"Are we really taking those two with us when we're done? They might cause trouble." Asuma grumbled as he sat on the side of the bridge. Kurenai rolled her eyes. 

"Yes, I promised Naruto that we would at least try." Asuma's eyes hardened at the mention of the Hatake. 

"Who the hell cares about what the brat wants?" He said, obvious hate in his voice. Kurenai glared at Asuma. 

"I do. He's my student, and I've never seen him this happy in, well, ever. He's even taken off his mask. Sakura thinks the whiskers are cute." Asuma rolled his eyes as he shook his head. 

"Whatever. . ." He mumbled before they felt a large chakra pulse coming from the unfinished part of the bridge. "What was that?" Asuma said as he immediately got on guard, bringing out his two chakra brass knuckle-blades, as a heavy Mist began setting in. "Did Zabuza change his mind?" 

"No," Kurenai whispered. "T-this is a much larger chakra, it isn't Zabuza." They heard a loud chuckling before two figures emerged from the Mist. 

"You're right," One of the men said. He was a tall man with pale skin, he had green hair on the top of his head, with a single mask that seemed to be cut in half, covering the left side of his face, only revealing a single purple eye with a smirk on his face, revealing a few sharp teeth. On his back, was a large battle fan.

"But we're looking for Zabuza." The other man said. He was shorter than the other man, about six feet tall. He had short, brown hair and a mask that covered his the upper half of his face, only revealing a mouth that was in a thin line. He had a small, thin sword on his hip. They were both wearing Mist insignia's on their mask. 

"And if you don't tell us where he is, we'll cut open you're insides." The man with the mask covering his eyes looked over at the other man. 

"Kazuma, a word of advice, don't threaten Konoha shinobi when we have no quarrels with them." The other man rolled his only visible eye. 

"Such a buzzkill, Komihoro." The one named Komihoro, frowned and bowed to the two Leaf Ninja. 

"I humbly ask you do not interfere with our mission. We are to hunt and kill Zabuza Momochi and his accomplice on orders of the 4th Mizukage." Asuma grimaced as he realized their situation. 

"Kurenai. . ." He said in a warning tone. 

"I know, Asuma." She whispered. "But I just can't-" 

"These guys are above our pay grade. We are not going to protect a Missing Ninja just beecause some student wants to have two more friends." 

"I, I," Kurenai began before she released the tension in her body. "Fine." She whispered. The man had a neutral smile on his face.

"Thank you." Komihoro said as the duo began walking forwards, passing the two Jonin, leaving chills down their spines. 

With Naruto

"Come on, you have to be faster than that!" Zabuza shouted as he quickly tripped Naruto, causing the boy to land on his back. He held his sword down on the boy's throat. "I don't know how in hell you're stronger than Haku, she should be on the same level as me." 

"Maybe I'm going easy on you." Naruto smirked before he disappeared in a puff of smoke, before revealing the real Naruto as he tried his best to lop Zabuza's head off, only to fail as the man easily parried his blade and kicked the grey haired boy in his stomach, causing saliva to come out of his mouth. 

"Yeah right, you still have years upon years til you can best me, brat." Zabuza spoke as he held out his hand, watching with a small smirk as Naruto grasped it and was hoisted up to his feet. Haku, who was sitting on the sidelines, clapped quietly, praising Zabuza and mocking Naruto. 

"Good job, Zabuza-sama, I never had any doubt." Naruto frowned, rubbing the back of his head. 

"Well jeez, Haku-chan, I'm not that praiseworthy." Naruto said as he looked at Haku, who scratched her cheek as a healthy blush spread across her face. 

"Sorry, Naruto-kun, you did good as well, for a Genin I suppose." Naruto felt his eye twitch. 

"The hell is that supposed to mean. "For a Genin"? I'll have you know I'm the strongest Genin in my village!" He stated proudly, only for Haku to sweat drop. 

"That's a little disappointing." She said as she looked at him. Zabuza began laughing. 

"She got you there kid." He said in between laughs. Naruto narrowed his eyes at Haku, who was sporting a smile. 

"Well, if it's disappointing, then come on lil miss ice." Haku took out a pair of senbon needles, standing up, ready to meet Naruto's challenge, before a voice broke the happiness in the air. 

"Zabuza Momochi, under the order of the 4th Mizukage, you and your accomplice are to be put to death." Zabuza immediately had his sword in hand again. 

"Komihoro and Kazuma, why am I not surprised that bastard sent you two here?" Kazuma laughed, his green hair blowing to the side in the wind. 

