Chapter 4: Fight

"One chicken ramen, please!" Naruto ordered as he sat next to Tenten at the Ichiraku Ramen Stand.

"I'll have a beef ramen, please." Tenten requested uncharacteristically quiet and timid, reminding Naruto of that Hyuga in his class, Hinata.

"Was the test hard?" Naruto asked as they waited on their food. Tenten grinned, rubbing the back of her head.

"Not really, it was kinda easy. All we had to do was do the three standard jutsu and boom, done."

"Clone, Substitution, and Henge?" Naruto asked, dread in his voice as Tenten nodded. "Damn, I can't get the clone jutsu down because I have such large reserves, I can't get my control down enough to do it." Tenten rose an eyebrow, taking another bite of her ramen.

"Shouldn't they make an exception for you then? I mean, didn't your dad say you had the most chakra in the village?" Naruto nodded.

"Yeah, but the academy won't understand that, and I doubt that the Hokage will understand that either. Dad says he has a pride issue." Tenten snorted.

"Your dad's funny, Naruto-senpai." Naruto rolled his eyes as he turned around again to eat his ramen, making Tenten's eyebrows furrow in disappointment again.

"Why won't you let me see your face? I'm tired of that boring black mask." Naruto brought the mask back up and faced Tenten, annoyance in his eyes.

"How many times must I tell you this? Hatake. Tradition." Tenten rolled her eyes at that.

"Your dad made that tradition, you're just a copycat." Naruto shrugged.

"Like father, like son I guess."

"You infuriate me."

"Oh well." Naruto responded simply. "It's my job."

"That you made for yourself." She muttered as Naruto paid for the food and they walked out the ramen stand together.

"Have fun with your girlfriend, Naruto-kun!" Ayame shouted, waving the two off as she picked up the empty bowls. Naruto's eyes widened as Tenten blushed.

"She's not my girlfriend!" He shouted before storming off, Tenten in pursuit.

"I'm a girl, and I'm your friend, right?" She asked, a smirk on her face as she cooled down the red on her face. It was rare to see Naruto Hatake flustered, and here she was seeing it twice in one day.

"Yes and yes, but, that's not, shut up." He said, retaining whatever was left of his cool and put his hands in his pockets. Tenten only laughed at the embarrassed Hatake.

"Naruto Hatake?" They heard a voice from behind them speak, causing the twelve year old and the eleven year old to turn around, only to be face to face with one of the many village elders, Danzo Shimura.

"Yes?" He replied respectfully.

"May I have a word with you," Danzo spoke, his eye shifting to Tenten. "Alone?" Tenten shifted uncomfortably, not meeting the elder's gaze.

"Uh, sure." Naruto spoke, giving Tenten and apologetic look before he began walking with Danzo in the opposite direction. "I'll see you later, Tenten!" He called out quickly.

"Yeah, later." Tenten said weakly, before going back home, her whole mood ruined for the rest of the day.

"What can I help you with?" Naruto asked.

"Well, I wanted to discuss the Kyuubi with you, since you have the potential to be the strongest Jinchuuriki, how about I help you reach that faster?"

"Kyuubi? Jinchuuriki? No disrespect intended, sir, but what do you mean?" Danzo's one eye widened.

"Do you not know? Has Kakashi really not told you yet?"

"Told me what?" Danzo grabbed Naruto by the shoulder and the two disappeared in a swirl of leaves as they appeared on the top of one of the many roof tops. "What's going on?" Naruto asked in a confused tone.

"Naruto, listen to me carefully. You are the Jinchuuriki of the Kyuubi. You hold the strongest bijuu of them all in your stomach. When you were born, the Fourth Hokage sacrificed himself to seal the Nine Tails in you." Danzo explained slowly, watching Naruto's eyes widen in a mix of shock and horror.

"Have you noticed why the villages seem to only tolerate you? Just barely acknowledging your existence, but just enough to keep you satisfied?" Naruto took a step back, before falling on his butt, his hands on his head as his fingers ran through his grey locks.

"Please tell me this is all a joke, a thing to make me lose my cool again, please say that this is just a prank!" Naruto yelled as tears gathered up in his eyes. Danzo only shook his head.

"Why me? Why did I have to be the container of the fucking Kyuubi?" He yelled.

"Because a newborn baby doesn't have chakra coils yet, so Minato, that fool of a Hokage, decided to put inside of his student's son." Naruto looked at Danzo.

"Why didn't my dad tell me about this? Why keep it a secret! I don't understand!"

"Perhaps, he thought you weren't ready to learn your true reason in life, and that's to be a weapon of the village."

"A, weapon?" Danzo nodded.

