Chapter One Hundred and Twenty-Eight Robert

Chapter One Hundred and Twenty-Eight
Robert

Robert joined the shocked group as if something had changed during his brief absence; like a rain shower in the middle of summer. He waited in silence for Anna and Martin to start their conversation.
Anna broke the silence and said softly, "You didn't know about this before?"
"It's obvious I told you myself that you could kill me. Of course, you can still do it."
"I can't do this with you anymore; not at all."
   "You can still do it."
"Why would you want such a thing from me at this time? Do you want me to cry!"
   "Do you hate me?"
"Not anymore; why do you consider yourself guilty when you're not?"
   "Maybe because I'm crazy."
"It's these family emotional and mental turbulences; I have depression too."
Robert looked at Anna in surprise and said, "I don't understand what you're talking about."
Martin said, "But depression is very different from madness."
"Never talk to me about madness again."
Robert sighed and said, "You easily forgave this man despite the hatred you had. I'm glad, Anna."
Anna said, "He's not to blame in this story because he's my father." It seemed they had just noticed Robert's presence.
Robert looked at Anna with great surprise and said, "I can't believe it; are you sure?"
Anna nodded her head in confirmation.
Robert said, "Then what about those graves? Who made up that story? Who wanted Mr. Holland to be the killer of your family and not your father?" At that moment, he noticed the gun in Anna's father's hand.
Anna, not knowing the answer to this question, stared questioningly at her father.
Martin said, "I still don't know; this story is very complicated."
Anna said softly, "Maybe Mrs. Collins knows." Then she stood up and said to Robert, "You go with my father and ask Mrs. Collins."
Martin stood up and said, "Isn't it too early to call him father? I have a lot to tell you; don't go now, you don't know much of the story yet, maybe you'll change your mind."
Anna said, "All the words I'm supposed to hear are about my family and my father, not a psychotic killer who took my family from me and ruined my life; so my opinion won't change, I promise." Then she said to Robert, "I'm taking your car, I need to go somewhere."
Robert said, "Where? Why?"
"I need to see someone and change their mind."
   "Take care of yourself."
Anna quickly left the room.
Martin, who was checking his phone, said loudly, "Steve has asked me to come to the party tonight to get to know his family better!"
   "My father?!"
