~Daryl's Pov~

I was with her in the room. Still processing. She's alive. "You're going to get through this. I know you are, you're strong okay? open your eyes princess." I said quietly. I want her to open her eyes. I'm next to her on the bed holding her hands, she feels so cold. I can't believe that she's okay.. After all this time, She was alone. Merle and I thought we lost her. She's alive and I'm glad they found her..

"I'll go get the girl..." Rick said as he went out the door. I hesitated for a moment before letting her hand go. I followed Rick and saw a girl with short brown hair. "Maggie, this is Daryl, the girl's brother" Rick said to the woman. "Do you know her blood type? My dad can't do anything until he know her blood type" Maggie said looking at me. 

"I can't remember right now but i'm a universal donor I can give Ashley some of my blood" I told him and he nodded we were in the kitchen talking when i heard screams. "Dad, Daryl!" I heard someone screaming from the room, We ran to the room and saw Ashley awake sweating and screaming.

"Dad she needs blood" The blond girl said. Ashley was crying something that i don't like to see. "Hold her down" Hershel said. "Daryl!" She screamed "I'm here it's okay Princess, You have to be strong okay." She screamed as Hershel took a bullet fragment out. Shane and Rick were holding her down.

"She needs blood now!" He said I bit my lip angrily as the woman was trying to find a vain. Did she know what she was doing? I'm letting a woman near me with a damn needle. "Do it now!" Rick yelled she needed blood fast. Some seconds later the room got quiet, no more screams, no more cries. Just quiet. I stared at her. Her eyes were closed again.

"Wait wait. What happened" Shane asked Hershel. "She just passed out." The man said. I saw the small bullet fragment being pulled out from her stomach, his hands bloody. "One down *Clink* Five to go." He said.

~Some time later~

Hershel was taking Ashley's blood pressure and the women was finishing patching up my arm from another blood transfusion. "Beautiful Girl" Hershel said to me he finished taking her pressure. We went outside where Maggie and Otis were. Carl I'm guessing was taking a nap, "She's stable for now" Maggie told Rick. We heard the door open.

"She's out of danger for the moment, but i need to remove those remaining fragments" I cut him off "How, You saw how she was." i said to him. "I know, and that was the shallowest one, I need to go deeper to get the others, Her pressure is very low which means there's internal bleeding, the fragments must have ripped one of the blood vessels, i have to open her up, and stitch it, and she can't move while I'm doing this, i mean at all, if she reacts the same as before. I'll cut an artery and she'll be dead in minutes, To even try this I'm going to have to put her under, but if i do, she won't be able to breath on her own, same bad results" he said. I just got her back i don't want to lose her again.

"What will it take" Rick asked him but Otis cut in. "You'll need a respirator" he said. "A tube that goes with it, Extra surgical supplies" Hershel asked Otis. Where would they even get those things? "And if you have all that you can save 'er" I asked Hershel

"If i had all that i could try" he said "The nearest hospital went up in flames a month ago" Otis said "The High school" he said after a moment. "That's what i was thinking" Hershel said. "The place was overrun last time i went, maybe it's better now?" Shane cut in "Doc why don't you draw me a map and the things we need to save her I'll go" Shane said.

"You won't need a map. I'll take you" Otis said "Otis, No" The lady said "Honey we don't have for this. I'm responsible for this girl." Otis said. 'Damn right you are.' I thought to myself pissed at this man. "Are you sure about this" Rick asked. "You don't even know what the stuff he's talking about looks like." Otis said. "Thank Ya" I said to them and went back with Ashley.

~A Few Hours later~

I just gave Ashley another blood Transfusion, I got up and felt so light headed immediately. "Slow Brother" Rick said to me. "How much blood have you given her Daryl?" Carl asked me "Only two little bud" A few hours have passed and it's night time, Shane and Otis still aren't back yet I'm getting really worried, Hershel is taking her blood pressure again. But this time he had a worried expression on his face.

"What, whats wrong?!" I asked. "Her pressure is dropping again it's really low. We can't wait much longer." He said looking at me. "Take as much blood as you need then I'm going" I said getting up but Rick blocked the doorway. "You can't go brother she needs you right now more than ever." Rick said. "Listen to him. You've given too much blood, you can't even make it across the yard" Hershel told me. "Fine." I said and told everyone to leave me alone and i was waiting. Holding her cold hand. "I wish i could take your Pain away Princess" I said and kissed her hand.

Ashley brought out a side of me that no one saw.. She's my soft spot and I'll do anything to keep her safe and away from pain.
