Chapter 30
"If I allow you to go out, will you finally get a haircut?" mom pleads.
It's Sunday morning, and no, rain is not falling. It's actually quite sunny. Anyway, since it's Sunday, I wanted to attend service for the first time in a couple of months to testify the news I've heard on Thursday night. I asked mom if I could go out and she said yes if I got a haircut. My hair's not THAT long, though but eh, anything to attend service again.
After I agreed, I bathed and got ready. Service is at 1 pm and I left the house at 11 pm. I took a jeepney to the barber shop I always go to in front of the city plaza.
The haircut process only took 10 minutes max. I paid for the fee and gave the barber a tip before going out and taking a jeepney to school.
Our church is so young that we usually have services in the alumni house of our school. The church doesn't have a building of its own yet but we are all praying for that to happen sooner.
Once I arrived, I helped out in assembling the chairs and putting the tithe packets on each one. Afterwards, I went to join the worship team practice. Even though I'm not scheduled to sing this Sunday, they insisted that I join their worship session.
After practicing, I helped out ushering people to their seats and handing them the attendance log book for them to sign it. It felt amazing to have helped out in church like I used to before I got persecuted. I miss the church and everyone in it.
In the middle of fixing my stuff, Pastor Jane gave me a gentle tap on the shoulder from behind. Upon seeing her, I gave her a hug which she returned. "Come with me for a sec." she said as she reached for my hand.
We went to a place where we could be in silence since the guitarists and the pianist of the worship team are tuning up.
"I have something to tell you. On Thursday night, I was having dinner then I heard the news say something about five planets aligning." She said.
I was surprised that she found out about the news as well. "I heard it, too!" I said. She replied with a smile before saying, "You need to testify that, Gray. It will be a warning sign to everyone that they should change for the Lord is coming real soon. The news being nearly parallel to your first dream is a sign that we are really in the end times."
I nodded and she smiled. We went back in time for the service to start.
"Good afternoon, brethren! Before we start our service, let us hear some testimonies from you! Who wants to go first?" the emcee started.
I stood up and ran to the front. The emcee gave me the mic and I faced the crowd. Normally, I would get scared and nervous but now, it feels like I've been doing this for a long time. It's like I've never been persecuted!
"A blessed afternoon to all. Umm. So, some of you may have remembered when I first testified that I had a dream about rapture and that includes me seeing seven planets align. One night, I saw the news that five planets have already aligned. To others it may seem like an interesting phenomenon but the news struck me as a warning. A warning that the end times are here and Jesus is really coming soon. We don't know when seven planets might align so I encourage you now to draw more people to God while we still have time. We have to harvest as many crops as we could. That would be all. To God be the glory."
As I concluded and passed the microphone, they applauded. I sat down and listened to the other testimonies.
The service went on and before we knew it, it was celebration. The celebration comes after ministering so of course, there would be tears. I wiped mine and started to clap along to the tune of the song.
I am free to run (I am free to run)
I am free to dance (I am free to dance)
I know this song! When I Am Free plays, we literally run and dance when the worship leaders sing the lyrics.
The song builds up to the chorus and all of us prepare to run around the venue. We put the chairs away to clear a path for all of us.
I am free
Yes, I am free
Here we go!
I am free to run
"I am free to run!" I yell as I ran fast around the venue with the others.
I am free to dance
"I am free to dance!" we sing as we stop and dance with our best dance moves. I am a horrible dancer but whenever I dance in the church, I feel somewhat comfortable. Singing is also not my forte, which is something I am also comfortable doing in the church...and in my bedroom of course hahaha.
We ran almost everywhere. We even went up the stairs and danced with the worship team. Not a single face was sad. Smiles lit up the church and it was just a wonderful sight to see. I stopped for a moment to catch my breath. I went to a corner not far from where they were to watch them.
The happiness in the atmosphere was contagious and amazingly enough, it made me energetic once again.
I want everyday to be like this. Worshiping and praising the Lord without being persecuted for doing so. I want everyday of my life to be filled with this kind of happiness. For once, I've felt a whole other kind of happiness that I've never felt for a long time since my persecution.
And that is the happiness that comes from worshiping the Lord out loud again.
======================================
Hello, guys! It's been long since the last update!
Mom took my laptop and this bank chapter was in my documents. I've only touched this laptop today and I intend to make the most of it. I have made drafts of the final chapters and they will be ready to be published when I intend to publish them.
I really can't believe this book is coming to an end. It's not even its anniversary yet. I wish I could make more chapters but this is what I feel is enough for this book. Sorry, if I upset you with this.
Thank you sooooo much for everything! Even though I'm inactive, your support makes the book not fall out of ranking :D
God bless you! :)
