The Newbie

~Years earlier~

"Does the armor fit better now?" The grey and yellow freelancer started. As the Orange and blue one came out.

"Yea, it's not as tight now." She said, relieved.

"That's what he said!" The one white armor had spoke.

"Shut up Wyoming, why the heck are you here anyway?" The grey one looked to Wyoming. The white freelancer chuckled and turned around to leave.

"Dav-" Louise started.

"Washington." Corrected the grey and yellow one.

"Washington... Right I may never get use to that, seeing as we grew up together. You'll always be David to me." Started the newest Agent. "Anyway, I don't think that they made a right choice choosing me for this job. I understand why you are here but you've been here a week longer, I'm brand new."

"Calm down Sammy... I mean Louisiana, you'll be fine, they choose you for a reason." Agent Washington had reassured the orange and blue freelancer. "At least I won't be the 'Newbie' anymore." He laughed slightly.

"Oh trust me, they'll still call you Newbie, Wash." A new voice spoke, a male in tan armor was in the doorway. As if reflex, Louise stood respectively.

"Relax Louise, you don't need to do that here." The tan one said again.

"Gah... Sorry York. Louise, thats a nice shorten name for Louisiana." Louise hummed. "Why are we named after states anyway?"

"Don't know, never asked." Wash answered turning to York. "We need to go or something?"

The tan freelancer nodded, "Come on, Newbies." He mused, watching the two together before turning away and muttering something.

"What was that?" Questioned Washington as the followed York through the ship.

"Oh nothing!" He said laughing slightly. "The Director wants to meet the newest addition." Leading them away.

The metal door had opened, The Director and the Councilor both stood there, the Director was looking out a window into space. While the Councilor turned to see the three, holding his clip board.

"Ah, Agent Louisiana, have you started to settle in well?" The Councilor started. Louise nodded once turning to the Councilor.

"I've had no problems so far, except for not knowing most people here. I guess it's just seems different here." She had responded, turning to look at Wash.

Wash just shrugged, looking back.

"You two are dismissed, Agents, Louisiana will stay here." The Councilor looked to the tan and grey freelancers.

Louise immediately felt nervous, looking to the Councilor and then back to Wash who patted the back of her armor.

"You'll be fine." He said in a whisper before turning away and following York out the door. Louise turned back to the Councilor, the Director was still staring out of the window, not making any effort to turn.

"Agent Louisiana, you will be assigned to team A," started the Director. "Councilor." He didn't say much, but thats all he needed before the man with the clip board went up to Louise.

"Come with me," he said leading the orange and blue freelancer away. She was led to a room, her room, the one she was assigned to. The Councilor seemed to observe Louise.

"Louisiana. How is your sister?" He spoke up, making Louise look up, a confused look on her face, though he couldn't see it, her helmet was on. She had a good reason to keep it on.

"Umm, I think she's doing good." Louise started to answer, "I haven't seen her in a while. I'm sorry, did you know Jennifer?"

The Councilor smiled slightly. "It is my job to know all my patients." Was all he said before continuing on. "You can go ahead and take off your helmet here, it is your room after all."

The orange freelancer was a little hesitant, take off her helm?

"Unless of course you like hiding your... Injury from yourself." He stated making Louise sigh. She lifted off her helmet, a large scar had covered the left side of he face, barely over her eye.

"Louisiana, I am here whenever you need a person to talk to, that is part of my job." The Councilor informed her as Louise looked away, dark blonde hair following. Her green eyes seemed to be filled with pain.

"I usually cover it with my hair, not even Da-Wash knows about it." She muttered fixing her hair over the scar and eye. "I guess its my fault though, so I can't complain. Anyway thanks for showing my room Councilor. If it's not a problem, I would like to catch up with Wash."

"Its fine, go ahead. Good luck Louisia-" he said his farewell but before finishing her new agent name she corrected him.

"You can say Louise for short, York thought it up." She smiled slightly as the Councilor smiled back, seeming harmless.

"Okay, Good luck Louise." The Councilor turned and walked out the door, before Louise left to find Washington she looked in the closest reflective object. Feeling her scar behind her hair she sighed, walking out the door with her helmet in her arms.

Wash was alone in the hallway, looking at the rooms, curious who sleeps where.

"Looking for my room, pervert?" Louise called, walking up to him.

"What? No!" He looked to Louise, eyeing her new hairstyle. "Why do you keep your hair like, you cover your beautiful green eyes." He started before realizing what he said and seemed to get nervous.

Louise laughed, before responding. "What about you, what's with keeping your head covered? Afraid you'll lose your helmet? 'Cause I can totally see you doing that." She poked at the helmet glass.

"No seriously, why?" Wash said almost reaching to move her hair. Louise step back avoiding to show the scar.

"Its the new me, don't ruin it." Warned Louise, quickly putting on her helmet. "Come on lets get something to eat, I'm starving." She started to walk off.

"Where the heck is the cafeteria, or better the kitchen, I could eat everything in a fridge right now." She asked looking down the halls.

Wash rolled his eyes in his helmet. He walked past Louise. "Come on, we don't need you throwing a food fit if Carolina comes by."

"Carolina?"

"You'll meet her sometime."
