******
Yusra blinks her eyes tired from her two hours nap as she pats the other side to feel her husband usual comfort which he is not providing today for some odd reasons.
Her lips turn to pout at her need to find her husband so she can simply have a hug that she craves for. It is simple, as they grew old, they start to find happiness in smaller and simpler actions.
As she moves out of the bed carrying her heavy body towards the door opening it to start her hunt for her husband. It has to be about ten minutes later that she finds him in his usual spot; gym.
Even at this age, he just wouldn't stop his habit of exercising and she has nothing to complain about because, he did look fine, maybe more than that but we don't have to tell him that now do we?
Shaking her head to stop her thoughts, she enters inside while he was busy lifting weight as she wraps her arms around his back, hugging him tightly.
"Why did you leave me alone?". Her voice was muffled because her face was in his back
His body vibrates from a chuckle that makes her smile, "I am sorry, baby. I just thought I won't have much time to do anything when you start to play cupid".
Rami places the weight down turning to his beautiful wife as he places his hand on her cheeks, kissing her forehead. To say that she has grown into a beautiful creation of his life won't be a lie. He cannot believe that one day he will simply find the pleasure of looking at someone and not be bored of it even after years.
She rolls her eyes, "Don't tell me you don't see how they look at each other".
He makes a face, "I would rather not think about our daughter like that. Maybe I will just lock her in her room and everything will be good".
She slaps his shoulder, "Our daughter is a grown adult who needs love in her life".
"I need my wife love too, do you see me complaining?". He asked rolling his eyes as his hand plays with a strand of her hair
"You have your wife love for the past years". She started jabbing her finger in his muscled chest, "Dammit! Why do you have to exercise so much, my finger almost broke".
"Why do you not exercise much?".
"Don't throw words back at me".
"Why not".
"Because I said so".
"I don't have to listen to you".
"Oh, is that right?". She said smirking and to this day he finds his heart-stopping, "Let's see when I give you my famous treatment and how you will feel later".
"But baby". He whined, "We are supposed to play cupid".
"If I start playing cupid with you by my side our daughter might not marry for another 20 years".
"That's the plan". He mumbles watching her step on his feet walking away and he groaned
She walks out of the gym planning what she needs to do tomorrow. She opens her phone dialling a number.
"Hasan". She said over-enthusiastically watching her husband entering as she turns to the other side ignoring him
"Ji, meri ammi Jaan?". Hasan said looking at the pile of work in front of him but he can do that later (yes, my sweet mother)
She giggles as her husband sits on his knees in front of her and she turns her face to the wall, "Amber is coming tomorrow".
Hasan stilled hearing her name, "She is?".
She smirks, "Of course! You have to be here".
Her husband holds her face making her look at him as gulps at how close they are and he is ruining her plan.
"I-I can't come. I have a very important meeting". Hasan said stuttering
"You mean you have work at 8 PM?". She said dryly as her husband moves closer to her kissing her cheeks
"Yeah?". Hasan said anxiously
"You are coming here, no matter what or you can just stay in that office all your life and I won't speak to you ever again". She said ending the call as she glares at her husband knowing her face is tomato red as usual
"You are ruining my plan". She said angrily
"Is it working?".
She groans pushing him away as she walks to the kitchen with him following behind like a lost puppy.
Hasan clenches his hand but his eyes were shut tighter as he tries to take her image out of his head. He can't do this, not this. Amber is their daughter, he can't step over that boundaries. He cannot betray the people who helped him grow like this.
He is not good enough.
The next day she welcomed Amber who looks around excitedly because she hasn't been home after she turned 18 and decided to study abroad.
"It is still the same". Amber said as she feels the warm feeling inside of her and she was glad she lived in this place
Her father wrapped his arms around her kissing her forehead, "Did your flight went well?".
"Baba, you literally sent a private jet, what can go wrong?". She said chuckling as she sits on the couch
"Well, you might not like its colours like your mother or something. I would have it changed accordingly to your preference". Her father said looking at her stepmother lovingly
She gulps visibly because for a very small moment she thought he meant her birth mother and even though she knows her real mother is not her family any more, she can't shake this feeling off.
The feeling of being an extra in this happy family.
Her birth mother crude words stayed with her even after she moved in with them. Being young and abused because her birth mother didn't like her talking and happy with her stepmother did a number on her. She remembers not being able to speak straight for two months until she met Hasan in the orphanage when her parents took her there.
