Fifty Two: Butterfly

Laurel Prince

"Babe, you have a leaf in your hair, let me get it for you."

Jungkook bent his head down for Taehyung, who swiped at his black hair gently. A red leaf tumbled to the path they were both walking on, the ravenette stepping over it.

"Thanks Tae," Jungkook intertwined their fingers, his thumb softly rubbing in circles on the elder's knuckle.

It had been three months since the end of the war, which meant daily autumn walks for the newly wed pair at the Oak Castle. Taehyung's road to recovery was trying and involved a lot of failure, but eventually he got his legs to work for him again. Jungkook had to slow down his pace a bit so Taehyung was comfortable, but other than that the blonde was perfectly ambulatory.

Despite the hearing loss, Taehyung felt a calm joy spread through him as a breeze tousled the younger's hair. He truly did miss hearing the other's voice clearly, but Jungkook made sure the blonde  didn't feel left out. The Oak Prince made sure to communicate in other ways for Taehyung to understand him such as signing or touches to certain parts of his body. The two almost never left each other's side...unless needed.

The times when the Oak Prince wasn't by his side, however, Taehyung felt oddly lonely. His mind would wander around to memories of Jimin when he was alive, sometimes making him collapse sobbing on the bed of his and Jungkook's shared room.

It took awhile before the blonde could accept the fact that Jimin made the decision to die on purpose...after realizing that he was beyond help with his sickness.

The pain of Jimin's absence still felt like something was missing...so to distract himself from that feeling when Jungkook wasn't around, the blonde turned to his favorite hobby.

Fashion.

If the Oak Prince was at a particularly long meeting or was out traveling somewhere, Taehyung would work with the remaining Laurel Servants that were permanent residents at the Oak Castle. Hours would pass, outfit after outfit being designed, created, and tested by the blonde.

At first it was a bit difficult relaying his artistic vision to the others, since they didn't know how to communicate back to him without speaking dreadfully slow or writing their messages down. Eventually, though, they got the hang of signing while speaking.

Taehyung's closet began to fill up with his eclectic designs...and everyday he sported a new look that drew the attention of onlookers. No longer was he known as the "disabled prince" or viewed with pity, but was given the high title of Oak Fashionista.

When people saw him in the hallways of the Oak Castle they would whistle and whoop in admiration, or at least that's what Jungkook told him. He loved all of the eyes on him...especially when people did their best to communicate to him that they loved his outfit by pointing and popping a thumbs up.

All of their compliments made Taehyung overjoyed.

Today, the blonde was wearing a strange greenish brown sweater that went to his thighs with long black pants. His shoes were made out of animal skins and had glass orbs dotting the sides. Set upon his oiled and styled blonde hair was an elegant Laurel-styled headpiece. Some might've said he was going above and beyond with his exotic fashion sense...but Taehyung thought of it as a way to express the sides he had kept hidden during his reign.

The Oak Prince didn't mind either; in fact, the ravenette would compliment him on each new look. The blonde never got sick of it.

"Let's sit over there for old times sake, yeah?" Taehyung tugged on Jungkook's plain black sleeve, urging him towards the crabapple tree at the edge of the garden.

Jungkook smiled at him, probably remembering the time the two had spent on the bench under the crabapple tree when they were just getting to know each other.

Good times...

"Yeah," Jungkook's lips moved, striding next to his husband to the homely little oak bench.

Once they were seated, the Oak Prince got a good look at Taehyung's outfit, tilting his head and pointing to the headpiece.

"What's this?" he mouthed to the older, his eyes crinkling up in amusement.

"Oh," Taehyung tugged the piece out of his blonde hair, reaching over and weaving it into the other's raven black hair, "This piece is representative of the victory we won over Jihoon; green laurel wrapped around a red ruby to signify the beauty of winning."

The Oak Prince laughed as the elder struggled to get it into his black hair, fingers getting tangled up in the process.

"Here," Jungkook grabbed Taehyung's hands in his own and kissed them before placing them at the blonde's sides, "Let me do it."

Taehyung smirked as the Oak Prince had just as much trouble as he did, the clip getting caught up in locks of his hair. The younger bit his lip in concentration as he fidgeted with the piece more, roughing up the laurel as he kept failing.

"Hey!" Taehyung chuckled, hands going up to intercept the piece, "Never mind, you're going to break it Kook! I thought it would look good on you but-"

Jungkook huffed, plopping the piece into Taehyung's outstretched palm and licking his lips.

"I'm not the type for fashion anyway," he motioned to his clothes before making a quick 'x' symbol. Taehyung understood it all.

"Awww, don't say that Kook..." Taehyung leaned over and teasingly ran his lips along the younger's jawbone, "I think...I just think you just look better when you're...wearing me."

