Chapter 25: Promises Kept
"The Uchiha Police are here to save us!" A couple of newly graduated yelled in joy as they caught saw the Uchiha running towards them with swords out, thinking that they would save them from the Sound and Sand shinobi who threatened to kill them.
Wait a minute. . .
"Why aren't they going towards the Sand ninja?" An academy kid whispered to himself, not being heard from the cheers of the other kids. The Uchiha smirked cruelly before they cut into the children, slicing their necks.
"Wha-" A child got out as she collapsed to her knees, before falling to the ground, dead.
"Now, where are those other brats?" The captain of the brat asked his group, hoping they'd have an answer.
"I don't know boss, let's just check the rest of the rooms." Before the captain could reply, he suddenly stopped as he turned to his left, and there standing, was Naruto Hatake, his mask on and his Sharingan glaring at them.
"Ha, the renegade Uchiha, come to protect your pathetic village?" Naruto unsheathed his sword, his head facing the ground as lightning surrounded his sword, his trademark attack.
"I'm going to kill every last Uchiha besides Sasuke," He looked up, his Mangeykou freely spinning. "Even the innocent ones!" The Uchiha felt an unrivaled darkness coming out of the boy, but steeled their nerves, charging him with battle cries, but in only a few swift seconds, and seemingly without moving, Naruto sheathed his sword, and they all fell to the ground, blood coming from various parts of their body.
He jumped up off the ground, springing about thirty feet in the air before spinning in the air, his Sharingan tracking each and every hostile nin that was in his vision as he threw kunai and shuriken at them, each one hitting their targets, either killing them instantly or hitting a fatal spot that only the best medics could heal.
And there were no medics on the front lines.
He landed on the ground gracefully, not a sound was heard. He looked at the deceased bodies of the young Genin and the academy students and his eyes narrowed. They'd pay. He'd make them pay for this!
He was interrupted from his thoughts as he saw a couple of Chunin from Leaf and Sand alike get caught up in some sand claws, before being squished as blood splattered everywhere, painting the walls of the houses and shops crimson.
"HATAAAAKKKEEEEE!! WHEEERRREEE ARRREEE YOOOOUUUUUUU???" He heard Gaara's voice laced with demon chakra howl into the wind, and he felt his grip tighten, his nails digging into his palms as he felt blood travel down his hands.
IF, he could save Gaara, he would. If not, he'd kill him like the rest, like cattle. He ran forward, turning the corner and saw Gaara whispering to himself as drool left his mouth, dripping onto the ground like a hose that was barely on. He turned his head, and caught sight of Naruto, his face turned into a twisted smile.
"There you are," He said in a soft tone, as if pleased with himself that he had found what he was looking for. "Let mother taste your blood!" He screamed out as sand charged towards Naruto, but the teen jumped up, narrowly avoiding the sand, he stabbed the sand with his sword, separating the sand with the chakra enhanced sword, splitting apart the grains of sand before he vanished mid air.
"Where are you?!" Gaara shouted, then, his sand blocked a leg that would've been connected to his cheek, but suddenly the leg turned to water, causing the sand to get wet, and this time, a fist connected with Gaara's face, causing the sand on his face to dissipate a little, but it quickly reformed even thicker than before.
"Yes! Give me a fight, Hatake!" Gaara made a single hand seal. "Mother wants to see you in despair herself! Watch as everyone around you dies, I am the real monster between the two of us! Playing Possom Jutsu!" He cried out before falling over, unconscious. Suddenly, a foul chakra permeated the air, filling it with heavy killing intent that made Naruto take a single step back.
Even with his newfound powers, could he even dare try to compare to that thing? This was a a tailed beast he was fighting now! Not a Jinchuuriki! He couldn't, he can't. Naruto fell to his knees, his resolve finally breaking as he let go of his sword.
They'd die. Everyone would die. There was no Fourth Hokage to seal this demon away, and now, now he couldn't do a single got damn thing. Why had he even started this thing, knowing damn well he couldn't finish it?
Oh. . .
. . .right.
"I'll kill you! I swear it! I'll kill you both for what you've done!" To avenge Zabuza.
"Thank you, Naruto-kun." Haku said, smiling shyly. To protect Haku.