That's when it all started.
She heard the bell ringing and her stepmother forced her to open the door while her father sent a glare at her stepmother which she effectively ignored. She shakes her head with a small smile as she opens the door and her eyes widen.
There he is, the one man she can't do anything about.
"Hasan".
Hasan felt his heart leaping out of his chest and the pain he felt looking in those eyes only reminded him, that he can't be the one for her.
"Amber".
Her name always sounded sweetest to him even when she didn't like her name most of the time because her birth mother gave her that name after a fight with her father.
"I-I-". She knows she is embarrassing herself by now, "Come on in".
He nodded stiffly walking to the lounge, not before her sweet scent that wrapped around him when he moves past her.
She continued to look at him through the way not being able to take her eyes off him. He was a grown man now. When she left, he was still a young boy with those beautiful eyes that held pain and now he is a grown man with the same pain maybe even deeper.
"Hasan is here". She heard her stepmother say excitedly and she chuckles settling beside her father who places his hand over her shoulder rubbing her tense muscles like he knows she is stressed and needs comfort right now
"Thank you for inviting me". Hasan said politely
"You are family, Hasan". Her stepmother said stern
That's what hurt the most. He thoughts
Because if he is their family, he can't be anything more to her even when he desperately wishes to be everything for her.
"Why are they not talking?". Yusra whispers to her husband impatiently
"You might not think you are their elder but we are their elder". Rami whispers to her
"Well, that's boring". Yusra said huffing moving to him, "I would have wanted to make a house where people don't feel intimidated by their elder and look at them for genuine advice and not criticism for no reason".
"We did build that house". Rami said proudly, "However the way I see it, it's their lives that were not easy and holding them back".
"What do I do now?". Yusra said clearly upset and he didn't like it
"How about I do everything and you stay put?". Rami asked and she nodded so he turns to Hasan who looks pale, "So, Hasan, what are you thinking about?".
Hasan gulped, "Just a project".
Her. Hasan thought
"Is it a new one?".
"No, old".
Her. Hasan thought.
"Is it hard?".
"Yes. Very".
Yes, it is hard to not have her in my life. He thoughts
"Are we still talking about the project?" Yusra voice breaks the trance Hasan was in and he blinks at her
"I-I need to leave". Hasan said not wanting this torture anymore
"No. No. I have so much to talk about". Yusra said whining as she looks at Hasan who looks paler
They heard the bell ringing and unfortunately Amber saw her father's side of the non-existing family walking in. Though her father's sister is a good person however their external uncle isn't.
"We heard our daughter is here". Her aunt said looking at Amber and she awkwardly smiles as she finds her cousin's- Waseem eyes on her making her squirming
Her uncle turns towards Hasan glaring at him, "You didn't invite us but you invited outsider here".
Yusra clenched her hand as she snaps, "That should have been a clear message then".
Rami place a comforting hand on his wife knowing how much she hates when someone targets her kids, "Hasan is our family. And he doesn't need any invitations".
Yusra grins at her husband stern words because even if this man is old, he is firm in his words enough to cause anyone to scramble.
"I heard you just got back after your degree is done. Are you going to work in your father's company?". Her aunt asks
"At least pretend that you are not interested in her property and money". Yusra grunted holding her daughter hands knowing she doesn't like to deal with these situations
"Actually". Her uncle spoke, "We wanted to come here as soon as possible to asks for her hand".
"It looks like you are demanding". Rami snapped, "My daughter is not something that you can come in thinking of having and I will be a stupid little man who will let my precious daughter go".
"You didn't have to be so angry". Her aunt injected
"Angry?". Yusra said glaring at the woman, "Your son doesn't earn and all he does is spend money and you think he is worthy of my daughter?".
"Men learn responsibility after they are married". Her uncle said shrugging
"Those are not men". Yusra snapped barely controlling from pouncing on the man, "Those are loser whose parents never taught them to be responsible in their lives and most of those stupid end up destroying precious women".
"She can work and my son can work with her. They can make their decisions". Her aunt said
"No". It wasn't from her family but the man who has been raging inside and she feels her heart skipping a beat
Hasan. It was Hasan rejection.
"Who do you think you are to object?". Waseem said trying to be intimidating but Hasan was far from it
Hasan did learn from the best- Rami.
"I don't have to tell you who I am and what I am to them". Hasan spat angrily, "There is no way she will marry a man who is not worthy of her".
