Great. My life is just...great. Me and Sky, stuck in the underground chasm, ties up to some mechanism that will vaporize us. Great. My name is Mualani and I am currently a part of the People of the Springs tribe in Natlan. I have participated in the Night Warden Wars three times without ever having to be resurrected.

So how exactly did we end up being tied up in the underground chasm? Let me start from the beginning.

It all started whenever me and Sky got the message that the hunger games were starting in the first place. We ran from Lisa and then somehow ended up in the underground chasm. We discovered that the people were running the hunger games from the underground chasm and we tried to find a way to shut it down.

That didn't go so well.

As you can probably predict, that's how we ended up here.

"You're awfully quiet, Mualani. I hope that you're thinking o-" Sky started but I cut her off.

"Well yeah of course I'm awfully quiet, we're stuck here, what's there left to say?" I snapped at her.

Sky clears her throat and sighs before continuing.

"I was going to say, I hope that you're thinking of a way to get us out of here...before we're vaporized?"

"Oh."

I should have been thinking of a way to get us out of here. All of a sudden some abyss mages come in followed by the Abyss Herald.

"Ready to die?"

I wanted to answer no but I decided to keep my mouth shut. Well, that's too bad that Sky didn't.

"No." Sky says.

"Well that's too bad because you are." The Abyss Herald says.

It was at that moment I realized that I had a shark.

"Well then you're going to have to catch us first." I say before summoning my shark.

The shark bites the ropes tying us off and I get on and start to ride when I realize that Sky is not with me. I turn around and see that Sky is still sitting there looking confused.

"SKY!" I call out while riding toward her with my hand outstretched.

When I reached her she grabbed it and we rode away from the device. We didn't realize that the Abyss Herald was chasing behind us. He attacked us and I went flying off my shark and blacked out.

Several moments later I wake up and I see that Sky is not with me.

"SKY?!?!" I scream out as loud as I can.

No response.

I realized that I have to continue on my own.

I went further into the cave and found a place that had a little ramp stretching into the unknown. I go to the edge of the platform and look down. The hold is so deep that I can't see the bottom.

I sigh.

I've been wanting to do this for a long time now. I'm just about to jump when I feel a hand on my shoulder. When I turn around I see Sky.

"I know what you're thinking...and all I'm gonna say is me too." Sky says to me.

We look down at the inky blackness. We know exactly what we're gonna do. There won't be turning back. We take a deep breath, grab each other's hand.

We jump.
