Dream Talk
Doc, 3rd person
===
Doc sat by his table of notes, instead of working on the notes, he was sleeping on them. Probably due to the lack of sunlight and sleep the Creeper man received. A small beam of sunlight shifted through his windows, shining right onto his eyes. Doc stirred awake, sitting up straight, he stared blankly at the notes in front of him. He stared at the diligent and small writing on each page, it was far too small for normal-people to read it properly.
Knock, knock knock!
The sudden sound jolted Doc out of his trance, he got up but tripped over his feet. Dang.
"Doc?" The person at the door called.
Doc shuffled onto his feet, dusting himself off. "Coming! Give me a second..."
Doc raced down the stairs and peeked out the empty side of the half-mansion. It was... Jevin and Cleo? Doc opened the door and was immediately jumped by the two Hermits.
"Doc, I..." Cleo said quickly, the rest of the sentence covered up and lost in Jevin's own chorus of chaos. They both spoke at the same time, talking so fast it sounded like gibberish.
Doc put a hand up, silencing the two, "One at a time... or just simply what you're asking, please."
The Cleo breathed in, "We had a weird dream about snakes-"
"Snakes?" Jevin retorted, "No, you had a dream about a snake! Mine was about space and a weird dragon-shaped void! It was creepy."
Well these sounded awfully familiar. Doc rubbed his eyes and sighed, now he has to roleplay as a therapist or something. He didn't even get his cup of coffee yet.
"Come in, come in..." Doc sighed, "Take a seat and let me grab a cup of coffee, then we can settle things down. Okay?"
Cleo and Jevin glanced at each other and nodded. Doc stepped aside for the two confused hermits to make their way to his living room. Doc sluggishly dragged himself out into the sunlight and to his outdoor-stationed coffee center. He dumped out the old, already-rinsed coco powder out and filled the container with a new batch of powder. While the water simmered through the powder and into Doc's goat-cup, Doc thought up of theories as to what Jevin and Cleo's dream might be. According to the two of them, Cleo had a dream about snakes and Jevin had a dream about space-dragons or something. It wasn't much to go off of, but it must mean something important if the two freaked out like that.
Doc shook off the anxious thoughts away and focused on absorbing as much sunlight as possible, coffee was one thing, photosynthesis and food is another. Watching as the last few drops of coffee drip into Doc's cup, he swiped up a few cups of Half & Half and popped them in along with the coffee. Taking a small sip, he entered his room, grabbed his notes, a pen and a book, and left to meet Jevin and Cleo in the living room.
A moment of silence passed through the hermits as Doc flipped through his notes, "Would you like anything to drink?"
Cleo shifted, and nodded, "Yeah... do you have tea or anything? Maybe a cup of spiders?"
"A cup of spiders?" Jevin repeated, confused.
"Yeah, a cup of spiders. Have you never heard of that drink?" Cleo asked, stunned.
Jevin shook his head, "Never! It sounds a bit odd but then again, I don't drink anything but water."
Doc cleared his throat, "So, a cup of tea and some water? I'll prepare a cup for both of you. You can tell me about your dream while I'm at it, okay? But please, one at a time."
Cleo and Jevin exchanged a glance as Doc started heating up some water for Cleo's tea.
"I had a dream about snakes," Cleo started, "Or, actually, just one snake. The dream actually started pretty normal, with me making flower crowns. But then this snake came up to me and scared the life out of me. The oddest part of the dream was that the snake started talking. A snake- speaking human words!"
Jevin raised an invisible eyebrow, "That doesn't sound as scary as a giant void-dragon ingratiating you about a 'him'."
"Yeah, true," Cleo said, gratefully taking the cup of tea Doc handed her, "But the snake spoke in some sort of riddle. It was confusing and had something to do with Grian, I think."
Doc hummed, writing all this down in his book, "Is that why you came? To look for my help?"
Cleo nodded and sipped her tea before continuing, "The end of the dream was what really scared me though... I don't know how to describe it but the moment the snake disappeared from my dream, it felt like I was watching someone get torn into two pieces- it was terrifying. I couldn't even move after I woke up."