The younger's response was a sudden squeeze to Taehyung's thigh, his lips meeting the blonde's in a long kiss. The pair was no longer worried about getting caught showing affection in public; by that point the Oak Staff expected it and got to witness it on the regular.

"I think you look better without clothes on, to be honest," the ravenette lightly bit at Taehyung's earlobe as the elder laughed heartily.  The blonde let out a puff of breath as the younger tugged at the sensitive skin of ear using his teeth.

Jungkook made him so happy...just thinking back to their first meeting at the Laurel Castle made the elder realize how much they both had changed.

Changed for the better.

After the Oak Prince pulled away, the two males leaned into each other, Taehyung's leg lazily propped on his husband's lap as they watched nature together. In his mind, Taehyung pictured what his surroundings sounded like, replicating birds chirping and bees buzzing around him. Taehyung hummed as a butterfly flew past, squeezing Jungkook's hand when he saw its beautiful silver color.

"Silver..." Taehyung tapped his foot a few times on the ground as the insect fluttered to a leaf on the crabapple tree next to them, fanning its wings. In the autumn sun, it stood out against the red leaves like an sparkly gray sword in a group of apples.

"Beautiful," Jungkook must've said. The elder felt the vibration of the younger speaking but was too entranced by the butterfly to pay attention to his husband's lips.

A couple of minutes passed as they watched the butterfly opening and closing its glimmering silver wings. It was as if it was watching them...staying there for what seemed like forever.

It reminded him of...

Jimin.

Before he knew what he was doing, Taehyung stretched out the fingers of his tan hand towards the beautiful work of nature. Jungkook said nothing, only watched in awe as the butterfly flew over to them on the bench.

"I...hello," the blonde whispered as the unique creature landed on his finger, batting its gray wings in time with his breath.

"Woah," Jungkook leaned in, peering with big doe eyes at the butterfly that didn't flinch or get scared by his presence, "That's...it's like-"

"IT'S JIMIN!"

Taehyung brought the butterfly closer to his face, peering closely into its eyes. The Oak Prince laughed as the butterfly suddenly flew off of the blonde's hand and into the distance, just as fast as it had flown to them. The blonde pouted, hand still up as he watched it flit towards another tree.

"What's a butterfly doing out here in the middle of fall anyway?" Taehyung turned towards the younger with an upset look on his face.

Jungkook shrugged, hugging the other male into him. It was starting to get a little breezy out when the ravenette glanced down at his pocket watch.

Taehyung mentally crossed his fingers, hoping that the other male didn't have to go to some important meeting without him. The younger bit his lip as he blinked at his pocket watch before placing it back at his hip.

"Please Kook, stay with me a little longer...yeah?" the blonde rolled his neck around, waiting for an answer from Jungkook.

The younger only looked at him...while biting his lip.

"Kook?"

Then the ravenette's hands came up as he signed to the other, "I have an hour before my next meeting..." he lightly smirked. Taehyung saw the fire behind the younger's pupils, "Do you...maybe want to-"

"Yes."

Taehyung didn't even have to see Jungkook's lips move in order to know what he wanted to do. Heat immediately filled his tan cheeks as he smiled and nodded.

Without saying more, Prince Jeon grasped Taehyung's hand and helped him off the bench, walking with him excitedly through the trails of the garden. The elder could feel the anticipation buzzing off of the younger, and although he couldn't hear, he knew that the younger probably had a quickened breath.

"Good day to you two!" a servant called out...or at least that's what Taehyung figured. Something like that, it honestly didn't matter to him...all he cared about right now was Jungkook. His husband bowed briefly, giving a polite reply back with his catchphrase smile.

That's just how the Oak Prince was.

As the two were about to reenter the castle, the ravenette suddenly held up a hand, stopping them. Taehyung gave him a questioning look.

"Wait a second...turn around," the ravenette motioned for him to turn around. Taehyung rolled his eyes, "You should probably wait 'till we're inside for that, Kook," Taehyung teased as he complied.

Jungkook hit him lightly on the shoulder blade and turned him back around after a few moments. On his finger was a familiar little insect.

"He was on your back that whole time!" the Oak Prince shook his head in disbelief as he placed the silver butterfly onto a nearby rock, "Beauty attached to a beauty."

Jungkook brought his index finger up to press Taehyung's nose before he turned around and walked away. The Oak Prince then disappeared behind the castle doors.

Taehyung waited a second, gazing at the fluttering butterfly with a fondness that he knew wasn't a mistake. Before the blonde hurried inside to catch up with his awaiting husband, he whispered something to the innocent insect, hand waving quickly. He didn't really care if people thought he was crazy for talking to animals, because he just...had a feeling what he was doing was right.

"Thanks...Jimin. I...I love you!"