Amber saw Waseem looking scared at the dagger Hasan sent him.
"Is this your decision?". Her aunt said looking at her
She looks down at her hands, she hates that her family fights over her and she doesn't want to be the centre of attention. She was about to speak when his gaze pinned her down and the words die down her throat as she shivers at the ferocity of his eyes at her.
"I will do what my family thinks is best for me". Amber said looking at Hasan who smirks and she shudders, "I will not marry Waseem".
She heard the wailing and other colourful words coming from her uncle's family until her father banged his hard hand on the table silencing everyone with his penetrating gaze and yet she only feels anything from one gaze that hasn't left her.
"I will not have family or not come in my house and ruin my family peace". Rami said making the gulp, "I don't even know what gave you the idea that you can come here and even ask for my daughter's hand. Walk out of the door before I make you".
And they finally walked away.
"If I wasn't mad right now I would have clapped for you". Yusra said as her husband grins at her
"So, do you plan to work with me?". Rami asked his daughter
Amber shakes her head, "I was planning to work somewhere else for my experience first. I did work through my degree but that is nothing compared to real work".
"How about working with Hasan?". Rami suggested earning a grin from his wife at his obvious action
Hasan and Amber's eyes widen, "What?".
"I want my daughter to be under someone protection so my mind is at ease". Rami lied
"Of course! I am your family after all". Hasan mumble more to himself because he would do anything to not be called that because that is the reason he can't have her
"How will that work?. I don't want to be favoured because I know him". Amber said nervously
"You will not be favoured". Hasan said catching her beautiful eyes focused on him making him gulp, "You are simply like an intern for my company. You are not taking anyone place and working just to understand so it should not be a problem. You will be an extra".
Amber eyes narrowed at his words, "I am not an extra".
"It's starting". Yusra whispers to her husband who asks her to be quiet so they can enjoy this
"I never said you were but then you are one". Hasan snapped
"Can you get me some popcorn?". Yusra whispers to her husband who shakes his head at his wife behaviour
Amber clench her hands, "If you are going to give me a position with these words, you can keep it. I would rather work for our favourite rival than you".
She did emphasizes on favourite because she knows she hit a nail.
Hasan faces morphed in pure fury at her words knowing that their rival is a man who was after her in their high school and he literally had a fight with him when he tried to make a move at her.
"You will not go to him". Hasan said as his voice hoarse filled with anger he has taken from Rami especially when it comes to their women, "You will be by my side".
"Whatever".
Yusra giggles breaking their stare off as they look around embarrassed out of their mind wishing they can just evaporate.
"She can start from tomorrow?". Rami asked clearly amused
"Sure. If that what she wants". Hasan said shrugging
Amber narrows her eyes at his answer but didn't reply to anything, not wanting to start again.
Amber looks at herself in the mirror the next morning in her professional attire thinking if she should just run to their rival to avoid him.
As she comes down with that thoughts she finds Hasan on the dining table making her breathing hitched. He simply looks good in whatever he wears and she has seen him years back. Almost 5 years back and now he looks different, colder and more handsome.
"What is he doing here?". She asked looking at her parents who were busing in making breakfast for each other in the kitchen
"I had to make sure you don't run to him". Hasan said grunting as he stands beside her in the kitchen door looking at her parents who were still busy in their world, as usual
Hasan has never seen a couple this old in this way. Obviously, he has seen their love from the start so he has seen it change but the change didn't decrease what they have, it increases and blossoms with time making it more beautiful.
Hasan's eyes turn to the woman beside him who looks absolutely beautiful under the sunlight that is coming from the window on the side making her face radiant and the soft pink shade that starts to appear on her cheeks makes him clench his hand to not take a step and place his hand to simply feel and caress her cheeks.
He gulped.
He enters the kitchen to make his breakfast because in this house everyone works and he likes it. Their kitchen isn't small so everyone has their place to make whatever they wish for.
He knows she is looking at him as the gaze that bore in the side of his face had him almost miss the knife he was spreading his butter with. All he wanted to do was turn to her and ask her what is she hiding in her heart for him.
He didn't.
She walks out of the kitchen when her hearts made it hard to resist him. She moves back to her room to bring her laptop as she enters the dining room again only to find a plate of her favourite breakfast and tea on her side. She didn't have to know who did it because of the way it is placed, she knows it is him and that had her heart clench.
Why can't he stop his mix signals?
Why can't her heart stop for once?