"The potential to be a perfect one at that. You have potential, more potential than any other Jinchuuriki who has ever lived in fact! When your Sharingan activates, you will be much, much stronger." Naruto took a step back.

"What do you mean, Sharingan? I thought only Uchihas could activate that." Danzo visibly frowned.

"I guess your father hasn't told you that either. I hate to be the one to tell you all of this, it's not my place, but it seems I must. You become a Genin next year, and I want you to be as strong as you can."

"What does that have to do with the Sharingan?"

"Naruto, your mother was Obito Uchiha, and she was murdered soon after you were born by some unknown Uchiha members who had wanted to keep the bloodline clean, but as you can see, you're a living testament that they've failed." Naruto fell to his knees, a single stream of tears crawling down his face.

"The Uchiha, killed my mom, because...she had me?" Danzo nodded.

"As bad as it sounds, it is true." Naruto felt his hands ball into fist unconsciously so hard that his nails, which were now sharpened, dug into his palm and he began leaking blood.

"Can you make me stronger, Danzo?" Danzo felt a smirk tug on his lips.

"I can, but will you be our secret weapon? Will you be used for the will of Konoha? And carry out your missions that you are ordered to do?" Naruto's grey eyes glazed over, the amount of betrayal and hatred currently in his heart barely being able to be contained.

Everyone lied to him, from the start of his birth, they've lied. Not only was he the Jinchuuriki of the Nine Tailed Fox, he was also the son of an Uchiha, they didn't trust him to hold this information.

They didn't trust him.

But Danzo did, Danzo trusted him enough to tell him the truth, and to make him a weapon for the village to use.

"Of course, Danzo-sensei." Danzo let the smirk appear on his face, extremely pleased.

"Good."

1 Year Later

"And Team 7 will consist of Naruto Hatake, Sakura Haruno, and Sasuke Uchiha." Sakura and Sasuke fist pumped the air for two very different reasons.

Sakura had pumped the air because she was on a team with the two hottest guys of the academy, if she couldn't have one, she'd have the other, or so she thought. Sasuke had pumped the air because he was on a team with Naruto, who was his only friend besides Shisui, but that didn't count, Shisui was his cousin.

"...your sensei will be Kurenai Yuhi." That was all Naruto needed to hear before he stood up and began leaving the classroom, only to be stopped by Mizuki, who stood in front of the door, a confused look upon the Chunin's face.

"Where ya going, Naruto? Kurenai-sensei will be here soon to pick you guys up." Naruto looked at Mizuki unnervingly.

He preferred Mizuki over Iruka, he was less of a hard ass and seemed to not judge Naruto by his burden of the Kyuubi, nor did he call on the boy when he was in a bad mood, which was now quite often.

Ever since that day, he's changed. He's gotten colder, slowly pushing away his friends, and completely ending his friendship with Tenten and Neji, who had decided to end the friendship due to Naruto always ditching them after school to go do something, which was to train with Danzo, which they didn't know.

His relationship with his father had all but vanished, now being strangers to one another so much that Naruto hadn't spoken to his father for a total of three months, though, Kakashi had no idea why, he just thought the boy was going through a emo phase.

The only people Naruto genuinely liked were Danzo and Sasuke, one training him everyday after the academy, and the other not trying to pry into his business too much.

"If she is indeed a Jonin, then she will be able to find me with ease. If not, then I will be requesting to be an apprentice." Everyone glared at Naruto, thinking that the boy was arrogant. Mizuki laughed.

"It's hard to find a good person who would become someone's sensei just because someone didn't like there Genin Cell." Mizuki said. "You'll have to give me a better reason than that, Naruto."

"Fine, get out of my way because I said so, I graduated and I'm unofficially a Genin. You are no longer my sensei, you are just Mizuki." Mizuki's face soured at that, realizing that the silver haired boy was right. But that didn't make the answer any better.

"Treat Mizuki-sensei with respect!" One of the kids yelled. Then, the whole class decided to shout out their opinions of Naruto, who had become a complete dick in their eyes over the last year.

His right eye began twitching, anger bubbling up in him as his eyes turned a bright red with a single black slit in the middle.

"Would you shut the hell up!" He shouted, his voice amplified from the exposure of the chakra from the Kyuubi. Everyone suddenly got silent. "I could give less than negative two shits about what you think about me, I didn't come here to be liked, I came here to become a Genin, which is really easy to get by the way, so how about all of you just fuck off!" He shouted.

Iruka and Mizuki got on guard immediately, hands on their kunai pouches if needed. Naruto turned towards Mizuki once again, his grey eyes back, making Mizuki think that maybe he saw the whole thing in his head.

"Now get out of my way, please." Naruto stressed the last word, and Mizuki knew he couldn't deny the boy passage once again and he stepped outside the room, a sigh escaping his mouth as he walked outside, the fresh air feeling good against his forehead.

