Chapter Fifteen
I press the doorbell twice, to be precise and about five minutes later Conor opened the door he looked concerned.
"What took you so long?" I ask, one hand on my hip waiting for an answer.
"Well... You won't like this but Jack is here." He said, slightly stuttering.
"You know what Conor, just leave me alone. I'm just tired of this shit, I know what you were up to last night. I do hear things you know." I shout at him, seeing Jack behind him.
"Then go." He said, quietly.
I did, I walked to about four streets away and sat myself on the bench and called Joe.
"Hi Sarah."
"Hi Joe."
"What's up?"
"Do you have a spare room available?"
"Yes, what's the occasion?"
"I just need to get away from him, he has Jack in the house."
"I understand, where should I pick you up?"
"Erm... Tesco?"
"Sure, I'll be there in about half an hour."
"Alright bye."
"Bye."
Then the call was ended, I walked back to where the house was and walked to Tesco on the other side of the street.
I saw Jack walking out of the house, we made eye contact.
One word of advice, never make eye contact with anyone.
I just immediately looked away and waited ten seconds before looking back to see him still standing there.
Walking into the shop for minute and watching to see him disappear and I walk back out to see him in his car and I get into the passenger seat.
"Can you share what happened?" He asked.
"No, it's just too much. Joe, I can't." I tell him, resting my head into my hands.
"Alright, but I need to be a good brother." He told me.
"You already are." I tell him, getting my phone out.
I texted Zoe, she told me via text that I should try and text Conor.
"Zoe said that I should try call or text Conor.. Should I?" I ask Joe.
"I think you could try and call him first." He said.
"Now?" I question.
"Yep." Joe said, driving through the busy streets of London.