"That is... horrific. You win, your dream is a lot creepier," Jevin said, clutching his cup of water like his life depended on it, "The closest thing to terrifying is when the void-dragon told me that someone's going to die 'if we don't work faster'."
Doc nimbled on his finger as he took in all this information. "Jevin, what else did this void-dragon tell you?"
"The dragon-thing didn't really tell me anything, it more of asked me a bunch of things," Jevin said, gulping down the rest of his water. "A lot of the questions I didn't have answers to, and to be honest, I didn't really understand them."
Doc hummed, "I see... So, the Void-Dragon is Tyiime, or more commonly known as Time."
Cleo blinked, "You just said 'time' twice. Are they not the same thing?"
"No, they are not," Doc said, he held up a hand to his redstone eye and pressed a button. Soon, it illuminated a nearby wall with a projection with poorly drawn stick figures. It was good enough to be call a presentation though, "The first 'time' I said is spelled with a 'y' and two 'i's. That is the name of the Void-Dragon. However, Tyiime is also known as time, spelled regularly this time. Tyiime is pretty much time, but given form and mind, basically a representation of time. Tyiime can control and manipulate time, but not in a way that'd you imagine with Time Travelers. Time and Tyiime are tied to each other, making it so that if we mess with time, we are also tampering with Tyiime, it goes vise versa as well."
"You... lost me," Jevin said, confused, "This is so much more complex than I thought... I'm gonna have to think about this for a second..."
Doc shrugged, turning his projector-eye off, "It's fine, not many living beings can comprehend the logic of Tyiime and time. So I understand if you need a breather. As for you, Cleo, may I ask you what the snake said to you?"
"Of course," Cleo said nervously, placing down her cup on a wooden table, "it was something like... 'Time is running short, is the machine ready? Time is running short,' and then something about time. 'Time is running short, will you help? Time is running short, we pushed it back to the limit.' Afterwards, I think the snake was going to say something else, but I woke up and that... scene with the people happened."
"Yes, it is very much about Grian," Doc said thoughtfully, "The 'is the machine ready?' part is indicating to the time machine we are working on. As for the 'will you help' part, you've already helped by telling us about your dream. The 'we pushed it back to the limit', I think it means that we can't have any extensions for 'deadlines'. The scene with the people, I really do not know what that means. I think it's telling us what will or what is happening to time and Tyiime? I'm not sure."
The three sat in silence for a few seconds before Jevin opened his mouth to say something else, but was cut short by someone barging into Doc's house. Everyone's heads snapped up at the cause of the ruckus, it was three people. Scar, Joe and Stress.
"Uh..." Scar looked around nervously, "Are we interrupting something?"
Cleo laughed and shook her head, "Nah! I don't think so at least."
"No, you're not, Scar. Have you got the beacon? Or... at least, the specific piece of it?" Doc asked, closing his notebook.
Joe nodded, "We did! Are we ready to get the beacon up and running, now?"
Doc nodded, smiling, "Yes. Yes we are."

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I AM IN SO MUCH BACK PAIN.
Oh well, hello. Sorry that I couldn't get this out before 2022. But uh... happy new years! I hope I didn't take too long (well, I kinda did... Sorry)
I hope everyone's having a nice day though, I was actually planning on pushing this chapter out before Thanksgiving, but stuff happened and then I had to push it back a little. Sorry for the wait. I hope I didn't confuse anyone from Tyiime and time. I actually need to get around to editing the previous chapters so that it's up to date with the current situation. Fun fact, the Vyrmms actually did not have names when I planned it out and I only recently gave them names.
I have all this planned out-ish. I guess I just have a outline of what will happen. So far, we only have 5-ish more chapters to go before this story is wrapped up. It's about time I finished this lol- Especially with the new Season coming up.
Have a nice Mornevenoon, cya!
(btw, what was your reaction to the Season 8 ending? It was pretty cool imo)
