Chapter Twenty: Control

Kaitlyn:

Once arriving inside the jet, Steve walks towards a leather seat and gently places me onto it as I offer him a small smile in appreciation.

"You're safe now, Kaitlyn," he whispers, kneeling in front of me, concern flowing through his eyes. I nod my head softly and don't break eye contact with him.

"Kat? Are you alright?" I hear Natasha ask using my nickname to bring comfort to my ears.

I close my eyes as I sigh internally, my mind flickering to the past events of the past few days. My brain relays all of the memories as they flash inside of my head.

First, it was watching my colleagues being butchered in front of my eyes. I was helpless, and I couldn't do anything to save them, my job was to leave the facility and I even failed to do that.

Next, was my close friend being hypnotised to become a psychopathic God's minion. I couldn't save Clint, and I wish I did. He was one of the only people in my life who accepted me for who I am, he wasn't afraid of me, and now I may have lost him.

And, the last straw was being kidnapped by the psychopath and used to lure my additional teammates to him.

"She's had a God capture her Natasha, I don't think she is just going to be alright," Steve emphasises, concern lacing his tone as I watch him walk over towards her in the cockpit.

"Down boy," I call jokingly as I smirk across at Steve who raises his brows at my playful nature.

"I'll be okay, Nat," I reply with a smile on my lips as I notice her turn to glance at me with a small smirk on her face.

"You're made of strong stuff, Kat, I should know since I helped build that," she comments playfully as I close my eyes nodding my head in agreement with her.

I rest my head against the seat and let my mind lull into subconsciousness for a moment. My body releases all of its tensions and anxieties as I feel my body begin to slowly shut down into sleep. However, just before I let sleep take over, I feel a light sheet being draped across my body.

I open my eyes and see a tall man in a red and gold metal suit staring down at me with a gentle shine in his eyes.

"Heya kiddo, how's the head doing? Do you need any paracetamol?" Tony asks me kindly as he begins to look through the medication cabinet in the jet.

"No thanks, Tony. If you have something which can eradicate the past few days though, that would be perfect," I joke as Tony looks over his shoulder at me smirking.

"Then the only thing I can offer you is some booze," he suggests half-joking.

"Only if you're buying, Grandpa," I joke in response as he chuckles at me.

"The cat shows her claws," he mocks with humour, holding out his hands and mimicking a feline.

I shake my head laughing under my breath and close my eyes again.

Previously, I had told both Steve and Tony about the headaches I had been getting but I never told them that the reason behind them were the visions. I didn't want to worry them further than they already were.

Besides, I wasn't the priority here, Loki was and the reason as to why he wanted the Tesseract.

Despite having my eyes closed, I can still feel the presence of another pair staring straight at me. I sigh and realise that I will not be able to simply just go to sleep and open my eyes whilst cautiously sitting up.

I see Loki sitting in the seat opposite me with his hands cuffed.

When did he get there? I question internally as I observe the God watching me.

Once he notices my eyes on him, a smirk begins to spread across his lips. My eyes continue to hold his gaze as I block out everything else surrounding us.

On this jet at the moment, it is just myself and him.

It remains like this for a couple of minutes until I feel another headache travelling across my mind.

"You are slowly getting too much to handle and I would hate for the guards to take you to the cells," Loki says to the woman who is sat on the floor. She looks him directly in the eyes], her eyes narrowing as a snarl crosses her lips. However, instead of acknowledging him further, I watch as she closes her eyes and ignores him.

"Don't you close your eyes on me, Katrina," he spits at her.

Within seconds, I watch as her eyes snap open and her body jumps into the air. She wraps her hand around his throat and growls at him, her eyes brightening as she did, anger displayed for all to see.

"What has happened to you Loki?! You have changed Loki! And not for the better!" she exclaims angrily as I notice a conflict of emotions cross his eyes.

I hold my head in pain and try to concentrate on anything else but the pain.

Steve looks at me with concern written all across his face. He stops his conversation with Tony and then makes his way over to me.

