Chapter 18- Assortments seeker's
"Seth, I need your help?"
"Why do you need my help for?"
"There's this thing I lost last year. I must have missed it while I was packing up my door room, but I'm pretty sure I know where it's now. Still, its gonna be hard to spot and an extra set eyes would be fantastic. Do you wanna help me try and find it?"
"You can count on me! Cause you are my friend why not! Wait wait! How about my Katilda will he follow us?"
"Let hold them in the cage for meantime when we are back we will come for them. Right?!"
"All gay!" Seth slang and they headed towards the cage in the tarp and places their Hiddens inside.
"Can we go for now?"
"Awesome I have a feeling you're going to like this.." He followed Joe through the campus and down a hallway very similar to the one from earlier. He lead him past several doors, and right into dead end. "My first day here was awful! I didn't really know anyone at first, but I figured that thanks to my Thief scholarship, I'd at least have my teammates. And then, next thing I know, I'm running naked across the lawn chasing the clothes my captain magics to life while I was in the showers."
"Really? My point is... that day sucked, but there isn't a single moment since then that I haven't regret coming here. Especially not now."
"I think I have pass here before!"
"Hang on a second," Joe pressed his palms together, then began moving his hands back and forth in front of a wall; as if wiping a steam from a mirror. With each move, the wall seem to melt away, revealing a door behind it.
"Whoa... How do you do that? There was a wall, and now..."
"Invisibility wards are pretty basic. The key is mowing where to look. Now watch this." Joe clenched his hands into fists. Then he pressed his knuckles together and took a deep breath. "Here we go." He exhaled and placed two fingers against the doorknob. After hearing a satisfying clicked, he opened the door. "Wait, did you just magically unlock the door?" Seth enquired of, "Yeah. That's spells a little more challenging Metal's usually tough to work with, but it's close to Earth so I do alright."
Seth shook his head in disbelief as Joe lead him inside; The room was packed full of objects. Boxes overflow with colorful knick-knacks, and shelves bend under the weight of an assortment of curious. To Seth left, a stuffed raven caws loudly. There was a thin aisle that winds through, giving him just enough space to walk. Joe started to rifled through the shelves. "Wow..." His eyes flicked about, unable to take everything in. He spotted a candle glowing with a bright purple flame, and a large, spiky ball of metal hovering in mid-air.
"The thing we're looking for is a silver ball, about the size of my fist, with an onyx button at the top."
"I see why you needed the help..." A bell rang, and after looking around, he spotted in the hand of an eerie doll. It smiled down at Seth from a high shelf, and rang the bell again. "Wow. I hate that. What is this place?"
"It's a lost and found of sorts. Anything students forget on campus ends up in here. I think the Professors put confiscated items in here too, hence the wards." As Seth walked further into the room, he caught sight of a jar full of shiny jagged ovals, shimmering in the overhead light. "These are beautiful!"
"Dragon Ministry scales. I wonder what they're doing down here... That's a lot of money gone to waste."
Voice: Findertook!
Seth stiffened at the sound and slowly turn, expecting to see someone behind him. "Oh, ignore that thing. It's just going to spew nonsense at you."
Seth eyes fell on a pendant, with a woman's face in profile carved into an alabaster shell. "Why's this here?" The woman's mouth suddenly moved!
Pendant: Thibity!
"What language is that?"
"Honestly, I don't have a clue. I'm guessing it was some kind of prank gift." Joe sat through some boxes behind Seth while Seth scanned the rest of the room. Seth laughed as he caught sight of a unicycle propped up in the corner. "You're not telling me magical unicycles are a thing, are you?"
"Last year some kid thought it'd be fun to enchant it to fly. The professors confiscated it after he fell off it about three stories up. Turns out unicycle don't like to be enchanted."
Seth wandered over to an opened box full of unusual objects and started picking through it. As he picked a crystal ball, he noticed a jagged crack running along one side of it. "Is this really a crystal ball? Like a see-the-future crystal ball?"
"It was. It looks likes it's broken now though. That's probably why it's down here."
Seth stared into the crystal, but it just reflected the light in the room. "Am I supposed to see something?"
"It depends on how good you are at scrying. But with that crack in the glass, it's even more unlikely."
He set it back inside the box, and tendrils of white smoke curled inside the glass. He walked a little further down the aisle, squinting at the shelves. A metallic glint catched his eye, and he picked up a silver ball. "Hey, Joe! I found your... thing!"
"What? Nice! I knew inviting you along was a smart move." His thumb slides over the diamond-shaped piece of onyx at the top, and, with a click, several panels popped out on all sides.
"Whoa..." Seth looked up at the ceiling. The lights in the room was dimmed, and all around the room, sprinkled across the clutter, was... "Stars."
"It's a star-tracker. It maps the rotation of stars! They're a tool for Astroweavers mostly, but I found this one here a while ago."
"Astroweavers?"
Joe's voice came from behind Seth, suddenly very close. "They maintain constellations mostly. A lot of Air-ATLs go into that field after graduation."
"Not in school!"
"Nah, Earth-ATLs are a little more... grounded than that. I'm thinking of majoring in natural preservation sciences. I just like having a star tracker. It makes me feel bigger than myself, being able to see the stars so close and in real time like this."
"What do you think? Worth finding?"
Yeah... But the company was better! It was nice being able to spend more time with you."
"Yeah. It really, really was." Seth glanced up at him as the stars around him twinkled and shift. Joe saw him looking and he gave Seth a teasing grin that make Seth face heat up. Joe reached out and placed his hand over Seth, covering the tracker. The panel folded in, and the stars disappeared.
<LOST AND FOUND; You explored the hidden room with Joe>
"We should get out of here. I don't like to leave the ward on the door down for too long."
"Sure. Could you show me to the dorm? This campus is huge, and I tried to find it myself, I'd probably end up sleeping on the front lawn." Joe chuckled as he lead Seth out of the lost and found. Outside he followed Joe to a building on the other side of campus. A plaque on the building's door reads, 'Hidden Residence Halls.'
"Here you go. Once you get inside someone'll help you find your room, I'm sure of it. Hey, and thanks again, Seth. I appreciate you helping me find my star tracker."
"Don't worry about it! You've helped me out so much today, I had to return the favor."
"See you around?"
"Joey I want to buy some of the orbs where can I get some?"
"Seth, Macfarlane shop the wood nymph!"
"Alright, the girl we met in the Hall Of Fame?"
"Yes, tomorrow meet me at my dorm and we will find some to buy!"
He gave Seth a nod before walking away. Seth steeled himself and pushed open the door to the dorms.
Inside he saw Optimus hold a mob with a plastic bucket dipping the mob inside. "Optimus, what are you doing here?"
"Seth, I will be waiting for you at the library for the last time school service assignment."
"Huh?" Seth pampered. "Before Burton Goatte will raise his anger on us, again, you saw the last time what he did? Don't be late in the night I will be waiting for you. See you!" Optimus said it last words and walked away from the dorm.
"Oh, goddamnit, everyday this, everyday that! Why I can't because my insolence to him at the opening. Okay! I will."
