Nothing much went wrong for months. I know, unbelievable right? I mean there were plenty of hiccups. Bear was a naughty bundle of joy. As soon as I got him to stop attacking Mr Miller on sight he switched over to sticking his tongue out and rasp berrying her. I didn't know what Mrs Miller did to piss off a baby but I was secretly very happy whenever he did that.

I could also talk now. Not much but he could say dada. He called Zenya cece and me Mami. Our names must be too hard to pronounce. I think he picked up Mami from listening to Mr Jack call me Madeline. He might not be saying a lot now but I knew he would be speaking a lot more in three years than I do now. He picks up words so fast. It made my job so much easier cause whenever he poops his pants now he says, Bear poop. Twice though he called Mrs. Miller poo poo too but I got him to stop before Mrs. Miller heard him.

Mr Jack was spending a lot more time with bear too. He even took him to work a couple of times. I think he is a lot closer to earning that Best Dad mug.

These days though the whole household was getting ready for the most amazing party this neighborhood has ever seen. Bear's first birthday party.

Mr Jack was going all out. You could see from his face as the day got closer he was feeling a little bit sad since you know it was also the day he lost his girlfriend but to his credit he was doing a great job of putting everything aside and being their for Bear

This wasn't going to be a simple party with a cake. The whole house was turned upside down. Professional party planners were called. The cake alone cost more than my entire salary.

You should have seen the party. I don't know if I could explain to you how incredible it was. The teddy bear themed decor, the white and blue balloons and party favors, the incredible teddy bear cake. I don't think I ever went to a kid's birthday party where servers served adults finger foods and champagne. We were even allowed to ditch the uniform as long as we wore something on theme.

And the guests. You could see from a single look they were rich friends of theirs. I don't think I will ever earn what they spent on clothes in my entire lifetime. One woman even wore a huge Neptunian diamond necklace that covered her entire chest. I couldn't even think of a number of how much that thing cost.

Bear was incredibly handsome in his white shirt and blue pants and his little bow. He talked with all of the guests that came over and he had plenty of things to say. Even if he didn't make much sense. He was also a quarter of my size and very difficult to hold. But to me he would always be my little bear.

Natira said one of the girls had a fallout with the rest of them and broke up. Not that I had much of an opinion of the other two, I was glad she was gone. I was Team Natira through and through.

"I wish if Mr Jack will end up with someone it'll be you" I told her one day. I was telling the truth. She would be an incredible mother to Bear. She was the only one in Mr Jack's harem that seemed to care about Bear anyway.

She of course laughed and me and said thank you. Looking at her now I cod totally see why Mr Jack was so attracted to her.

She looked so exotic in her figure hugging strapless blue dress that came up to her knees. The Colorado seemed to bring out her own pale blue skin color and the incredible white pattern that ran across her skin.

Zenya was beautiful too in her long flowy A-line dress with the split in the side. Her incredible long toned and tanned legs peeked through with every step she took, which made me look at my own short stumps in envy.

I really did look like a potato among these beautiful women all around.

I tried to console myself saying that one four armed green skinned alien looked far worse.

Seeing Mr Jack and Natira and Zenya together with Bear in hand made my heart ache. They really did look like the perfect family. With Bear growing up so fast I wasn't sure how long I will get to be a part of it. I didn't know what I was going to do then. This stopped being just a job long time ago. When it's time for bear to leave he is totally going to leave a bear shaped hole in my heart that no other baby will ever fill.

Not going to lie a very teeny tiny part of me imagined me falling in love with the incredibly rich and handsome single dad when I started this job but I blame all of that on the cheesy free word novels I read. You know what though? I think I found something that is more incredible.

I didn't just raise Bear but I think in a way Bear raised me too. I don't think I could have ever imagined myself being this responsible and holding a job a year ago.

I could feel that my dad and mom were proud of me too.

Oh and Erine and Clara will have their doctor's appointment next week. They took some time to finish off with preparation and moving into a bigger place. I can't wait for them to have a baby of their own.

"Here's to another year of babysitting misadventures"

I turned to find Justin with a glass of champagne on his hand. He was my plus one for the party. And no we aren't together. Yet. But we were pretty close. Justin was pretty stoked to meet Bear finally.

He said he was going to start his own daycare specializing in half alien and alien child care. If anyone could start something like that it'll be Justin. Maybe I could join him one day.

All around me the world was moving on and everyone had things to look forward to.

I was going to enjoy however long I could spend with my little Bear and I too will move on to my own adventure.

I looked at the Obans, my little bear and Justin. I think the next year will be even more exciting. I couldn't wait for tomorrow. Picked up my own glass.
