Chapter 09

Several times passed,
Evening,
Aizawa's house...

Aizawa's POV

As soon as the interrogation ended, Midoriya-san told me to go home first... Since she wanted to spend time with her father for a while.

"Dad pretended to be okay... But I knew deep down how broken his heart when he heard about Mom's death. I want to be there to comfort him and assure him everything will be fine. So I will be spending my time with him. No need to wait for us. You can go home first, Aizawa-san. Also...Thank you for being there for me."

I understood the situation so I decided to return home first, leaving the two Midoriyas to have their personal time and to give them some personal spaces...

But still...

Somehow, I feel uneasy.

My mind kept telling me not to leave them. But my body was against my mind.

I was sitting in my white couch, watching television while enjoying a cup of hot coffee. I was trying to distract myself from thinking too much about Midoriya-san. However, my attempted miserably failed.

No matter how hard I tried not to think of Midoriya-san, her face kept showing up in my mind. It was such a pain, but I didn't want to deny it.

Is this a sign or something? Because I feel... A little concerned about this.

I hope Midoriya-san stay safe.

A couple of hours later,
Nighttime,
On her way back home...

Midoriya's POV

Today is really exhausting...
I'm so tired, emotionally and physically.

Like I thought, Dad just pretended to be okay.

When we went to drink together in a bar nearby, Dad began to display his true emotions. The moment the alcohol kicked in and Dad started to feel drunken, he cried and told me how he felt.

It was a tough time for both of us. We ended up crying our heart out and hugging each other.

After that, I accompanied Dad home. I hope he will be fine by himself...

Heaving a deep sigh, I unmotivatedly descended the long, dark, silent street by myself. I just wanted to be at home as quick as possible and sleep... Well, if I can sleep tonight.

As I was walking, I heard a soft crying, which I assumed was an animal's cry. My track came a halt and I looked around my current surrounding. I was near a public playground that was very dark.

That is where the crying came from.

Maybe stray cat's crying?

Feeling pity toward the crying feline, I began to search around the area for the said cats. I guessed there was more than one cat because the closer I got to the noise, more different voices cried sadly.

When I reached the swing area, my heart clenched with sorrow. There was a big light brown box located beside the swings.

And three kittens were sitting in there beside their mother, calling out for the larger cat. I had frozen in silent shock when I spotted the kittens' mother. She was laying in the box lifelessly, not moving an inch.

God, no...

Is the cat mother... Dead?

One of the kittens nuzzled its head on the big cat's stomach, sad meowing echoed through the night. I was really heartbroken to see this sorrowful sight.

Even these poor kittens lose their mother...

Deciding to help these little felines, I picked up the dead female cat and placed her on the ground. I dug a medium-sized hole before gently putting the cat's body into it.

"Rest in peace. Don't worry about your children. I will take care of them from now on."

I buried the cat's body with the soil back. Walking to the big brown box, I took a look inside. The three kittens were staring at me with their big, glimmering, round eyes confusedly.

"Sorry, little ones... Your mother is sleeping... So I will take care of you." I told the feline trio, my voice trembling slightly.

Seeing these three poor kittens... Remind me of my current situation.

I just lost my mother too today. And they lost their only mother too.

I won't abandon these cuties... I will care for them and shower them with affections.

The kittens began meowing loudly at me. I smiled softly at them and picked up one of the little cats.

They are all beautiful and perfect...

I put back the kitten in the box. I lifted up the big box and carried it back home...

God knew I was saddened Mom's death, that was why He presented these kittens to lighten up my life.

A few minutes later,
Midoriya's house,
Nighttime...

"Here, drink a lot and grow up fast, little ones!"

I giggled gleefully while watching the three adorable felines drinking the fresh milk hungrily. They meowed in respones.

My heart melted at this precious view of these kittens drinking the milk to their heart content. I cupped my cheeks and shook my head in euphoria.

So adorable... SO CUTE!!!

After they finished drinking the milk, I picked up the kitten one by one and set them in the couch. They purred softly while squuezing themselves together to warm their bodies up.

My elbows rested against my knees. I cupped my cheeks and stared at the cute little felines, humming a lullaby under my breath.

Now, it is naming time... Hm...

Yosh! I have decided!

Ranran

Yuki

Now, this one is unique! She has half black, half orange face!

Wait... Half-and-Half....

"Hafu!"

I shouted that name out loud.

"Ranran, Yuki, Hafu. From today onward, you three will live with me!"

I grinned at my new pets— no, family. All of them tilted their heads to the side in unison, and I laughed loudly at this.

I felt so happy right now. I wished this moment would last longer...

... But it was only my
wish...

My phone suddenly buzzed, notifying me that there was a message delivered to me. I picked up my phone and read the text message.

My heart dropped upon reading the message.

....

WHAT DOES HE WANT FROM ME NOW?!

Angrily, I shoved my hand into my pocket. That's it. I'm reaching my limit. I won't hold back anymore!

This guy really needs to learn his lesson!

I put on more comfortable outfit and left my house furiously, heading to the location he told me to go...

....I better solve this problem quick.

Moments passed by,
In an alleyway...

Third Person's POV

The man in black hoodie smirked widely at the young woman slowly walking toward his direction.

"...hello, Izuku. Long time no see you..."

Tomura spoke up in a cheeky tone, attempting to irritate Izuku. She clicked her tongue secretly, but he noticed her anger.

"What do you want from me?"

"Hm... You know what I want, Izuku."

Tomura stepped closer Izuku, standing still before her. His hand moved to caress her soft cheek gently, crimson eyes lit with affection.

"I want you, baby. You are the only one I want..."

"Stop it!"

Izuku slapped his hand away roughly, causing the man to groan. His hand was red due to the harsh slap. He glared at the young woman before him.

"You are the worst! Greedy! Psychopath! What else do you want from me?! You almost ruined my life before! Now you have taken my mother away from me! From my life! What are you still dissatisfied about?!"

Izuku screamed furious at Tomura as tears rolled down her cheeks. She knew all this time. The culprit behind her mother's death. But she never told anyone... Because she was afraid of their opinions and reactions.

The blunette grinned creepily at the crying greenette.

"What I was dissatisfied about...? Well, it is easy!"

All of a sudden, Tomura charged toward Izuku. He strangled her throat with one finger lifted up while his other hand pinned both her wrists above her head.

"I want you to feel the same way I felt back then, IZUKU!"

Izuku struggled to free herself from his iron grip. She began coughing violently.

"You left me to chase after your dream... Your dream to become one of those sick heroes! You betrayed me! You broke my heart! And now...YOU SUFFER HOW I SUFFER BACK THEN!"

Tomura spelt out his hateful thoughts, tightening his grip around her neck. Izuku began hitching, gasping for air.

"Now... Die, bastard."

Tomura's last finger slowly made its way to come in contact with Izuku's neck. She looked up to the starts sky with defeated eyes.

'... Now I'm able to see Mom again...'

Giving up to her fate, Izuku shut her eyes tight. Her body went limp and weak, starting to lose the energy along with the strength.

'... Sorry, Aizawa-san...
Dad... I don't know if I can continue to live...'

... At least that was what she thought.

A stray scarf suddenly tied Tomura's body, restraining him tightly. The man hollered in pain, forcefully letting Izuku go.

Izuku dropped on her knees, coughing violently gasping for air. Her eyes then darted to the person who saved her...

".... Aizawa-san...?"
