34- POST WAR RECESSION 1971

Kashem said "Guys, go to the freezer! I'll be back"

"If you can't?" asked Rahat.

"Go to Nitra" said Kashem.

Kashem left the kitchen. Rahat, Chikku and Gyankosh walked into the freezer but suddenly, a mysterious figure at the back trembled the teen trio with fear. It froze the whole room such that the smell of rotten meat with the sheer of consequences. Their bodies shivered till they looked back-it was Salaam!

"Can't you kids keep quiet?" whispered Salaam with a bit of grunt.

The trio calmed down.

"I've been looking for this freezer since the few days and following you guys since you are coming out of Nitra's house!" added Salam.

"Dad, shall we begin?" said Rahat.

All of them searched the whole of the spooky kitchen. Suddenly they only saw blood but the dead body vanished. It scared all of them to death. Avoiding the situation, they stumbled through the freezer at the corner and opened the door. Salaam switched on the torchlight but what they saw, was an unexpected invitation of horror.

Dead bodies were wrapped in the plastic paper. Rotten smell of it was a lot worse but the clothes seemed familiar to Salaam, Rahat, Gyankosh and Chikku. Chikku wept when he saw a school shirt which was ironed and kept in the silver tray. It was one of his school friends who disappeared after buying some chocolates from the grocery. He was also a part of the squad with Chikku, Gyankosh and Rahat. But tears controlled due to the puzzle-solving ethics that might make an impact on people.

Meanwhile, Kashem slain the security guards at the back. It was an exhausting experience, because he looked at the portraits of the controversial tyrants, while walking through the claustrophobic corridors of the bungalow. He wrapped the katana with his old-blood filled mummifying bandage. Crouching through the ladies room, he saw only Jhilmil, wept in such a way that she will be losing a friend. It was so hard though.

"Hey!" said Kashem.

Jhilmil looked at him, petrified and numbed. She didn't scream, as once Kashem saved her from Madame Ruby's clutches. At the same time, she was pleasant and such that she found a knight in the shining armor, which can't last longer. His charming wink just reminded her of the time he saved her from 'disappearing', which holds the thrill to the viewers like us. Shall we grab a pop-corn?

Madame Ruby and Nitra were drinking tea.

"Adrita?" said Nitra.

"She's on her way" replied Madame Ruby.

Adrita walked behind Ruby's servant and she was scared but calmed as she saw Dr. Nitra. When she came down from the staircase, Nitra got up from the sofa with her mouth wide open. In that sense, she loved her calm presence. She wore a sari like a queen from the Mughal period. She was fading her sexual nature because of reality's horrendous nature.

Before Nitra was about to have a word with Adrita, Kashem and Jhilmil just came out which shocked Madame Ruby. But her expression changed from shocked to a sinister smile. Situation was quite rushed but there might be no other choice but action might lead into suspension.

"Kashem! It's been a long time" said Madame Ruby.

"Madame Ruby! I think I need a word with you" replied Kashem.

"Have a seat" said Madame Ruby.

"None of your tricks will work with me!"

"Did I trick you? Probably not! And please, I would prefer you to be less chaotic"

On the contrary, Kashem jumped from the stairs and pushed Madame Ruby on her chest. Plus with a lot of defensive fight, with karate and action, it was realized that psychopaths such as Madame Ruby won't never change upon her motives. She fell down similar to a kosher meat. He twisted her arm and put the katana on her jaw softly.

"I am sorry to be disrespectful, but"

"But what?" grunted Madame Ruby.

"Can you tell me, who is the butcher?"

"I...I don't know, I thought it was imported from Germany!" said Madame Ruby softly.

"I know the meat well! It's human! Can't you check your freezer?"

It shocked Madame Ruby to bereavement. Suddenly the police rushed into the scene and grabbed Kashem to prison, while he was staggering at the katana. Nitra was shocked to hear about the news and walked through the prison.

After a while, Kashem was behind the bars of the prison and Nitra was sitting beside it, looking at him. But Kashem showed no signs of remorse and it surely made Nitra suspect of his plans that actually made the kids in danger. Little she did knew that the kids were safe with Salaam. Suddenly Chandrima arrived.

"NITRA!" sighed Chandrima.

"What's wrong?" said Nitra.

"No sign of Selim! My father's holding a meeting against Madame Ruby! Don't know where this one would go"

"Where are the kids?"

"They're at Salam's house to set evidence against her in the court"

Suddenly, Kashem grunted behind bars as the sweat was coming out of his mouth. He asked the police for water, which he refused to give and had beaten him up. It was to the core that she got worried by it.

"STOP IT!" screamed Nitra.

She gently shoved the constable and gave him the bottle of iced water. He gulped and felt relieved.

"Nitra and Chandrima, see you at court. I know someone is the true face of all the disappearance along with Jamshed's murder! This crap had been into the continuous rage. Even Ruby bribed the authorities to hide those crimes! So you guys start the investigation and find the evidence, so we could solve the missing puzzle" grunted Kashem.

They agreed.

It was afternoon. Angry mobs were waiting for Kashem's court verdict, while the police were targeting the tribes who were about to attack the camp. Salaam, Rahat, Chikku and Gyankosh went to the orphanage where they met the Russian fishing lady and went to the graveyard. Now that the court started, most of the 'paid' witnesses and those who were against him were blaming. The lawyers were predicting continuously.

It was continuously demotivating Kashem, but he has other plans for preventing to get hanged on the gallows. It was a long court session for his death sentence, but the only evidence was against his outlaw-ish motives and attempt to kill, nothing more. The witnesses were Jahirul who kicked Kashem out of the job, because, not only he had a foreign degree, but also a freedom fighter by certificate.