"It's been awhile. I see you still wield that sword, even though it belongs to Mist, not the likes of you." Kazuma said calmly as he took off the battle fan from his back. "This is a fan from the famous Uchiha Clan, I stole it from a cave I found near Fire Country.  It has a special chakra conductor that enables me to use my elemental affinity with it." 

"Zabuza, please let's handle this without too much of a fuss. We've already gotten a confirmation that the Konoha Shinobi would not interfere." Naruto narrowed his eyes.  

"And who in the hell said that?" The one named Kazuma laughed. 

"The super hot chick and that tan guy who had a cigarette." Naruto narrowed his eyes. 

"Asuma and Kurenai, why am I not surprised." He took out his chakra sword, it coming to life as electricity sparkled around it. "But to get these two, you'll have to get through me." 

"A regrettable choice, Konoha ninja." Komihoro said as he drew out his slim sword. "I do not wish to cross blades with you, but if I must, then it shall be done." Naruto snarled. 

"Respectful bastard!" Naruto shouted, charging, his sword ready to strike. 

"Naruto! No!" Zabuza shouted before appearing in front of the boy, stopping him from getting any further. "These guys are too strong for you and Haku, take her and run!" 

"Zabuza-sama! No!" Haku shouted, trying to rush forward, but Naruto grabbed her before she could go any further. 

"If you spare her, I won't even put up a fight, she's an innocent." Kazuma rose his visible eyebrow, obviously shocked. 

"Oh really? Has the demon really been tamed?" Kazuma asked in a mocking tone. "Hell n-" 

"Agreed." Komihoro said as he looked at Zabuza. "The girl will be spared if you do not put up a fight." Zabuza nodded and got on his knees, throwing his sword away from himself. 

"Naruto! Let me go! I have to save him! I'm his tool! I have to help him! He's my precious person! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go!" Haku cried out, shouting as tears ran freely down her face as Naruto held her back, slowly dragging her back. Zabuza took off his wrappings that had been on his face, and smiled at the two. 

"Haku, you were like a daughter to me. I'm sorry I trained you to be a tool and live such a bad life." He said sincerely as he looked her in the eyes. "Naruto," He began, shifting his eyes to Naruto, who's eyes had shifted to his Sharingan. "Please, protect her." Naruto slowly nodded, tears in his eyes as he watched the man give up his life for the one he loved. 

"And last words, Zabuza?" Komihoro asked as he held up his sword. Zabuza thought about it for a second, before nodding. 

"Zabuza-sama!" Haku screamed and Zabuza said one last thing. 

"Haku, Naruto, find your own dreams." He said loud enough for them to hear. He let a true smile come across his smile, and Komihoro's sword came down, cutting off the man's head. 

"Noooooooooooo!" Haku shouted as she stopped struggling, watching as her father figures head rolled on the ground as his body fell to the ground with a thump. Naruto felt his eyes burn as another comma formed in his eyes, making two in total in each eye. 

"Haku-chan," He whispered, tears spilling out of his eyes. "I'm so sorry." He whispered as he held the sobbing girl in his arms, slowly stroking her black hair. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." He said as he felt her shake in his arms. He slowly looked up, his Sharingan eyes having black slits going straight down the middle. 

"I'll kill you." Naruto said as he glared at the two figures. Kazuma rose his eyebrow up, his eyes holding hidden mischief. 

"Is that a threat?" He asked, his fan ready to attack. 

"A threat?" Naruto asked. "No, it's a promise. You killed Zabuza, and you hurt Haku-chan, I'll kill you. I'll kill you both. Not today, not tomorrow, shit, probably not even in a year, but it'll happen. I will kill you." Kazuma smirked. 

"Well, if that's the case. . ." He was ready to run forward, only to be stopped by Komihoro, who raised his hand once. 

"Stop. We must honor our agreement with Zabuza." Komihoro said as he sealed the body of Zabuza up, along with the sword. "Hold onto that hatred. It will be useful one day. When you think you're ready, you will face us once again, and then, we will see if your promise will be upheld. Let us  go, Kazuma, the Mizukage will be pleased." 

"Heh, you got lucky brat. Next time, he won't be able to save your sorry ass." He said, spitting at the boy before both the men vanished as their bodies turned to water, causing the dirt below them to get wet. 

"Damn them." Naruto cursed.

"Why?" Haku whispered as she hit Naruto in the chest. "Why didn't you let me save him?!" She shouted as she repeatedly hit him in the chest. "Why? Why? Why? Why? Why?" She shouted at him, each punch getting weaker and weaker. "Why?" She croaked out, leaning her head on his shoulder. 

"He asked me to protect you. And that's exactly what I'll do. I'll protect you at any cost. I promise." He whispered hugging her closer. 

It was a dark day for Haku Yuki and Naruto Hatake.
