Chapter 56: Devil's Kisses
Kiba was whistling as he made his way to his golden kitchen—that was how he'd addressed it—and poured Margarita on two of his cocktail glasses.
If you are wondering what's up with the Inuzuka boy's life, it was pretty in the groove.
Ever since he was a boy, he was always spoiled with his mother Tsume. Their parents broke up, period. Hana had a line of suitors, which showed influence to her little brother. Whenever her boyfriend comes in the house, she would ask him to go to his room. But Kiba knew what they were about to do—all that romantic stuff, there was even a time Hana was almost caught making out with her recent boyfriend in the couch. Tsume was bringing groceries that she almost dropped it, if it weren't for her fierce personality.
"Oh please, not on my couch." Tsume muttered, giving Hana a look. Hana shoved her shirt longer reaching her mid-thighs, since she was wearing the chuunin's T-shirt that says, 'ғυel yoυr lιғe'.
Kiba was twelve years old back then, playing fetch with Akamaru. He might have seen Ino dropping by and wondered what was it like to have a girl. Since that very incident—watching his sister flattering her boyfriends, Kiba thought of it as a trigger of what he truly was—a playboy. Swinger. Pleasure seeker.
Everyday was an adventurous providence to him. He would strut in the middle of the village, girls drool over him. It was what Sasuke's departure had benefited him: an oozing champagne of stardom.
They couldn't blame him—the Inuzuka were rich and they've had relatives all over the world, called ninja hounds, moreover they were believed to be guardians of the Shinobi. They get paid to watch over something for example, a treasure gem wrapped in green chakra, a ninja whose life is in peril, and all of those important stuffs. Once Kiba turns eighteen, it is said he is supposed to serve his purpose as a guardian and protect other people.
Kiba disregarded it as nothing but a myth—Tsume would not let anything or anyone to steal his favorite boy. Over the years Kiba blamed her mother for scaring his father that he filed a divorce, and Tsume thought that providing him luxury would make it up to him. It did.
This day would be gladly a day of exult for him—Hiashi gone, the parties in the village would soar higher and it means that the creditable reason that the Harvest would exhume goes low.
That was when he received a call from Hinata. Kiba muted her speakers, and talked to Hinata while cooking Salmon. "What? Sorry, I was partying—I mean I was, I was cooking."
"Are you free for dinner tonight?"
Kiba's eyes widened. He felt, for an unreasonable doubt, his heart skipping a beat. "Oh, yeah, sure. Whatever you need." He was smiling uncontrollably. "My place. Sounds great."
After closing his phone, Kiba made a huge yes in his hands. He turned on his speakers again, this time lauding another joyful acumen that Hiashi is now dead—he is free to hang out with Hinata with no available curfews.
He did hope Neji wouldn't kill him. He cooked for real this time, and grabbed more champagne for some reason Hinata wanted to go to his house. His place. Kiba had never seen Hinata go into their mansion. He was usually the one picking her up during missions, times Shino would catch up to them soon.
He grabbed his phone again and dialed Hana. "Don't come into my house. I have a date." He said, feeling a little thoughtful. He and Hana have separate houses—like Tsunade said, the Inuzuka may not be the most well renowned Shinobi clan but they excel in wealth.
"You have a what?"
"A date."
"You don't go to dates.."
"I do now, I don't know what you call it but it's official!" Kiba jumped in merriment holding a frying pan, "Hinata is coming tonight. At my place. You can't stop her. It's a sign."
"She has a boyfriend," Hana said, exhausted.
"Well, what would you do if your sneaky boyfriend just got someone preggers and you're left in the thin air? Revenge. Trust me, I'm in the mood today. Hiashi just died. Oh, did I forget to mention that he's her dad? Bummer."
Hana closed her eyes and thought of her silly troubled brother. "Open your door. I'm in front of your house."
Kiba, displeased, shut his phone as he rushed to get the door. "Well?"