He kneels to my level and brushes some hair out of my eyes which had fallen as the pain in my head begins to ease.

"You know you can tell me anything you know that," he reassures as I nod my head and brush the incident off as I sigh.

"Where's David?, I haven't seen him since I was taken," I question, changing the subject so Steve wouldn't pry any further.

"We wondered when you might be asking that," he replies with a knowing smirk before winking in my direction.

I raise my brows as Steve stands to his feet and chuckles. He places his fingers to his lips and blows, creating a whistling sound.

"Did we get a dog on the team whilst I was away?" I joke, scrunching my face up in confusion until I see a figure walking from the front of the jet.

I feel my lips instantly curl into a smile as I feel happy tears begin to collect in my eyes.

"David!" I exclaim gleefully as I push the sheet off of me and jump to my feet. I rush over to him and jump, latching my legs around his waist as my arms wrap around his neck as I snuggle into it.

But there's something wrong. I feel as though something is wrong as I bury my head into his neck.

I hear him chuckle as I feel a light kiss being pressed against my forehead. His arms wrap around me securely and I feel safe as I feel his fingers run through my hair.

But there's still something missing.

"I thought I would never see you again," I say to him, as I feel my face being pulled away from his neck gently. I drop my legs onto the floor and stare into his eyes as he smiles back at me, lightly rubbing his thumbs against each of my cheeks.

"Well, luck is on my side," he comments joking as I watch his eyes glance at my lips.

I smile and our lips latch onto each other. I feel him smile into the kiss as I run my hands through his hair and gently tug on it, earning a slight groan of approval from him. He pulls me closer into his body and we continue to allow both a mixture of longing and lust take over our bodies.

Keyword there, lust...

"Guys, keep this PG, we are family-friendly," I hear Tony joke as we break apart, my face heats up in embarrassment.

"Mr Stark, if you had a woman as stunning as this wouldn't you show her some appreciation after days of not seeing her?" David cockily asks as I elbow him playfully.

"Look, Kid, I get it, you're young and in love but there will be no little mutant babies being conceived on this jet," Tony states with a knowing look as this silences David. I bite my lip concealing the awkward laugh I was going to let off.

"Sorry Dad," I joke, sending Tony a playful smirk as he rolls his eyes and waved his hand dismissing me.

"You better be, I'm not ready to be a Grandpa," he says before walking away leaving me beet red and David's mouth hanging slightly ajar.

"You never told me he acts like a parental figure around you," David mutters as he places his forehead against mine. I nod my head softly and smile.

"You know Tony, he's just being protective of me," I reply as I place my lips onto his once last time before pulling away.

"I'm just so happy to see you," I continue to say placing my hand gently on his cheek, however, as I do, I feel someone watching us. I turn around and notice Loki glaring at David who sends him a small grin.

Why would Loki be glaring at my boyfriend? I wonder as I watch them both of them before dismissing the God and feel David pull me into a tight embrace.

As David hugs me, a thought plagues my head. Something was different about the kiss I had just shared with the man I loved, it was lacking one thing, and that was the spark.

Everything just now had felt different... There was no love...

My brain was telling me, yes, but my heart was pushing me away. I got the feeling of guilt as I was kissing him behind the hunger and passion, and I do not know why.

It's as though ever since Loki kidnapped me, I feel something missing, something that I've been missing for a while. Maybe that's why I want to cling to David more. I just want that feeling I had with him back before the kidnapping. It can't be possibly gone, those butterflies have to return.

A crack of thunder erupts in the air interrupting my thoughts and I notice Loki tense. I cock my head to the side and pull away from David.

David smirks and turns around the face Loki. Something about his once caring demeanour had now disappeared as I watched him stare at the God.

"Scared of a little lightning?" he mocks, a hint of malice in his tone as Loki glares at him.

I don't know why but as soon as David said this I wanted to push him to the floor and tear him apart. Maybe I'm just exaggerating a little bit...

Maybe...

What's happening to me? This man kidnapped me! My thoughts shout as I wait for Loki's response.

