Chapter Eleven

Katrina:

Will held me in his arms, I felt safe and secure.

I trusted him.

Maybe not Killian as much, he kind of intimidated me and after what I heard before in the infirmary I wasn't too sure about the other brother.

But I trusted Will.

He found me.

I didn't want to go back to Asgard's Palace but I felt now that I needed to. I had no choice but to go. I needed to inform Frigga about my dreams, or at least ask her about what happened to me.

I had been cut on my head when I was thrown into the tree and my ankle burned as the ice chains would not set me free and scratched against my skin every time I moved.

At the moment we were currently on Will's horse.

I was too weak to walk and most of my energy had been drained from the nightmare.

I couldn't sleep though, I didn't want to.

Not if he would be in my dreams again.

Once someone entered your dreams they could control your mind. And that wasn't a good thing. As soon as the link was made you were in danger. You couldn't do anything out of your free will unless that person allowed it.

It was another curse.

In one aspect, I was lucky as I have full control over my own mind and body, manipulation was one of my own strong points.

"Katrina, why don't you sleep," Will suggests softly as a I close my eyes briefly and let out a yawn.

I had my head on his chest as he held me tight against him, the beating of his heart soothing me.

I shake my head but don't say anything, afraid my voice would betray my words.

"For once my brother is right, Princess. You need your sleep," Killian agrees as he looks over at me with a little concern, riding his own horse.

I still shake my head.

They don't get it.

I don't want my mind taken over, I might be strong now but in my dreams I am vulnerable.

I don't want him to haunt my dreams again.

"No, I'm fine. I will just sit and watch the scenery," I tell them, my voice coated my sleep deprivation.

Killian shrugs his shoulders but I could tell that Will wasn't being as care free as his brother.

"Why won't you go to sleep Katrina?" Will asks me as I feel him tense.

I refuse to look at him and shake my head again, tears beginning to form in my eyes.

"I'm just not tired," I inform him quietly, trying to make my voice sound strong.

I feel Will's body shift uncomfortably as his breathing becomes quicker.

"Don't lie to me," He says, his voice slowly turning a little darker.

I feel the atmosphere around us change as I still dare not to look into his eyes.

"I'm not lying to you," I reply back innocently, trying to convince him and myself.

Will growls under his breath.

Was he going to kill me? Why was he so mad?

I knew that both him and his brother were part of the Keeper's Pack that protected the Royal Family of Asgard for Centuries, I had been taught about it as a child.

This is why I was reluctant to trust them both, they may have been trusted by the Asgardians but not me, I was still afraid of them to an extent, I knew what they could do and what they would turn into.

"I.Said.Don't.Lie." Will snarls again but this time, his voice took a deadly turn.

Killian stops his horse and looks over at his brother and then at me before intervening.

"Will, calm down," he orders, his voice showing dominance.

Will growls lowly at his brother but decided to keep quiet before be continue our journey.

I gulp lightly and sent Killian a look of appreciation from which he nodded his head softly, offering me a small smile.

There was something off about the way Will acted around me. He was more protective over me yet he had only known me for a few days. Whenever he would look at me, something shone behind his eyes, something familiar that I had seen before.

"I just don't want to sleep Will," I sigh, watching as we passed the village.

Many of the villagers watch as me, Will and Killian pass by.

They all give me the same look as before.

Curiousity.

I could see the Palace up ahead and Will stops his horse.

Killian got off his horse as Will gently moves me into his brother's arms, his grip on me tight to ensure I don't fall.

I immediately wrap my arms around Killian's neck and I feel him chuckle a little at my uncomfortableness.

"Don't scratch me with those claws, Princess," Killian jokes as I scowl at him.

"Take her into the infirmary," Will instructs him, his voice cold as I try to look at Will but his face avoids me.

Killian nods his head submissively. Anger radiates off of Will as he takes the reigns of his and Killian's horse before walking away with them.

"Drama Queen," Killian mutters under his breath as I smile a little at his remark.

We begin to slowly walk towards the Palace, the golden doors again opening for us.

As we walk down the corridors of the Palace, I notice that Killian keeps opening and closing his mouth wanting to say something.

"Say what you have to say," I instruct, my eyes instantly meet with his.

"I'd listen to William if I were you," He warns as I raise my brows at him in confusion.

"Why? I told him that I was not tired and he seems to be so annoyed at me," I state as Killian shakes his head in disbelief.

"You lied to him," he replies back bluntly as I study his hairline which was gold unlike Will's which was silver.

"Why can't he understand that I don't need to be told what to do?" I question as Killian smiles down at me gently.

"Listen Princess, I'm not going to pretend that you're stupid and don't already know what we are," Killian begins to say.

"I know you know about the secret the Keeper Pack holds, and I know you know about the inner beast already," he states as I don't say anything.

"The inner beast affects us all differently, I presume you know all about the whole full moon cliché and about the control of our own emotions," he continues as I nod my head gently.

"So when you lie to him, Will slowly gets annoyed and then he lashes out. He hasn't as much control over his wolf where as I do," He informs me.