Taehyung witnessed as the butterfly took off at the words, heading into the distance towards the body of water the blonde had come to love. The Oak Sea.

Taehyung grinned as the creature faded into a tiny dot in his vision before turning on his heel and heading inside of his home.

Oak Prince

"J-Jungkook! AHH!"

The younger groaned in pleasure as Taehyung moved underneath him, screaming louder than ever. The blonde's hair was a mess, head thrown back against the sheets of their shared king-sized bed and mouth in an "o" shape.

"KOOK!"

Being deaf only seemed to make the blonde scream louder, as if he was trying desperately to hear himself. The blonde shifted to the side as his husband pounded into him, his tan hands wrapped tightly around the other's biceps.

"Kkookiiee..." Taehyung could hardly get words out as he was being pushed into bliss, "Har-hardderr."

The ravenette smiled at the words, happy to comply. It was only a matter of seconds before his husband was scratching trails down the ravenette's arms, unable to speak coherently at all as sounds escaped his pursed lips.

Jungkook leaned down, breathing heavily into his husband's lips as the blonde bared his teeth in the midst of fire. To his surprise, the blonde lifted his head briefly to nip at Jungkook's bottom lip, drawing a bit of blood out.

"Ow...T-Tae," Jungkook breathed, removing his lips from the other's as he pushed himself deeper into Taehyung.

The elder's moans and the sounds their bodies made while melding together beautifully was like music to the ravenette's ears. If only Taehyung could hear...

But Jungkook knew that the other was enjoying the situation either way, as the sweat dripping from his brow and his flushed face acted as affirmation.

So close...

The blonde under him screamed as he hit his high, body shaking with pleasure as the ravenette strove for his own. A few seconds later, Jungkook groaned as he released all of the tension and stress he had been building up the last few days.

"Ah...Taehyung," he cooed as the blonde breathed heavily under him, body limp from their excursion to paradise.

The blonde's eyes snapped open as he felt the vibration in the air from the younger's voice, eyes hazed over in ecstasy. Jungkook half-collapsed onto the elder, their bare chests touching as he ran his lips along the other's.

"Kook...I love you so fucking much," Taehyung kissed the younger's nose. His tan hand ran along the younger's lower lip, where a bead of blood was forming, "Oops...didn't mean to bite ya that hard..."

Jungkook flicked his tongue out, swiping the blood away from his lower lip. He pulled his head back so Taehyung could understand his next message.

"It's okay, Tae...I'll bite you next time..." the ravenette teased, opening his jaw and clamping down on the air in front of him. The blonde flinched a bit before smiling, holding Jungkook's jaw in his hand.

"Wonderful," Taehyung pulled the ravenette towards him, interlocking their lips for a second. Jungkook tasted the saltiness of the other's sweat as their tongues touched. Taehyung hummed at the contact.

While their lips collided, Jungkook's mind wandered. Wandered to his thoughts of the elder, who had been so supportive of the Oak Prince's actions despite the fact that they would be separated for periods of time. Taehyung really was something else...something precious...that he never wanted to lose.

Internally, Taehyung had changed so much. The normal bubbliness of his personality wasn't feigned any more. He was genuinely optimistic, the horrible memory of his abusive father pushed far away from him.

On walks, the blonde would say hello to people he passed, gave out compliments openly, and did whatever he wanted to when he wanted to.

If people spoke behind his back, he couldn't hear it. If he could tell what they were saying about him, he didn't show it.

The blonde was completely shameless, and that's what Jungkook loved about him. Everyday he learned something new from the elder male.

The Oak Prince separated their lips for a little, kissing down the blonde's jaw. He pulled his head away to mouth something to the elder. Three words that meant the world to him.

"I love you."

Taehyung smiled at the words from the ravenette, crinkling up his nose in satisfaction. The blonde hugged Jungkook tightly to his body, whispering sweet things in his ear as a response.

"I'm so lucky I have you, Kook."

"My life would be so meaningless without you."

"Thank you for accepting me like this."

"I love you so much."

Jungkook grinned at all of these things, wanting to whisper them back to Taehyung.  Instead of speaking, Jungkook responded to Taehyung's loving words with a kiss to the mouth, full of passion, care, and love.

Then Taehyung squeezed Jungkook's side urgently as if he wanted to say something important.

The younger lifted his chest off of Taehyung. The blonde's eyes seemed to shine with the classic epiphany of a sudden realization. Jungkook opened his mouth to ask about it.

"What is it Taehyung?"

He waited...and then-

Jungkook grinned from ear to ear when words that would change the course of his life forever flew from the blonde's mouth excitedly to reach his impatient ears.

"Jungkook," the blonde pushed himself up on his elbows, face inches away from the younger's.

"I want to be a father."