"I'm not authorly found of what follows," Loki answers back and looks to the roof of the jet, his eyes briefly meeting mine.

Thump!

Everyone's attention is now secured to the roof.

"Don't suppose thunder hit the jet?" I question as another crash resonates throughout the air.

"We'd know if it was lightning," Nat calls out as she attempts to keep the jet steady.

Tony puts his suit helmet down and begins to descend to the end of the jet. He clicks a button which opens up the plane as I watch anxiousness.

"Stark, I don't think that's a good-" Steve begins to say until he is cut off as Tony's body flies and crashes into one of the jet walls which in turn knocks Steve.

A tall figure with what looks to be a flying cape stands and stares straight into the jet, he seems to be swinging a type of weapon in his hand.

I quickly push away from David and run over to Tony and Steve and help them to their feet before getting into a fighting stance with them both.

"Any idea who this guy is?" I mutter to Steve who warily takes a step forward.

Noticing this, the figure tightens their grip on their weapon before pushing us all out of the way with immense strength. I feel my back hit the floor as I groan a little and begin to sit up. That guy packs a lot of strength.

The figure storms across to where Loki is sat and I watch as Loki's eyes widen as he shakes his head. Within seconds, Loki is hauled up by his collar as the figure begins to drag him out of the jet, and that is something I couldn't let this figure do.

Jumping to my feet, I prepare to stop the figure but, instead, I leap out of the way as the man points his weapon in front of him. The man and Loki begin to descend out of the plane, but that isn't until they bring one extra unwanted item with them.

Wait... that's me!

At the last minute, Loki latches his cuffed hand onto my wrist and pulls me out of the jet with him and the other man.

As I feel the wind blowing through my hair and Loki's hand clutched to my body, I begin to question how this happened. Panic didn't begin to settle in and for some weird reason, it's as though my body was craving this adrenaline rush, the fear that I should be feeling.

When you're falling through the air you tend to re-think your life choices; for instance, I am thinking whether I should have eaten that whole strawberry cheesecake to myself, I could have shared it. Or maybe, why I didn't put my washing in the dryer before I went to work, or I don't know...

Why had I let a God kidnap me now twice?

The reasons for me thinking this is probably because I am going to fall to my death very soon. Maybe when I do die, I can finally prove to Tony that ghosts are real.

The ground began to become clearer and clearer as I braced myself for the impact because I'm sure it would hurt.

However, my death never came.

I open my eyes and notice that I am an inch above the ground. I stare at the floor and see many cracks.

"How am I-" I begin to say until whatever force was keeping me afloat vanishes and I crash onto the floor, face first.

And the pain finally rolled in.

"Ouch..." I whisper, spitting dirt out of my mouth as I wipe it with the back of my sleeve, moaning in disgust. I slowly roll over on my back and cough.

"Join S.H.I.E.L.D. they said, it would be fun they said," I complain as I put my hand on my chest and turn my head to the side.

I notice Loki and a blonde man fighting. I keep trying to steal glances of him but fail. Would he please just move his head to the side. I then see him pause in the conversation he is having and he looks away from Loki and stares at me.

"Lady Katrina?" the man questions in disbelief as he looks at me on the floor.

He furrows his eyebrows together. I look at him in confusion and my mouth hangs open.

Katrina? Who is Katrina? And why do people keep calling me that?

I slowly sit up to answer the man but pain travels all across my spine. I hiss in pain and fall back onto my back in defeat.

The man turns away giving me one last glance before pointing his finger at Loki angrily and getting shot through the sky.

I watch as what looks to be Tony holding the man in his hands zooming into the distance. I sigh and close my eyes.

"Join S.H.I.E.L.D. they said..." I mutter, groaning in pain.

"Would you require some assistance?" I hear a voice ask.

I peel my eyes open and see Loki offering out his hand. I stare at it for a moment like its a disease before taking it, which I instantly regret.

"Hmmm!" I hiss out in pain.

I see a look of concern on Loki's face and he quickly kneels.