"So when he took the horses... What he really means is that he's letting off a little steam," I say after a moment as Killian's nods his head.

"Exactly, that's my brother for you. He doesn't want to anger or hurt you Katrina, so please don't annoy him again," Killian explains.

"He would never forgive himself if you got hurt," he adds on quietly.

I decided against asking why because I didn't want to go into that conversation.

From afar Killian seemed bad, the typical bad boy who took nothing.

But up close he was a strong and caring guy.

I now understand why he has the tough guy act on. He only wants to protect his family, he does exactly what I would do.

"You know, you're not that bad of a guy," I begin to say with a small smile on my face.

"You're just a real softy," I finish playfully.

Killian looks down at me shaking his head, a small grin making itself on his face.

"You really did hit your head out in the woods?" he comments as I shake my head laughing.

"You're just sad I'm finally breaking your tough guy act, maybe we even could be friends!" I gasp in a fake but playful horror.

"Imagine that... You're delusional from the lack of sleep, Kitty Kat," he replies back with humour.

"You just game me a nickname! We're going to be besties!" I cheer laughing as Killian lets out a brief chuckle.

"We sure are, Princess," he mutters shaking his head as we reach the place we needed to be.

I smile seeing the door to the infirmary.

Killian walks in with me, his grip on me slightly tightening as we approach a familiar man sat on a bed.

Fandral smiles at me brightly before hopping off of his bed and greeting us both.

"Lady Katrina, I heard you some how disappeared," he says with a little humour.

"Finally decided you shouldn't spend so much time around Loki?" he jokes as I feel a small frown coat my face.

"Yes Fandral it is true, I did disappear, but not for the reason you think," I reply back darkly. The light in his blue eyes fades slightly, fear evident.

"How's your shoulder?" I ask him politely, changing the subject.

He looks down at it and grins brightly, forgetting the brief interaction we had.

"All patched up and healed," he says smiling.

"Those frost giants can't get rid of me that easily," he winks back suggestively as I pull a small face of disgust.

"What an ass," my ears perk up as I turn my head to face Killian who gently shakes his head.

"Kill!" I hiss playfully under my breath, ensuring only he can hear me.

"Look who is giving nicknames now!" he replies back with a little humour as I nudge him.

"But may I ask, my Lady, what happened to your foot?" Fandral asks, snapping me and Killian back out of the conversation we were having.

I look down at my bleeding foot and back up at Fandral, gently biting my lip in nervousness.

"I slipped and fell on some branches in the woods." I lie with ease.

"Liar" Killian mumbles so only I can hear him, I gently tense up at his remark and look at Fandral's calm body language.

Fandral seemed to believe my lie and he nodded his head.

"Ah. I hope you get better soon, my Lady," he bows, studying both me and Killian before leaving the infirmary.

"I had no choice this time! I couldn't exactly tell him the truth, could I? He'd think I'm mad!" I exclaim as Killian shrugs his shoulders.

I hear footsteps clicking and turn my head to see Eire walk into the room.

She looks at each bed in the infirmary before her eyes land on me and Killian whereby she lets out a small gasp.

"Princess you're back!" She cheeres in shock.

I frown at this slightly.

"How do you know that I am a Princess?" I question looking at Killian as he shrugs his shoulders.

"I recognised you from a tapestry," Killian tells me, I nod my head. I presumed he knew who I was due to Will telling him.

"The whole castle knows your Majesty. They know who you truly are," Eire informs me.

"Great..." I mutter under my breath.

"Can't go incognito now, Kitty Kat," he jokes as I roll my eyes and groan running my hands down my face.

"I couldn't anyway, not with you carrying me around like an accessory. You're not exactly stealthy," I reply back as Killian sends me a playful glare.

"Seeing as I'm not stealthy enough, should I drop you?" he asks, his grip on my body loosening.

"Don't you dare!" I exclaim as I wrap my arms tighter around his body as he lets out a healthy laugh.

Eire witnesses the exchange between the two of us and smiles.

"Sargent Connors, I do believe you've made a new friend," she says with a small smile as Killian looks at her, eyes wide.

"I have done no such thing!" he answers back, a fake look of shock covering his face.

Eire laughs until her gaze went down to my foot.

"God Lord, Child! What ever happened to your ankle? And your head?!" She asks in worry.

Me and Killian exchange looks nodding to one another.

"She slipped in the woods Eire. Some brambles caught her ankle and then she hit her head on a rock," He lies as I smile up at him.

At least I know that Killian has my back.

Eire walks towards me and she touches my foot lightly.

I hiss in pain, glaring at her as she shakes her head.

"Well it looks like you've-" Eire was cut off by shouting.

"What in all of the Nine Realms?" I mumble under my breath as we all glance at the scene being played out before us.

Two figures stumble into the room tearing at each other's throats.

When I look down at the two figures, I notice that they were the two people I least expected.

"Oh lord..." I mutter shaking my head.

Killian looks between the two people as sighs heavily.

"Bad dog..."