She enters the office following him as she looks around and the office is similar to her father's building. She never thought he will be able to build a close empire in such little time however, he did.
She knows his parents left a large sum of money and property and she feels bad that because of her stepmother brother's greed he has to lost everything he shouldn't have.
She sighs.
"Is there something bothering you?". His concerned voice made her heart thunders
"I was just thinking about your parents". She said truthfully watching the pain in his eyes, "I just feel bad that you have to lose them because of my family--".
"No". He snapped startling her, "No, my parents didn't die for the people who are alive to be guilty of it. They died in the first place for the people to live happily. I will never hold it against anyone".
"Not even my parents".
"Especially not your parents".
She nodded with a little smile and that was enough to flip his heart right out of his chest. He could have sworn that the first time he saw her in the orphanage smiling at some idiot who was acting like he was hurt, she had him there. She had him wrapped around her fingers each day a little more without knowing. All he knows is she thinks he hates her which is good but why does he feel bad?
She immense in her work for hours, skipping lunch and worrying to do everything that was on her table as the supervisor told her to do before she calls it a day.
He walks out of the office at around 9 pm when her parents called saying she hasn't come home and it worries him because all the employees leave at 5.
He stops in his track when he finds her sleeping peacefully on the table with the little lamp beside her providing enough light to show her beautiful features. He couldn't stop his steps as he walks closer to her standing beside her as he continued to gaze at her watching her shiver in her sleep, knowing she is easy to catch a cold he placed his coat over her leaning on the table beside her.
He heard her phone ringing watching a local number displaying without any name. She groaned half asleep as she answers the call, immediately she is fully awake.
"Do you have no shame to not come and meet your only mother?". Her birth mother screamed
She didn't speak.
"Did that woman told you not to? You know the one you started calling mother, I swear that whore--".
"She is my mother". She snapped
"I shouldn't have wasted my time giving birth to someone as useless as you. I should have known that a girl will never be of any benefit--".
He snatched her phone ending the call and her eyes meet his raged eyes only for her to break down. She ran away from this place so she doesn't have to do the forceful meetups with her. Even when her parents prevented them, her birth mother would file a case that they were stopping her daughter and had to meet her.
"Hasan". She cried looking at him, "Why doesn't she leave me alone? Why is she doing this to me?". The pain in her voice had him at the edge, "It hurts. It hurts so much".
She continued to weeps beside him and all he wanted to do was embrace her in his arms and tell her whatever could ease her worry. She wanted to take her away from this pain and to a beautiful world that she deserves, yet he simply stood there watching her cry her heart out.
She enters her house after Hasan convinced her that he will cover for her in case her parents ask questions about her red eyes.
She finds her stepmother standing in front of the stove while her father tightened the jar that she needs sauce for her pasta. She knows her stepmother might be giving her father a famous silent treatment so her father tightens the jar, that way her mother will speak to her father in the end.
That was their usual.
Every time her stepmother is angry, there were always ways her father will have her back.
There were questions asked, Hasan thankfully covered them for her and she smiles at him. He can get used to watching her smiling at her, those smiles are rare and he knows it. She doesn't smile at anyone because she fears so much from the world as her own mother installed fears in her.
Maybe their fears brought them together.
She looks at the piles of work the next day however she loves every minute at work. She didn't have to work directly under him so the wrath is not something she needs to worry about.
She finds someone looking at her making her creeps so she turns to find an older employee creepily smiling at her and she turns around to move away when she bumped into someone, only to find Hasan glaring behind her.
"I am so sorry". She said timidly because his presence makes her feel safe and intimidating at the same time
He sighs looking at her shaking, "You are safe with me here, Amber. All you need to do is come and tell me if somethings bother you".
She tilts her head and a cute frown appears on her forehead making him smile inwardly, "Will you save me from everyone?".
He knows her questions aren't directed to just the one situation he was speaking of before, it was much deeper.
"As long as you want me to, yes".
She feels her heart starts to thunder in her chest as the red shade appears on her cheeks and with a laugh of his, she knows he saw it.
"Are you heading for lunch?. Your mom has been on my head about making sure you ate".
She closes her eyes embarrassed at her mother attitude, "I am sorry. She gets concerned for the smallest things".
"At least you have someone to worry about anything for you".
She can hear the pain-inflicting in his voice and her face turn sad, "There are people who care about you too".
"Where?".
