Chapter 32: Mission
"You've gotten stronger, Naruto." A tall teenager boy said, his spiky black hair blowing in the wind, his Mangekyou Sharingan spinning as he glared at the teen below him. "I can see why you killed Itachi so easily." Naruto was breathing hard, blood running down his eye as the overuse of the Mangekyou stung his eyes.
"I thought you were strong Shisui, turns out I was wrong!" Naruto tried to send an electric shock and hit Shisui, but failed when a man in an orange mask easily stopped the lightning with a single wind blade, cutting the current in half and Naruto watched in shock as it dissipated into nothingness.
"Who are you?" Shisui looked equally surprised and took a defensive position.
"A wanderer. I thought I saw something interesting so I came to see and participate." He looked over at Naruto, a single eye hole seemingly hinting at unending darkness. "But I don't like the way you look so, I'll help the Uchiha kill you before I kill the Uchiha." Naruto's eyes widened in shock and fear as the masked man held out a single black rod.
"Naruto Hatake, I must insist that you die."
Kioku sat up quickly, sweat dripping off his forehead, a sharp pain on his neck and on his eye. What the hell was that? A dream? Who was this Naruto? Was it someone linked to his past? If so, then who? Why did he suddenly start hearing the boy's name?
His blood froze. That voice, the scary, bad voice in his head, and the image of a teenager that he saw, that was Naruto. What did he want? Why was he haunting him? What has he done wrong? He had so many-
"Oh, you're up. It's about time." He heard a voice say. He turned his head to see Kurotsuchi leaning in a chair, her usual kept hair now a mess. "You went freaky again, luckily, no one got hurt." Kioku's hands clenched together as he felt his emotions going wild.
"I'm tired of seeing this bastard and losing my mind at random moments! It sucks!" He felt tears prick at his eyes. "I'm so tired of almost hurting people and waking up in a hospital bed. I feel like it's getting worse and the pills aren't helping anymore! Naruto haunts me." Kurotsuchi's eyebrows shot up, but she quickly regained her composure.
"Who's Naruto?" Kioku shrugged.
"The guy who I keep seeing in my head. He finally has a name. The Hokage guy knew of that guy, maybe they knew each other?" Kurotsuchi shrugged.
"I mean, why would anyone want to haunt you? You're aren't a piece of candy you know." Kioku let a small smile come across his face.
"You know you love me," Kioku responded, a full grin on his face now before he got off the bed, rubbing his neck. "Thank the Anbu who stuck a needle in my neck, it barely hurts but it did the trick." Kurotsuchi smiled softly at the raven colored haired teen in front of her.
"I'm just glad you're okay." Kioku nodded.
"Me too." He replied, stretching as a yawn escaped from his mouth. "Welp, let's go home then, shall we? We have to tell Gramps about the alliance to defeat the Akatsuki people."
"Yeah, we don't really have any times to waste. If word gets out that we came to Kumo after the Hokage just came to our village for an alliance, it'll be a political outroar and we might just be dragged into another stupid war." Kioku was about to respond when a loud explosion was heard, rippling through the air and causing everything to vibrate around them, sending shivers up their spines.
"What was that?" She yelled, opening the blinds of the hospital window to reveal the Raikage's Tower on fire, black smoke pummeling out of it like there was no tomorrow.
"Bee-san!" Kioku shouted as he quickly rushed out the window, followed by a rather frantic Kurotsuchi, trying to make sure Kioku didn't hurt himself. They ran on the roofs of the many houses that belonged to the villagers, not wanting to run in the direction the crowd of villagers was coming from.
They weren't the only shinobi on said roofs, many shinobi were darting as fast as they could to see what exactly caused the attack. When they arrived, Kioku wasted no time as he went running into the building, but was held back by several Kumo Nin.
"You can't go in there! It's not safe! There could be more bombs!" One of them yelled. Kioku struggled against them, trying his best to get out of their grasp.
"No! I need to help him! He's my friend!" Kioku shouted, thinking of Bee. He might still be in there, he might be injured or even worse. No, he wouldn't think like that, he needed to be positive.
"We can't let you go in there, wait for the Water Jutsu specialist to get here to put out the fire." One of the Kumo Nin said apologetically.
"I'm sorry," Kioku said as he sent an electric current across his body, shocking the Kumo Ninja off of him. He ran forward, ignoring the protest from the other shinobi around him, including Kurotsuchi. He took a deep breath and ran into the burning building. There were charred bodies laid across the floors, their burning flesh permeating in his nose, causing him to throw up right then and there.
Wiping his mouth, he internally said a little prayer before running up the stairs, ignoring the flames and the smoke that was scattered everywhere. He began coughing, the inhaling the smoke by accident and quickly coated his lungs with a thick coat of chakra, that way he could protect himself and breath evenly without dying of carbon monoxide poisoning.
He burst into the office and was horrified when he saw a single man in a black cloak standing over Ay's dead body while Bee hung to the ceiling with all of his swords pinning him by his chest and limbs, blood seeping from his mouth, also dead.
"No," Kioki whispered, a wave of anger and sadness coming over him. Bee, Ay, they were dead. The man in the cloak turned around, and Kioku saw a pair of red eyes with four-pronged shuriken in each eye, marking him as an Uchiha, making this an attack from the Leaf.
The man smirked, seeing Kioku look at him helplessly. He had already killed the Raikage and the Eight-Tails Jinchuuriki, his mission was complete.
"I can't let you get away with this," Kioku said between gritted teeth, holding his sword up as tears flow freely down his cheeks, a small purple chakra emitting from his body, his three tomoe Sharingan now on. "I'll make you pay!" He shouted but in a blink of an eye, he was slammed against the wall of the office, the Mangekyou Sharingan wielder pinning him by his neck, his face right next to his.
"You couldn't defeat me even if I were to put down all my weapons. You're so weak, so pathetically weak, come find me when you're strong again, but this time," His voice got low and turned into a whisper, and Kioku could barely hear it under the loud burning of the fire, but when the man said those last words, his eyes widened as he slumped to the ground.
"I hope we meet again, but next time, on the battlefield." Then, the man disappeared in thin air, as if he hadn't been there at all. Kioku struggled to stand up, breathing heavily, clutching his chest.
He then heard a small sizzle sound and glanced at the ground and saw several paper bombs just about to go off. He ran and jumped out the window just when the explosion rippled through the air, causing him to go farther than anticipated and making him crash into a building and he fell to the ground, landing with a loud thump.
More explosions were heard as he felt blood run down his temple, hearing a siren going off in his head as he saw a blurred vision of multiple figures approaching him at once.
But it didn't matter. The Raikage and Kumo's Perfect Jinchuuriki were dead.
They lost the war before it could even truly begin.
And done. How was it? Good? Bad? Tell meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