"Here say, Mr. Kashem is declared-hanged!"

Until, the court doors crashed. Woods were falling down. Nitra along with Salam and the trio, Chandrima, Krishnandu and the tribes stepped into the court. The people were shocked at their dangerous presence, which most of the mob against Madame Ruby sighed with relief and joy. Posters of Madame Ruby as a politician, as she was voted for the minister were also burnt.

"KASHEM IS INNOCENT!" cried Nitra.

"Dr. Nitra, what were you doing?" asked the judge.

Nitra brought out two people that everyone wasn't expecting, especially Jahirul and the duo. It was pretty contrasting to the original timeline. Everything will be unfold. Hiding the truth may seem like hiding faults under the carpet, but it will somehow come out, as the situation get somewhat of a 'book of an immature adult'.

It was Adrita and Jhilmil, dragged with handcuffs! It made Kashem's life more devastating than ever, as Jawad's version of the timeline has been altered because of his own plans.

Adrita reveals:

"When Madame Ruby just looked at the houses empty and Jhilmil and I were along with her, everyone was at the court. A black hooded lady arrived at the scene, the police entered by crashing the door and said "You are under arrest!"

"Do you have any evidence?" asked Madame Ruby.

"I have the evidence" said the black hooded woman, who unveiled to be Chandrima. Jhilmil and I trembled with fear which becomes the truest horror. It was more, if heart becomes hollow. Nitra arrived at the scene, which Madame Ruby was petrified and ran. The police went through the kitchen and Nitra and Chandrima chased her through the corridors, to behind the graveyard. Chandrima and Nitra took out their swords, while Madame Ruby took a wooden stick with a sword-like thorn. They had a long duel.

The police looked at the freezer, and even one of them wept due to people treating them as meat than what it was. After the post-mortem by one of the doctors, even before giving them the DNA of Madame Ruby but also some kind of a John Doe's footprint showed something that was impossible.

After Madame Ruby surrendered, the police found her guilty. She snatched the katana from Nitra and stabbed herself. Her last words were "burn the house!" It petrified the police and us too. The whole graveyard spilled by blood, with certain rain of tears by us, not because of Ruby but my children died in this grave.

Nitra took the kerosene from the kitchen while the police were away. Chandrima and Nitra plus we lighten up the fire with the matchsticks. As the house was quite isolated from the area, it became easier towards us but...something else might be arriving

Before that happened, she was a graduate from a prestigious university but, after the war, she was corrupted by the rich glamor of the world. She chose the corruption due to the death of her own children. Hence, she bought us from one of her men, none other than Madame Ruby's chef. Since she bought the house, she imported drugs to influence the youths from the universities to schools, especially, the case of Azad's.

Plus, influencing minister for the aggressive amount of sex services, which weren't the best for mental health. I secretly asked Dr. Nitra for recommending me a psychiatrist, because I had blackouts and even people I haven't met called me some other name. Hence, I showed you the report that due to the trauma, I am suffering from dissociative identity disorder. Our children had been in the graves, now their cries are shredding because of karma. Kashem Bhai is innocent!"

"Your honor! She's lying!" screamed Jahirul.

"I apologize that I am not convinced upon your story, Ms. Adrita" said the judge.

"Why so? Mr. Fancy pants?" said Salaam with sarcasm.

"Mr. Salam-Ul Karim, why are you siding with her?" screamed the judge.

"Your honor, I have another side of the story. The house might have been burnt but look at the photographs of the freezer!" said Salaam.

The judge looked at the Polaroid photographs with an extreme shock but was not convinced. It might be something fishy that the judge was hiding something. Until, a beautiful Russian woman arrived with the curly hair. Salaam looked surprised because, he met her while fishing at the pond behind the orphanage.

"Your honor, I need to be honest! What kind of a judge are you? Change your specs please! I'm Mariya Hekimnova Khurshid from The Washington Post! I've been investigating the laws of Bangladesh since 1967, as the former Republic of East Pakistan. According to Bangladesh's Evidence Act 1872, All the statements which the court permits which were made by the witness relating to the matters of fact is known as Oral Evidence. Furthermore, all documents produced for the inspection of the Court; such documents are called documentary evidence. Both the witnesses have done their part, even if not convinced, you are bribed by clients, as Corruption Act 1947 Whoever commits the crime of bribery shall be punished by imprisonment of either kind for a term that may not exceed one year, a fine, or both. Henceforth, I don't want any damages with the foreign relations due to the misuse of power and law of your country.

This anarchic system of the country made my classmate, Kashem who studied in the University of Texas in Austin, into a terrifying monster! He was a human being. As I know him personally he wasn't that of a roadside punk! He was just a man struck in poetry and love, had so many friends over there! But for his fiancé, he left The United States, just to marry her and serve for the country.

I read his letter and burst into tears of what the country had done to him! A FUCKING CRIMINAL! A patriot turned a war criminal due to the recession that had actually affected his love for the country and had this beauty towards it! Please, by God! Please, your honor, take back your death sentence! I beseech you! Take back your honor!"

Still not convinced by the judge as well as the strong opposition lawyers, as Kashem didn't have one. He said "wait for the president's order".

That corrupt system enraged the public, as well as the ethnics that they aggressively burst into the court and crashed the chair. While Nitra, Chikku, Gyankosh, Rahat and Salaam took Kashem out of the criminal box and took him away. Until, he got out of the court and hit by someone.