"Here". She said pointing to herself until she realises what she has done and her face turn redder
"I like the sound of that". He said chuckling trying to hide the way his heart just skipped a beat, "Come on! We should go and eat something".
"You don't have to do it".
"I want to".
She didn't say anything but couldn't help the smile that comes on her lips as she follows behind him.
"Baby". She heard someone voice as she turns to her left to find her cousin, Waseem, coming towards her and she steps back behind Hasan
She didn't even have to hide from Waseem view because Hasan was already covering her behind him.
"Why are you here?". Hasan asked wanting to punch him because of the way his eyes looks at her
Like she is his property.
"I just wanted to talk to her". Waseem said shrugging as he looks over his shoulder to her, "Will you mind?".
She steps to the side still shaking but she didn't want to cause trouble for Hasan.
"Why did you say no yesterday? You gave out all the signals and I thought it was the right thing to do". Waseem asked clearly anger visible in his voice from the rejection
Her eyes snapped at his words, "Excuse me? I never even spoke a single word to you in my 25 years of existence, much less give you any signals as you say".
Hasan smirks at her words knowing her father had taught her to fight even when she sometimes cower with it mostly because her birth mother did a wonder on her too.
Waseem growled, "You are a stupid bitch if you think you can simply waste time here and think your father will give you any of his property or office jobs much less especially when your brothers come back who is the rightful owner".
Before the rage that course through Hasan's body could have him do a thing to this man, she leaps forward slapping him hard. Hasan, momentarily, shocked at how hard it sounded and just how hard she did hit the man because of the blood coming from his lips but once the shock subsided, he smirks at the loser, proud of her.
"You and your parents have been rejected already". She seethes in anger, "And your obsession with my property and money will never come true. I would rather kill you before marrying you. And my brothers, if they want to take everything that my parents give them and I wouldn't care because we weren't raised to be at each other neck for what my parents worked hard for. My parents made sure we were strong enough to make our own fortune anyways".
With the anger still shaking her, she slapped the man one last time, "This is for all the times you looked at me and made me disgusted by myself, when it really is you who is a shit piece".
She didn't even look around as she marches right out of the office building leaving Hasan behind who didn't go directly after her because he needed to throw proper punches at his face to make sure they don't heal anytime soon.
He grabs Waseem collar watching the blood oozing out, "You ever come near my woman again and I will rip you apart in pieces".
With the last kick, he marches right out of his office worrying about her. He finds her standing under the sun knowing she loves the sunray and he stands a little away enjoying watching her.
He likes that she is a spitfire.
He knows she tries her best to not show that side because she doesn't want to trouble people around her. However, she can see clearly that her stepmother did teach her to be a fire dragon when needed.
He smiles.
He doesn't know he will ever declare about her so openly. It feels good to say, she is his and he needs to work on making her his too.
"Where do you want to eat?".
She looks at him startled and the wide smile on his face made her heart even worse.
"You don't have--".
"I already said I want to do it. So, are you going to tell me where or do I just pick myself?".
"A-Are you ok?".
He frowns, "I look sick to you?".
"Um, you look weird?". She said not sure what the exact word can be
"How am I weird?". He asked clearly amused making her flush
"Forget I said that". She groaned, "How about a sandwich?".
"Done".
She sits in her favourite spot at the restaurant that she used to come to with her brother often. She looks around smiling, hoping her brothers finish their studies soon to come back here.
Both her brothers are a year apart and both of them are now studying aboard.
Her eyes fall on his knuckles which were wounded than at him to find him looking at her.
"What did you do to your hand?". She asked confused, "You didn't hit him, right?".
He shrugged, "I wanted to hit him for a long time".
"Why?".
"Because he is the reason for your discomfort".
"You shouldn't have. Look what you did to your hand". She said worriedly as she continued to look at it, "Wait, let me clean it".
She takes her handkerchief using the water to clean his knuckles trying her best to not wince at the contact of the handkerchief with his wound.
However, when he winced in pain, her eyes brimmed with tears.
"I told you it's not worth it to hurt yourself because of me". She said wiping her tears
His eyes hardened, "I know what is worth it, Amber. And you are worth a lot more. This will heal anyway".
"But you are hurt".
"So were you". He said casually, "Even if I have to hit him again, I will".
She sighs, "What if you get in trouble?".
"Still worth it".
The food arrived and she starts to eat it, feeling his eyes on her the whole time which wasn't uncomfortable by any means. She has shared many meals with him in the orphanage and it was always the same.