Hana closes her phone too, as she handed Kiba two of her neat shirts. It was a custom to them both, the brother brings a girl, girl expects something to change on. Kiba on the other hand, happened to keep one of his dad's shirt when Hana brought her boyfriend home. Shhh. Don't tell anything to mom, kay?
"Oh thanks, Hana. I appreciate you coming over." Hana said sarcastically, impersonating him.
"Thanks, sister." Kiba grinned.
"Don't for a second lose her. I like this girl."
"Thanks. She's not a girl anymore, she's a woman." He said, slamming the door. Another knock came, this time Kiba paused to give the door a raging look. "I'm fine, Hana. You can leave." He realized it wasn't his sister he'd been talking to—it was Hinata. He quickly grabbed a shirt and wore it as he opened the door.
Hinata turned. Her hair was wet, her clothes wre soaked, and something told Kiba that no form of loud music nor amusement would appeal tonight. "I broke up with him."
Oh. Kiba said in his mind. What could he possibly say to her?
He let her in, leaving her umbrella inside. That Naruto better not show his face to me. They were best friends, too, in a sort of way Kiba finds it complicated that he couldn't bother date her. It's as if you wanted someone, but rather stay like that as you were—no more than friends—that way you can be with them and comfort them, not wanting to be the reason they often cry.

THE END OF THE AFFAIR
"I'm sorry about you and Naruto..." said Kiba. "And of course your dad." How could I damn well forget...
Hinata blew her colds in a tissue. She was wearing Hana's shirt, as Kiba remembered what his sister said. Don't for a second lose her. I like this girl. He stared at her as he wondered, should he offer her a Margarita as an offering of condolence, or joy that she has given up on Naruto?
He certainly wanted her. Have you ever fallen for someone by simply looking at them?
Hinata on the other hand, stared at the clock and knew Neji would be mad at her if she arrives home late, so she texted him and told him that Kiba would be the one escorting her. She didn't switch her phone on afterwards, knowingly her cousin barely trusted the brunette. They might think Kiba knows how to charm her, but Hinata knew Kiba more than anything, and she didn't come in his house for fun.
"I'm getting you a drink." Kiba said, smirking. "I'll be back."
"K-kiba-kun, could you come in here for a moment?"
Kiba sweated. He turned her gaze towards Hinata. He went to her, asked her if there was something wrong. "Take off your shirt."
"Hinata, my sister is living next door."
"Your shirt." Hinata said madly, her Byakugan activated. She wasn't crying anymore, but Kiba could still see the hurt in her eyes and the dried tears. He sighed as he slipped his T-shirt off.
BY DEMONS BE DRIVEN
They were enscripted in his chest, four words that were written in his skin. They were beautiful at the same time menacing. He had a tattoo all this time along, and Hinata wouldn't have noticed it if it weren't for her Byakugan. "D-don't move." She stood up from the couch and touched them—the ink that brought clamorous beating into his heart. Kiba wanted to ask what was she thinking. "Does Hana know?" She asked quietly.
"Not yet." Kiba said. "I'll tell her soon, I promise. It's not a big deal."
"Why'd you do this, Kiba?" Hinata asked again. "Why'd you do this to yourself?"
"I don't know, Hinata. And fine, I'm sorry. Because if I'm not, I wouldn't have worn a shirt when I came to you."
Hinata gasped. In Konohagakure it is common for ANBUs to have a Leaf symbol tattood in their shoulder, or anywhere as long as it could be seen. Kakashi had, Yamato too, even Sai. "Fine. It was because of her, okay? Chiruka. The vampire girl."
Vampire girl. Hinata knew her the first time he mentioned her—and it hurt her in more ways than she could ever imagined. Kiba was hurting and none of them ever saw, rather he'd rather kept those scars within himself and buried them deep. He decided to hide it so the society wouldn't see it.
He walked away, placing a hand in his forehead. "She left." He almost laughed. "She barely left me anything, a note, or even called. She's gone, okay? So can we just pretend like you never saw this?"

