Chapter 18: we got rid of the old title
Hollow's pov
My room was very simple, but it was mine, and I was very glad. They did not need to give me a room, or even a bed! All I asked for was a light bulb. I quite like them. They are round, and when you screw them into certain things, they actually light up! They are very neat, that they are. I hope they give me one sometime, but I will not ask again. That would be quite rude, very much so.
"There's your fucking bed, your fucking desk, the fucking chair that goes to the fucking desk, your fucking lamp that sits on the desk, your fucking dresser, your fucking carpet, and there's even fucking blankets on your fucking bed." Hidan sounded very exasperated. I know I am troubling him. I can hear it in his voice. I do not want to trouble him, not at all. I hope he is not too terribly upset about being put in charge of me.
"S-Sorry." I apologized for good measure. He looked down at me, his eyebrows raising. I do not understand how he is so tall, and I am so not-tall. The top of my head comes up to his chest, if even that. It is sort of hard to tell. I do not want to be not-tall, but I do not have access to mass amounts of cow's milk. Cow's milk helps people grow, or so I have heard. And I need to grow. I cannot stay this small forever. I will be a burden this way.
"Why the fuck are you apologizing? Were you the one who murdered my dog last week?" Hidan questioned accusingly. My eyes widened, filling with panic.
"Y-You have a dog?" I squeaked, unsure of how else to response. Hidan shrugged vaguely.
"No, but your reaction was funny as hell." He grinned at me, and I simply nodded. If he can derive joy off my frantic demeanor, then I will not stop him. I cannot do anything to repay his kindness, even if I really, really want to!
"Ignore him, Hollow." Rin drifted into the room. "This room could use some decor, but we'll take care of that. You have a lot of influence here, mostly because of Yahiko. They want you to be comfortable. So they can use you." Rin coughed slightly. "But we won't let them do that. You're free to make your own choices."
I was a tad bit confused, but I nodded anyway.
"So, I'm supposed to camp out on your damn floor and make sure you don't die in your sleep or some shit. So... I don't know, I guess Konan will bring you some damn pajamas and you'll go to bed and I'll sleep on your fucking carpet." Hidan shrugged, continuing. "Apparently you're supposed to bring world peace. I don't see how a measly little brat like you could ever do that. I mean, look at you! You're a fucking joke, no offense. You weight like, forty pounds, and don't know what the fuck chakra is. It's pathetic." I flinched slightly. "Whatever. Your damn training starts tomorrow. We'll see how the fuck you do in that department."
"Ignore him, Hollow. He's a hoe who doesn't know his face from his own ass." Shisui scoffed. Rin and Shisui were the only ghosts with me right now, the rest patrolling for Obito. He is a very scary man, and I think he means me harm. I do not want to be harmed. My feet already ache quite badly, which is not fun.
The door opened before I could respond to Shisui, and Konan appeared. She didn't say a word, setting a stack of clothes softly on my dresser before leaving promptly. Hidan and I stared at the door for a while after she had gone. We were both rather slow in processing things, but I think that is why we are not enemies. I think we could be friends, sometime, in the future. I've never really had friends. I suppose Rin and Shisui are my friends.
"Change, kid." I flinched when Hidan stood and tossed the clothes my way, barely catching the stack. "Don't worry, I'm not like Tobi. I'll turn my ass around."
I blinked at him slow. I looked down at the clothes and smiled. Maybe things would be alright.