They enter her house after a long day at work and it seems to him that her parents are calling him every night for dinner these days. Hasan did meet her parents often, just not this much.
Hasan looks at her father who looks scary for some reasons as he asks her father to speak to him in private. He never felt this fear in him, he looks at her father on his office chair looking at him patiently.
"I-I have something to say". He stuttered
"You told me that already". Her father replied rolling his eyes
He gulped, "I wish to marry your daughter if you give me permission".
He waited for exactly two minutes and that has to be the longest two minutes in which her father simply glare at him before breaking into a wide smile.
"You have my permission, Hasan". Her father said coming closer to him holding his shoulder
"Really?".
"You are an amazing boy and I have seen you growing in front of my eyes. If I were to trust anyone with my daughter, it is you". Her father said smiling
"But--".
"Don't doubt yourself. Even when you were just a little boy, you choose an orphanage for yourself and made the decision that you wished for and they were all mature decisions. You managed to live and become an amazing man, Hasan".
He hugged her father almost crying in happiness, "I cannot thank you enough. I will ask for her hand formally in a while. She needs to settle in and can you please ask her if she likes me? If she doesn't wish to marry me, please let me know, I don't want to pressure her in this".
Her father smiled nodding, "I will speak to her mother to speak to her".
She looks at her mother who is busy cooking, "How did you know that Baba was the one?".
Her mother laughs, "Who said I knew he was the one?".
"Then? How did you fall for him?".
"I didn't, Amber. That's not how love works, you don't know who is the one and you can never predict what love is".
"So?".
"He was the man who saved me. He was the source of my comfort, peace, respect and he was the one I could turn to when I was in distress. He was by my side when I fought my battles. I knew what I needed was comfort and when he provided me with it, I knew he is the one I want to stay with".
"I don't know what I want".
"You know what you want, Amber. You are just not working on it".
"What do you mean?". She said scared if her mother has seen how she looks at Hasan
"You should know". Her mother said turning to her, "If you have someone or something that makes you happy, that is something you wish to have in your life, we will support you".
"Why?".
"Why not? We supported you when you wanted to study aboard. We provided whatever that you wish for and whatever you desired for. Why will we stop you from having someone that you love in your life? Especially if that person makes you happy?".
"Love?". She gasped at that word
Isn't that too powerful?
Her mother chuckles, "Don't worry yourself. You will find your way".
The next day she enters the office building to find everyone whispering. She didn't bother until she heard something else.
"They took boss". The colleague said and her eyes widen, "The police said that he assaulted that man yesterday--".
She didn't even think before she was running out of the building and to the police station in about 30 minutes. She enters the police station looking around to find him until she finds him hurdle in the corner with his head on his knees.
She starts to move to him when the police officer stops her and she asked for 10 minutes after a long talk.
She takes timid steps towards him feeling everyone's eyes on her.
"Hasan". She whispers and his head snapped at her voice
Her eyes widen as they fill with tears watching the abuse that the police did on him. His lips were bleeding, his cheeks were swollen so were his eyes. She could see his clothes were ripped from the beating and a sob leaves her lips when he grunted in pain coming closer to her.
"Don't cry, Amber". He said softly shaking his head and the pain in his body was killing him
"I told you it wasn't worth it". She cried harder as she wishes to reach to him and hug him
She can't.
"I told you too". He said with a broken smile, "You are worth it".
His eyes move to the men watching her like prey and the anger bubble inside of him.
"Go back". He said looking at her and she shakes her head, "Leave, Amber".
She cried wanting to stay but decided to leave to head straight home. She enters the lounge where her parents were still crying and she heard their worried voices asking her about what went wrong.
"T-They took Hasan". She cried in her father arms, "Bring him back to me, please".
"Shhh". Her father said comforting her, "Who took him?".
"Police".
That all she said as her father excused himself heading to the police station to sort the matter.
She looks at her mother crying, "I want to be with him".
Her mother smiles wiping her tears, "Then you will be".
She heard the door ringing thinking Hasan is back, she opened the door only to find her uncle family pushing past her.
"What are you doing here?". Her stepmother said angrily
"We have a proposal". Her uncle said smirking, "We will let Hasan out if you give us Amber".
Amber stilled looking at them.
"You can dream about that". She heard Hasan voice and her eyes widen looking at him entering inside and his body being supported by her father guards, "She isn't going to do any stupid sacrifices even if you lock me forever in a jail".
