Chapter Ninety-Six Josh Collins

Chapter Ninety-Six
Josh Collins

Mr. Collins and his wife were watching the news on TV when Josh said softly, "I have to go see Amy."
Christine said with anger and sadness, "Why is it important to see that woman now?"
"Why are you so angry? Amy was your friend, why are you talking like this?"
"Answer me, why do you want to see her after all these years?"
   "Why are you so angry?"
   "Amy came here."
Josh looked a bit confused; he said, "Here means our house?!" Then he stared at an unknown point in front of him.
Christine turned Josh's face towards her and while looking at him; she said, "Of course I meant the house! Why were you surprised?"
Mr. Collins pushed his wife's hand away and without looking at Christine's face; he said to an unknown point, "What did she want?"
"She wanted Martin's address. I didn't give it to her and kicked her out of here."
Mr. Collins said softly and spellbound, "I need to rest, I'm very tired." Then he got up from his seat with difficulty and went to the bedroom. When he closed the door behind him and leaned his head against the door; he closed his eyes and after a few moments he opened his eyes, went to a bookcase in the corner of the room and pulled out a book with a red and black cover and took a few envelopes out of it and then closed the book and went to the table and put the book on the table and then took a lighter from the table and lit it under the envelopes; he tilted the envelopes to burn them completely and when everything was burned he threw what was left of them in the trash can and then sighed and said, "I should have gotten rid of these letters sooner, but I really forgot they existed." Then he lay down on the bed and while staring at the ceiling; he said to himself, "I have to go see my brother."