"You seemed mildly pleased with yourself, did you pass?" A voice spoke up from behind Naruto, making him freeze. It was his father.

"Yes, I did." Naruto spoke softly, the three months of not speaking to his father breaking in an instant. Kakashi forced a strained smile through his mask.

"Good, I wanted to give you something." Kakashi brought out a scroll before unsealing it, revealing a short sword, one that made Naruto's eyes widen.

"That's. . ." Kakashi nodded.

"Yes, this is my old chakra blade, passed down from my father." Naruto slowly grabbed the sword, pulling it out of it's scabbard, watching as the silver blade glistened in the sun.

"Thank you." Naruto choked out as he put the blade back in it's scabbard, and he turned around and began turning around and was walking away.

"Hey, where ya going, I was hoping to take you out for some ramen to celebrate!" Kakashi said as he grabbed Naruto's shoulder. Naruto shrugged Kakashi off in one smooth motion as he put the blade on his back.

"No thank you. I've already eaten." He lied before he disappeared in a body flicker, leaving Kakashi to look at the spot his son was just standing with sad eyes.

He's noticed that Naruto's gotten a lot more distant, but couldn't figure out why. Did he do something to make Naruto made? Anything?

With Naruto

Naruto went to the training grounds where he and Danzo always met after school, and was shocked that he saw two of his former friends and their teammate.

Tenten, Neji, and Rock Lee stood in front of the wooden post, all eyes on Naruto.

"So, you're finally a Genin, huh? Bout time, Naruto." Tenten spoke. Naruto rolled his eyes.

"If you don't have something meaningful to say to me, then get off of my training grounds." Neji rose his eyebrow.

"These aren't your training grounds, Hatake, these can be used to any ninja who wishes." Naruto glared at the Hyuga.

"What do you want?"

"A youthful fight! That is what we want!" Rock Lee exploded, but Naruto expression didn't change.

"Fine." He responded, getting surprised looks in response. "But to make it fair, you all attack me at once." He said as he pulled out his father's old sword. "It's a little shorter than what I'm used too, but it'll do the trick." The sword seemed to hum in agreement, glowing just a tad as lightning flickered on and off the blade.

"Three on one? You've gotten confident over the year, haven't you?" Tenten said, holding a kunai in hand.

"And you have gotten arrogant since we last spoke, Tenten. Now, stop wasting my time and come!" The three experienced Genin charged, only to be knocked back by a wind jutsu that came from behind Naruto, who's eyes widened as he watched the three 13 year olds get knocked back.

"What do you think you're doing, Naruto?" Danzo said causing Naruto to turn around.

"Those three wanted a fight, so I was prepared to give it to them." Danzo sighed.

"Naruto, we both said no fighting until you go on your first C-Rank mission. You tend to go overboard, or have you forgotten?" Naruto froze, his eyes losing all clarity, a mist spreading as a flashback occurred in his mind, and he fought back the urge to throw up.

"You could've killed them. Don't make that mistake again." Naruto bowed.

"Yes, Danzo-sensei." Danzo let a frown come across his face as he approached the three senior Genin.

"And what do you think you're doing? Attacking my student like that? Unsupervised at that, I will make sure your sensei knows of this, now leave." Neji and Tenten sent a glare at Naruto, who didn't flinch under their stares and Rock Lee only waved before they left the training grounds.

Danzo turned back around to face Naruto, the boy meeting his gaze as a smirk of approval crossed his face.

"Just so you know, you're not officially a Genin yet. You still have to complete the real test with your sensei first." Naruto nodded.

"Yes, Sai-senpai spoke of that. But he didn't reveal the secret meaning of the test." Danzo nodded.

"Good, I want you to figure it out on your own." Danzo spoke. "I'm proud of you, Naruto. I've trained Root before, but I've never actually enjoyed doing so." Naruto's eyes widened in shock. Danzo never, ever, complimented him before, only saying that he could do better or that he did it correctly. "And now that you're out of the academy, I can no longer teach you since you have your own Jonin sensei." Naruto understood the meaning.

He was no longer going to see Danzo.

He already knew that they weren't supposed to be meeting, but to actually stop his training so abruptly, put Naruto off. Naruto bowed.

"Thank you for training me, Danzo-sama." Danzo nodded.

"I'm only planting the seed so the roots can take place to turn into an ever bigger tree." Danzo spoke before vanishing.

"Naruto Hatake?" He heard a voice speak up and he lifted his head up, only to see a beautiful woman standing in front of him, with Sasuke and Sakura in tow.

"Woah. . ." He's never been so relieved to have a mask.

And done! Once again, longer chapter. How was it? Good? Bad? Tell meeeee!