"How did you got out?". Waseem said angrily
Hasan smirks looking at her father who had a similar look.
"I warned you". Her father snapped, "I will make sure you don't ever come near my family again".
It was a promise.
She looks at Hasan for the longest time while he smiles at her even in pain.
She opens her eyes looking at the time which indicates it's 2 AM and she barely slept last night. Although her father cleared the situation, took Hasan to hospital and her mother had Hasan stay in their guest room after making him eat all the sick people food, she still cannot stop her heart from hurting every single time he would wince.
She moves to the kitchen to make herself a coffee to enjoy in the garden. She knows her father built this garden because of her mother love for flowers. It took him years of failing, learning and finally managing to build her mother a place she wanted.
She was glad she grew in a place where her parents were in love and they would do anything to keep that love safe.
She opens the back door placing her feet on the cold grass with a smile appearing on her face instantly.
"What are you smiling about?". She heard his voice making her heart skip a beat as she looks at him standing in front of her, "Are you thinking about me?".
She shrugged, "Why will I think about you?".
"Why not?".
"Let me think". She said thoughtfully, "You are rude and mean to me".
"No, I am not".
"Yes, you are".
He takes a step closer and she takes one back, "What if you were to be bonded with this rude and mean man?".
She sighs dramatically, "I guess I will have to bear it all or I can just put you straight".
He laughs wincing when the pain occurs, "You are just like your mother".
"Obviously".
"So, you will marry me?". He asked as his eyes shine with the hope and happiness of their future together as he had dreamt many times
"Do you want to marry me?". She asked blushing
"Dil-o-Jaan se". (With all my heart and soul)
"Toh mujhe bhi manzoor hai". (Then so do I)
Rami looks at his wife sleeping as he holds her hand kissing it placing it on his cheeks. He knows today is one of those nights where she is going to be pain not because of her health, it is the pain of those memories that stayed with her to this day.
Some painful cries and suffering follow human to their future. He has seen her crying every year on the same date when she lost her first love. He never felt insecure, he felt pride that she never let her past, her painful memories and those times overpower her future. She gave him her best even when he never asked for it and she is the reason for having this beautiful family.
So, even if some days she needs him to simply hold her hand and she weeps in her sorrow, so be it. He will gladly be her armour instead of allowing her to cry by herself.
He kisses her forehead watching her opening her eyes and a soft cry leaves her lips clenching his heart as he pulls her in his arms whispering soothing words until she fell asleep again.
"What are you doing?". Amber said groaning as she looks at her husband bringing half of the market clothes to her in a matter of 10 minutes
"I am choosing my wife clothes, do you have an issue?". Hasan asked grinning as he looks at his wife
"I can choose for myself, thank you very much". Amber said shaking her head as she proceeds to buy a dress
Hasan quickly following behind holding her hand turning her around as he bends to her level and she starts to blush in his presence.
"Kia hai?". She asked trying to move back but he didn't let her (what is it)
He smiles kisses her nose, "Kuch nahi. Bus apne dil ko yakeen dila raha tha k ap meri he hain". (Nothing. I was just confirming my heart that you are mine)
"We should have made it hard for them to marry". Yusra said sighing, "Couldn't you like object and say I am against this wedding? It would have been so much fun".
Rami shakes his head, "Stop watching stupid dramas".
Yusra slaps his chest, "Stop being annoying. Just imagine how good their story would have been when they told their kids".
"And we will be villains in their story". Rami pointed
"Being a villain is not a bad thing". Yusra said shrugging, "We are a villain in some people story anyway".
"You were the one who wanted them married". Rami said looking at his daughter laughing with her husband
Yusra looks around at the woman looking at her husband as she glare at them, "Can you cut down on your gym now?".
"Why?".
"Just do it".
"No".
Yusra groans, "All the women are looking at you like you are a piece of meat".
Rami leans closer to her, "But I am looking at you like you are a piece of meat".
And there goes she blushing like a tomato making him laugh as he wraps his arms around her.
"Don't worry, begum Sahiba, as long as I am alive my eyes, body and heart are just for you". Rami said kissing her cheeks as they went on a shopping
That was them.
Rami and Yusra.
Hasan and Amber.
THE END!
Honestly I can't stop writing about Yusra and Rami. They are just so good. :")
First it was to look at them growing as a family and then I thought about them growing old. They look best at both of them.
What was your favourite part?
See you all soon.
