you guys are," she instructed, "you might scare it even more."

We all obeyed and froze.

"Come on." Evelyn said gently. "Don't be shy. We won't hurt you."

I heard a little robotic noise, and I swallowed. What on Earth is it? I thought as I slowly put down the file I held.

"What's your name?" Evelyn continued quietly, holding her hand down for whatever she saw.

"Mi-di-mi-di-Microoooo-Chip!" The thing said, it's robotic voice going up and down the scale as it spoke.

"...Microchip?"

"Werrrrrrp..."

Evelyn slowly picked up whatever was at her feet. "Did Professor Friday make you?"

"Weeerp... Bleep!"

"Where is he?"

"... Werrrrr..." Microchip, at least I think that's its name, sounded sad.

"Did something happen to him?"

"Merier. Weeepppow. Bleep werp."

Evelyn stood up and turned to us, keeping her eyes on the little robot in her hands. The robot was only ten inches tall, and had a very small body. It had spider like legs, three on each side, and they were made of thin metal. There were joints in the legs, allowing the robot to be able to move and bend its limbs. Its eyes were like Wall-E's--Wall-E was the robot Disney made, if you didn't know--in a way. They were big, and were its entire head. It was royal blue, and had gears inside a gap in its chest and inside the eye sockets. Its eyes were an electric blue, and its pupils were silver. It had a gap in its neck that looked like a charger would fit in it, and it had wires coming from its eyes to the gap in its chest.

"What is that?" Razz asked.

"This is Microchip." Evelyn said, still staring at the little robot. "I think she might know what happened to Professor Friday."

"Why is it a she?" I asked. "How do you know?"

"Because I do." Evelyn said. She sat down on the bed, and Microchip crawled out of her hand and walked around awkwardly on the surface.

"Woooooooooorrrrrr!" Microchip said as she almost tripped on the covers.

"Whoa, be careful, Micro." Evelyn warned, catching Microchip before she fell over. "Now, what happened to Professor Friday?"

Microchip looked up at Evelyn, and her Wall-E eyes became more like Wall-E's when they lowered. Microchip looked at each and every one of us, then looked at a bare spot in the room. A hologram came out of her eyes, beaming onto the wall. We all watched as Professor Friday stood up from a chair and left the room, leaving the door open. The hologram began to follow Professor Friday, and I guessed we were looking in Microchip's perspective. We watched as Microchip followed Friday down the stairs quietly, and saw Professor Friday hurriedly open the door. Several people stood in front of him, all dressed in dark clothing.

"How are you here?" Friday asked, then he was bashed on the head and knocked out. I covered my mouth as I gasped.

Microchip, or the hologram version, made a surprised noise, then ran upstairs and hid where we found her. People came into the room and ripped everything apart, taking several files, tools, machines, and basically anything valuable or important looking. Microchip coward in fear at the sight, trying to keep quiet the entire time. When the people left, Micro stayed in her place, utterly terrified. The hologram stopped, and Microchip looked at us.

"Man, this is bad." Said Connor.

"We have to find him." Razz said.

"Maybe the key you found will give us a clue, Amelia." Mentioned Jason.

"Maybe..." I walked over to Microchip, then bent down and showed her the key. "Do you know what this unlocks, Microchip?"

The little blue robot looked at the key, then took the key in her thin front legs and looked at it closer. "Weeeerrrp... I know, I know, I know!" She leapt off the bed and crawled away, leaving the room while awkwardly holding the key.

"Quick! Follow her!" Lorita ordered.

I was already zipping after the little robo, everyone else behind me.

"Bleep werp bleep, this way!" Microchip said as she turned a corner.

We dashed after her, following the little robot in the dim light.

"Werp! Wee!" Micro turned another corner.

We all almost slammed into a wall, Connor saving us by stopping abruptly.

"Weep werp. Burrrrrrrr." Microchip looked up at us, trying to get a good grip on the key.

"What? There's nothing here." I said.

"Wait," Charitie knelt down, then showed Alex's light onto a small door that we could all possibly crawl through. She reached towards it and tried to open it, but it only jostled. She soon discovered a keyhole, and then looked at us. "This needs a key."

Microchip lifted the key in her thin arms, trying to give it to Charitie. Charitie gently picked it up and examined the key, then looked at us.

"You guys sure you want to do this?" She asked.

"If it gets us closer to Friday," Madie said, "then we're always sure."

Charitie nodded, then stuck the key in the keyhole and turned it. There was a click, and the tiny door creaked open. We all looked nervously at each other.

"So," said Jason from Razz's wrist, "who's going first?"