"I believe that you will do great things in the future, Naruto." To keep his promise to Torune.
"You are a blade that this village shall wield, and will cut into any enemy to protect the village." To be a weapon for Konoha's will, Danzo had said.
"She loved you to death, Naruto." Zetsu spoke. To honor his mother.
"The Will of Fire shall burn ever brighter with you, Naruto-kun." Because Hiruzen believed in him.
"It was your grandpa's sword, then mine, and now, it's yours." Because his father loved him.
Because. . .
"I NEED TO PROTECT EVERYTHING I LOVE!" Naruto shouted, his eyes suddenly gushing blood as his Mangeykou swirled in circles, his cheeks being stained crimson as a he stood in the middle of a grey figure made of pure chakra that rivaled Shukaku's height with a blade on it's left hip, two small wings sprouting from it's back as grey armor covered the body.
Red chakra began pouring out of the eyes of the giant grey mass of chakra as it suddenly formed another sword, this one being red as the figure grabbed the one grey sword, and the one red sword, and pulled it out, and in one swift motion, Shukaku's tail was off.
"You bastard!" Shukaku screamed, his voice obviously crazy. "I'll kill you and this pathetic village!"
"You dare threaten my village and my peace of mind?" Naruto shouted, furious. "I'll make you pay, then beat the shit out of that love boy!" Before the sand could reform, Naruto swiped the blades together as if on instinct, and a large bolt of energy came off of it, hitting Shukaku straight in the face, causing Gaara's body to come free and to go flying.
"NOOO! I only just got freeee!" Shukaku screamed as his voice got smaller. Gaara landed in a small patch of grass and flowers, and Naruto deactivated his Susanoo, trying his best to stop the bleeding from continuing in his eyes, dizziness taking over his form.
No, he couldn't pass out yet. Orochimaru's snake summons were still in affect, destroying the village. He needed to kill them and save as many people as he could. Then, he'd deal with the Uchiha. It was personal, but first, Gaara.
He walked forward, a kunai loosely gripped in his right hand as he staggered forward.
"You're strong, Gaara. B-but," Naruto began, breathing heavily, his vision distorting. Damn, what the hell was wrong with him? "No matter how many times you release Shukaku, I'll keep kicking your ass, over and over again." Gaara, who was laying on the ground, looked at him with wide eyes.
"How are you so strong?" He asked simply, too weak to move, out of chakra to control sound. He was at the mercy of Naruto.
"Because, I have things I need to protect, and goals to fulfill, and promises to keep. I can't just let go everything. Not anymore." Gaara's eyes widened at that.
"I see." He replied. "How does one obtain something like that?" Naruto grimaced as he felt his headache intensifying.
"You already have those things, you have a father, a brother, and a sister. They all care about you. Don't take them for granted, ever again." Gaara was suddenly lifted up by his two siblings. Temari sent an appreciative glance to Naruto.
"Thank you, Naruto." He nodded, but collapsed to one knee.
"Go," He said, his voice rough. "I can't protect you all if we're surrounded by Anbu, go back home. I'll get in touch soon." He looked at Gaara, meeting the boy's teal eyes. "Live for others, and you shall always be strong." Gaara nodded as the trio turned around and began running with the boy in his arms.
"Temari, Kankuro," Gaara began as they ran away, his eyes on the ground, a new light in them that wasn't there before. "I'm sorry." Naruto watched as they disappeared from sight, and sighed.
He was tired. But, he needed to protect everyone. He turned around, but was met with the eyes of Shisui Uchiha, his Sharingan active, a sword in his hand.
"Hello Naruto, this is for Itachi."
"Is he dead?" A figure asked, sitting in the dark as he watched the young man in front of him nod.
"Yes, I disposed his body in the Naka River that flows directly to the ocean. Naruto Hatake is no more." Fugaku smirked, his eyes hidden under the Hokage Hat.
Yes, everything was going according to plan.
Done. Is, Naruto actually dead? I think so. I mean, yeah.
Anyways, bad ending as in villain wins! I haven't forgotten, I left the holes there on purpose, for they will be filled in in later chapters.
Anyways,
Til next time my lil demons!
