Chapter 41 |---|That's When I Saw, Her... #9!!
|---|Previously On, The Three Line Title|---|
"I'm sorry Rishelle, but you won't be accompanying us on our journey." I narrowed my eyes at her and our eyes locked.
"But you need me to guide you to their hideout!" She said defensively.
"It's okay, we'll find them." I turned back around and motioned for everyone to follow me.
Unknown POV
The sky was overcast and the breeze felt good. The birds chirped loudly, but I kept wondering where the rest of my Crew had gone. They got kidnapped! My mind kept telling me. They got destroyed! My mind would tell me at another time. I wanted to know the truth. But if avatar Azaria's with them, I know she'll know what to do. I smiled at the thought.
But I still wanted to know where they were, and there was almost nothing that could drive that thought out of my head.
Rishelle's POV
Azaria just left me. I told myself. She just left me to, I guess, find my way back to the beach. But I wasn't going back to the beach. I was going to follow them.
Azaria's POV
I felt bad about leaving Rishelle, but it felt like the right thing to do. She'd led us in the wrong direction and now there was no guarantee we were going to find it before nightfall. I glanced at my friend's faces. My eyes landed on Keneo first. His face looked tired, weary, but once he met my gaze, he gave me a weak smile. The others looked the same, except for Takaro, that is. When he saw me he smiled and nodded a nod filled with determination, then broke into a jog.
My friends and I had to nearly run to catch up to him. Although I wasn't nearly as fast, I knew our goals were the same: reach Ramone, Emoni, and Sefur's hideout before sundown.
Takaro took us around two corners, down five alleys and through two parks before the sun was beginning to fade, and the streetlights were starting to come on. My breath heavy, I stopped and placed my hands on my knees, bending over.
"I have to stop." I told Takaro breathlessly. He stopped and turned towards me, his face didn't even seem tired. I wondered why.
"Yeah, me too." Keneo, Raven, Adele, and Rolock said simultaneously.
"Then we'll stop and rest." Takaro started, "But we're starting back in half an hour." I looked at my friend's faces, which once looked tired, now looked cheerful. We walked over to an alley and sat down against the building on the right side.

Once Takaro, Keneo, Raven, Adele, and Rolock were all asleep, I decided to take a look around the area we were in.
I stood up and walked out of the alley. Looking both ways, I started off to the left.
The sun was gone and the sky was a navy blue color. The moon was not out yet. It had to have been more than half an hour since we'd stopped to rest, but I ignored the thought.
The night was peaceful. No one was out, the lights you could normally see in the windows were out, and all you could hear were crickets.
And that's when I saw, her.