There were no words that said. Hinata shushes Kiba by running into him and kissing him. She places a hand into his cheek, and Kiba, taken aback, closed his eyes as he wrapped his hands into her. Their hearts were throbbing, their bodies burning like fire. Sparks filled the entire Inuzuka mansion as he kissed her harder.
There was no stopping in this, Kiba thought, slipping his serpent-like hands to her. When they were just friends and no other compassionate intentions, Kiba had removed Hinata in his list of girls he'd like to sleep with. He didn't even want to kiss her, nor feel any dark part of him that would want her, he respected her with all his heart and knew what would be at stake.
Hinata has devoted herself, her whole life, her entire universe to Naruto, and Kiba has had enough of her waiting and waiting from his journey with Jiraiya. It was sickening, Hinata being foolishly accompanied with the thoughts that they would be a thing when Naruto was obviously in love with Sakura. That's why Kiba would usually greet him with hostility. When everyone can see it but himself, and now he could feel the irony of what Naruto must have felt.
He was kissing her neck when he broke off. "You sure you don't want to slow down?" He asked. Hinata simply smiled, as she went back into kissing him. It filled him with a delight he never found on anyone—not even Chiruka.
"Hinata, you know I won't stop when it comes to this." He was placing tiny bits of kisses from her neck down to her chest. She had taken her shirt off and she didn't regret any of it.
"Why won't you be good at this and shut up?" Hinata asked, as she sat down to kiss him. Kiba kicked the pillow on the couch, and brought her in his lap. "So what happened with you and Naruto?" He asked. "Nothing you and I are doing." Hinata said sarcastically, with Kiba cutting her off with a french kiss. He could never get tired of kissing her. She was wet and it was getting more stirring. "Your boyfriend's gonna kill me."
"Ex,"Hinata corrected, letting him kiss her.
"And Nej will be doomed if he finds out. I'll be dead tomorrow. What if you don't see me?" Kiba was smiling. Hinata laughed, as she stopped and stared at him first. "When you see my dad right there, tell him I don't care." She whispered in her ear, as a cat would say meow. Kiba just kissed her again, her hands in her waist. Hinata scoops her hair in her right side so she could position herself more properly in front of him.
Something barked.
The two of them broke apart, as if one day in the academy the bell finally rang. Hinata wrapped a pillow in her chest while Kiba stared wondrously at Akamaru barking at them.
Akamaru, whose tail was wiggling.
"What are you doing, boy? Get back to your room." He said. He and Akamaru have been sharing the same room ever since, but the fact that the living room had been his private space made him think his room would be the best vacant one in the house. He stood up to tousle his pet's hair. "I know boy. Yes, I know what I'm doing." Kiba rolled his eyes. "She's pretty, isn't she?" He turned to look at the dumbfounded Hinata, sitting gracefuly in the couch, her hair tangled. "Akamaru said you're pretty.. And you're beautiful... And that he's gonna try to go away now."
He turned to Akamaru with a forced smile. "You are, right boy?"
Hinata just stared at Kiba fondly. The more she looked at him, the more she found herself staring at his appearance. Kiba had amazingly beautiful wolf-like eyes, spiky brunette hair, and his fang made him look sexier.
"Good night, buddy." He said, as Akamaru left giddily. He turned around to Hinata, unsure if he should be embarrassed or be awkward or just be in awe that Hinata was in her bra and shorts. She looked very cute like this, very cute.
He raised his hands. "Is this the part where he should stop, take a break, rewind, or play?" Kiba chortled. Hinata tucked her hair behind her ear, as Kiba went to her and carried her. They've touched each other as if they hungered for something—forgiveness, pity, love, eternal romance—the night lasted magically and he had to bring her to the room when they have fallen asleep in front of the fireplace, with blankets covered in them.
He placed her right there, right in his bed that Akamaru was wiggling his tail when they were finally inside. He kissed her forehead as he wrapped her in sheets, what a princess deserved. He left her first to shut the lights off. As he went back, Hinata placed her head in his naked chest. Do you accept me? He asked earlier. I accept you. I love you.
