~Ashley's Pov~

Daryl left. "No! Daryl!" I called out. Maggie pulled me back before i can take a step out of Alexandria. "Maggie please. Please" I pleaded as i started to cry. I sunk down. Maggie coming down with me. Holding me back. "Maggie h-he's the only family i have left. Please Maggie" I said to her. She held me. She wasn't gonna let me go. "Please let me go" I said, Sasha and Abraham bent down.

"Listen. He'll be back. You're strong darling. I know you are. I've seen ya out there"
Abraham started. "Be strong for him. He'll come back" Sasha said. "What if he doesn't?" I asked as tears streamed down my face. I shook my head. I stood up and walked away as i wiped my tears. Rick came over and i didn't notice. "Ashley" He said. I shook my head.'No'

He stopped me. "Ashley we'll find him. Hey look at me" He said placing his hand on my shoulder. "You don't know that Rick" I said looking at him as a tear ran down my cheek. "We'll find him.." He said pulling me in for a hug. This was probably the first time Rick has hugged me.

~Carl's Pov~

held Ashley as she cried. We were back at my 'house' we were sitting on the couch. "He's gonna get himself killed out there" She cried. I shook my head. I heard that Carol left and Daryl went to go look for her. Michonne, Glenn and Rosita went after Daryl. My dad and Morgan went after all of them. "Stop talking like that" I said. "Carl he's the only family i have left. i can't lose him..." She whispered crying. I hugged her tighter. "He'll be okay Ashley..." I said making small circles with my thumb on her back. "Rest... You need it" I said sadly. I hate seeing her like this. Crying. Sad. I hated it. May be one of the things i hate the most.

She shook her head. 'No'. She buried her face on my chest. "..I'll be here when you wake up okay? Rest" I said as i placed a kiss on her temple.

~Glenn's Pov~

We found Daryl. "Daryl. We need to get back there and figure this out from home. Our home. We need you. Your sister needs you. We all need you. It's gonna go wrong out here. Let's go back home." I said. He shook his head. 'No'.

"I can't." He said. "Daryl-" He cut me off. "Man, I cant!" He said and walked away. "What about Ashley? They held her back from going after you." I said. He stopped walking. "She'll understand." He said walking again. I followed him. "Daryl, You're her only family left. She's going to break if she loses you." I said.

He looked at me. "She has you and Maggie." He said. "We're not her blood. You are." I said trying to get him to stop walking. "Daryl come back man. She needs you by her side." I said. "I can't go back." He said. "What am i supposed to tell her if you don't come back? She'll hate herself for not going after you." I said louder. "Don't tell her nothin' She'll understand." He said turning away.

~Next Day~ Carl's Pov~

Something was wrong with Maggie's baby. Ashley said she was doing better but i don't believe her. Enid wanted to come, She kept on bugging me. "Look i said no okay." I said opening the door. "Glenn's still not back. I need to be there for Maggie." She said. I packed guns and ammo in a bag. "I said no. Ashley's got Maggie." I said. "Look. You were wrong before. This place isn't too big to protect. And you need to stay back to protect it." I said as i continued to collect guns and ammo.

"Most of us are trained. you know that. If you were worried about an attack you wouldn't be leaving." She said. I looked back at her. "You know how fall the hilltop is? You know what could happen? The saviors are out there. You know what they did to Denise, What they tried to do with Maggie and Carol. To Rosita, To Daryl, To Eugene." I said.

She looked at me. "Yet you let her go. For all you know this could be her last day." She said. "It's not. She knows how to take care of herself." I said getting mad at the fact that she brought up Ashley.

~Ashley's Pov~

We finally took off.. I was in the back with Maggie. We were taking her to the hilltop. "Don't cry" I said as i wiped the tear that fell from her eye. She smiled sadly. "How are you doing?" She asked sadly. Changing the subject. "I'm fine... Worried about you and the rest.." I said looking at her. She held my hand. "Do you want some water?" I asked her. She nodded. "Please" She said. I stood up and grabbed my bag.

I got my water bottle and gave her some water, "Thank You" She said, I nodded "Rest, You need it for when we get there" I whispered. She smiled sadly and nodded. Suddenly we came to a stop. I looked over. "ashley cmon" Aaron said. "We'll be back" I said to her and placed a kiss on her head. She nodded. Carl was waiting for me.

We all pulled out our guns and walked out. Carl by my side. There was a group of men and a man on the floor. Half beaten to death. "He was someone with a group of someones who didn't listen." The man said. I looked at the man on the floor then back at the man. "We can make a deal right here. Right now" Rick said holding up his gun. "You're right we can... Give us all your stuff." The man said looking at Rick. He didn't say anything.

"Were probably gonna have to kill one of you.. That's just the way it is. But then we can start moving forward on business. All you have to do is listen." The man said. We were not giving up anything right now. We need to take Maggie to the Hilltop fast.... I don't want to lose her. Rick lowered his gun. "Yeah... That deals not gonna work for us... Fact is, I was about to ask you for all of your stuff only I'm thinking I don't have to kill any of you. Any more of you." Rick said

Another man started shaking a can and walking toward the twitching man on the floor. He started spraying the man. I furrowed my eyebrows a bit. This group of men are saviours.... From Negan's group... "Sorry, My deal is the only deal. We don't negotiate." The man said. Rick gestured us to get back to he RV. "Me and my people are leaving." Rick said. We all started making our way back to the RV.

"Okay friend... There's plenty of ways to get to where you're going.." The man said. I've heard enough i went over to the back again with Maggie. Aaron was there. I let them be alone. I sat down on the benches and looked outside to see a walker in the field. I sighed quietly and rested my head on the window looking at the walker make its way to us slowly.

Everything around me faded. What if Daryl is dead... What if the rest are dead? Daryl is the only family i have left. Merle is gone, He's been gone but there hasn't been a day that i haven't thought about him... I need my brother with me. My brothers.

~Carl's Pov~

We started moving again. I saw Ashley resting her head on the window with tears in her eyes. "Ashley" I said. She didn't look over. "Ashley?" I asked. Aaron looked over to Ashley. I sat down next to her. That's when she blinked a few times and she wiped her eyes. She looked over to me. "What?" she asked. "You okay..?" I asked. She nodded. "Yeah.... I'm okay" She said looking at me. We leaned back as we made our way to the Hilltop.

Ashley rested her head on my shoulder. I looked over to see her closing her eyes. I reached out and held her hand. She opened her eyes and looked down to our hands and closed her eyes again, She missed Daryl, I know she does but she just won't show it. I know her too well. She's hurting but she won't show it.