"Look who's kneeling for who now," I mock, which I regret as I moan out again feeling a burning sensation journey up my spine.

"You're hurt," he points out, eyeing my body with concern as he places his hand gently on my cheek, which I swat away.

"Really Einstien? Because I can't quite remember you grabbing me by the wrist and pulling me out of the jet to fall to my death," I say sarcastically.

"I understand that you are angry with me, I did not mean to cause you any harm and because I have I am sorry," he apologises with a look of serenity on his face.

"Sorry?! You pulled me out a flying vehicle which could have killed me?!" I shout, briefly ignoring the pain as I glare at him.

"I'm sorry," he repeats as he looks away looking like an injured animal, as I feel myself soften.

"Is that guilt I see?!" I mock placing my hand over my mouth as Loki glares at me.

"You, the great Loki Laufeyson apologise to me, a weak quivering mortal? The world truly is going to end," I conclude as Loki begins to mumble under his breath, clearly not enjoying my company.

"Do you want me to help you or not?" he questions with his brows raised.

Nodding my head and keeping my mouth closed, I allow Loki to begin to assist me. He lifts his hand and waves it across my body as I watch the amount of concentration cross his eyes.

"It doesn't seem to be working," he states as he looks down for a moment.

"You truly are my knight in shining armour," I mock, rolling my eyes but am stopped when I feel Loki turn my head back towards him, a smirk resides on his face.

He gets closer to me and places his hands on the side of my face. I watch as he slowly leans in and places his lips upon my own.

Suddenly it is like I am in a state, I feel a tingling sensation when his lips brush against my own and something about it makes me want to hold onto him forever and never let go.

That spark...

I feel Loki smirk into the kiss as I kiss him back and I feel my body slowly getting stronger. He pulls me to sit up and he places me onto his lap.

But this is wrong, my head is screaming no but my body is saying different. I snap out of the state and look at him in the eyes as I pull away.

He looks at me lovingly with his eyes shimmering green but that is soon gone as I swipe my hand straight across his right cheek.

I push him back and stand up.

I take steps back and try to get away from him.

"What the hell? Why would you do that?! I have a boyfriend! Why would you kiss me knowing I love someone else?!" I shout angrily at him.

I show anger and frustration on the outside but inside, I feel lost and confused.

Loki stands up and smirks at my anger. His eyes seem to flicker in colour as he stares at me.

"Well, I didn't see you complaining when you pulled me closer, and let me remind you that you kissed me back." Loki points out. I shake my head and growl in anger.

"You are sick! You are just... just... urgh!" I exclaim and pull the ends of my hair.

Loki smirks and walks forward. I feel my claws start to come through my nails but they stop when I hear Loki.

"I must say, Kaitlyn, that your taste in jewellery is exquisite, that necklace suits you well," he comments as he traces his finger across my neck.

I growl and shove his hand away and take a step back.

I place my hand on it and try to tug it off. I snarl when I make no progress.

"Why won't this damn thing come off?!" I shout out in anger.

Loki walks and stands straight in front of me.

He places his hand across the gem in the middle of the chain as it glows a bright emerald colour. My eyes widen at the chain's response as my breath gets caught in my throat.

"Because you see Kaitlyn, only I have the power to remove this. Do you know what this means?" he questions leaning close to me as I can feel his breath touch the shell of my ear.

"It means I can control you, I can do whatever I like with you and you have no control over it," he states darkly as I feel my breath hitch.

"It means I can kiss and touch you whenever I want, although it doesn't seem as though I will need any help there," he comments as I go to slap him again. He catches my wrist with ease as I watch the ice blue of his eyes glare at me with possession.

"You're a sick bastard," I spit in anger as he chuckles.

"When I take over this world you will be mine and mine alone. You will rule by my side as Queen of this planet and you will stand by my side," he continues his mantra, ignoring my words.

"I will never be with you!" I say between gritted teeth.

Loki chuckles and takes my chin in his hand and smirks.

"We'll see..."
