~Aaliyah's Pov~

I came back to Rick's place with Carl. "Aaliyah." Rick said stopping me. We both turned around to look at him. I looked at him. "Who was that..?" he asked looking at me. I kept looking at him. "No one important.." i said shaking my head and walking. "Aaliyah." he said again. I stopped walking up the steps and looked back at him.

"Who was who?" Carl asked looking at Rick. I looked at Rick and stepped down a step. "That was my dad.." I said looking at him. "Your dad's a Savior.?" Carl asked. I looked at him and nodded. "I thought he was dead. But he's not." I said softly. "What happened?" Carl asked looking at me.

"He came after me." I said looking at him. "What to you mean?" He asked. I shook my head a bit. "He just saw me and came to me.. But Negan stopped him." i said looking at him.

~The next day~

Rick, Aaron and Michonne were out. They weren't here and i really wanted to see Maggie. I didn't even know if she was okay.. I grabbed my knife and headed downstairs. "Where are you going?" I heard Carl. I turned to see him walking downstairs too. "I want to go to the Hilltop.." i said looking at him as he walked down the stairs.

"How are you gonna get there." he said reaching me. "How else.?" i asked turning. He grabbed my hand. "You're walking to the Hilltop.?" he said looking at me. "Yes Carl, I'm walking to the Hilltop." I said looking at him. "it's far." he said. "I know." I said and walked again. "I'll be okay." i said walking to the door. He walked up and closed it. I backed away and hit his chest, He scared me.

He kept his hand on the door. "Maybe me you will." he said against my ear. "Maybe you wont." He said. I turned around and he looked at me. "I can't let you go. The Saviors are out there. You don't have a gun." He said. "I need to talk to Maggie." I said looking at him. He kept looking at me. "Please i need to see her.." i said shaking my head as my heart started racing.

"You saw what they did Liyah." He said. "I know. But i have to see her- I need to see her-" i said looking at him. He kept looking at me. "Please Carl." I said looking at me. His gaze never left mine. "Please." I said again. He looked down and moved my shirt a bit to reveal my blade. "Fine.. But i'm going with you." He said looking at me.

I nodded. "okay- okay." i said nodding. "Alright, let's go." He said taking his hand off the door. We snuck out of Alexandria and started walking to the Hilltop.

We were walking the roads, Carl and I. We have been for a few minutes. It was quiet but it wasn't awkward. "Can i tell you something.. And i know it's gonna make you upset. If you want me to stop talking just tell me and i'll stop." He said. I looked at him and he looked at me. "okay.." i said softly and looked forward again.

"I'm not sorry i watched.." he said looking down at the road. I looked up at him. "I watched it. Both times and i didn't look away." he said looking over at me. I kept looking at him and the Images started coming to my mind. I looked away from him and he held my hand.

"I looked because when it was happening i knew i needed to remember it." He said as he kept looking at me. He wanted to make sure that i was okay in a way.. he knew when to stop, if he saw that it was too much for me he'll stop. "So when i have the chance to kill him i wouldn't have a choice." he said looking at me.

I swallowed the lump in my throat softly. "We don't know if Maggie's okay.." i said changing the subject. He nodded and pulled me in for a side hug as we walked. He knew that was enough. But he told me what he wanted me to hear. "We'll get there. I promise." he said kissing my head.

We've been walking again for a while. And Carl stopped. I didn't notice that he did but i kept walking. I had too much on my mind. "Aaliyah, stop." Carl said. I turned around to see him looking up at me with a smile. I walked back to him and he pulled out some roller skates. "Please tell me you know how to use these.." He said smiling. I nodded a bit. "Yeah," i said. He smiled and sat down.

"You can't be serious." I said as he started untying his show laces. "I am. And it'll be fun. Cmon." He said looking at me. I kept looking at him. "Please..? Cmon babe." he said looking at me. He held out his hand. "Cmon." he said again. I held his hand and I sat down. We put them on and we headed through the road.

I smiled looking down and Carl looked over to me, smiling too. The first time he's seen be genuinely smile since Negan. I looked at him and he smile too but he almost fell over a bit i laughed stopping myself. He laughed too. "oh- shit-" he laughed and i grabbed his arm. He grabbed on too. "You okay?" i giggled looking at him. He nodded looking at him. "Yeah. Cmon." He laughed and held my hand. We kept going, on our way to the Hilltop.

He kept me distracted from everything going on. Even if it's just for a second, It made a difference. We took off the roller blades and put our shoes back on, We walked but we saw trucks. We went through the woods and walked up, sneaking so they wouldn't see us. It was Negan and his crew. I recognized one of the men there, Simon. Carl put his hand on his knife.

"I don't think Negan's here. I don't see that black truck." He said looking at at the men and the trucks. They were loading things up, they came to collect. I looked at him confused. "Did you even come with me to keep me safe?" I asked looking at him. He looked at me. "I did." He said looking at me. I can see that he was lying. I shook my head. "no you didn't," I said softly.

"I can't let him get away with this. You know i can't." he said looking at me, turning to face me. "But i did come with you to keep you safe. Why would you think i wouldn't.?" He asked furrowing his eyebrows a bit. I just looked at him. "Come with me." he said shaking his head. "Carl." i said. "You want to kill them too. I know you do." he said looking at me and holding my hands.

"I have to see Maggie. And Glenn." I said looking at him. "We can do it." He said trying to talk me into doing it. "Carl- okay." i said pulling away from him. I looked at him. "What if you do it. Huh? You kill him then what? They will not let you leave. They won't stop until you're dead." I said looking at him.

I shook my head looking at him and got in closer to him. I put my hand son his cheeks. "I can't lose you too." I said with tears in my eyes. He took my hands and pulled them away from my face. He held them properly and rested his forehead on mine. "It wont matter if i don't get out." He said softly. "Yes it would.." I said closing my eyes. He did the same.

"Hey," he said making me look at him and i opened my eyes, keeping his fingers under my chin. He kissed me and moved his hand to my cheek. I kissed him and he pulled away looking at me. I looked at him. "Don't do this. Please. Don't do anything stupid Carl." I said looking at him.

He shook his head. "You go when they leave. I'm just gonna go home." He said. I shook my head. "You're lying- just stay with me." I said looking at him. "You didn't even want me coming in the first place." He said looking at me. I stayed quiet. "I got you here. You're safe. That's all that matters alright.?" he said. I kept looking at him.

"You're not going home." I said shaking my head. "Come back." He said kissing me again. "Don't go." I said looking at him. "Okay." he said. I kept looking at him. "Go, Just be careful.." he said looking at me.
