44.3:"Carrying the burden".

They sit in the hospital emergency room as she was getting treated for the wound on her arm. He stands beside her watching her hissing in pain when the doctor stitches her wound and his own heart clenched watching her.

He should have run faster.

He managed to pull her away but her hand hit the metal of the truck that was ripped causing a big wound on her arm and the bleeding even scared him at that moment. He placed a cloth over her arm to stop the bleeding as he runs for his car and brought her to hospital in record time.

"Just make sure you finish the drip before you leave and the medicine you can buy from outside. She might have a fever because of the sudden trauma and the stitches so be careful". The doctor explained him

He nodded taking the receipt going outside to pay the bill and to bring her medicine. After he was done collecting he went back inside to find her looking at the wall quietly.

"What were you thinking?". He asked sitting on the chair beside her

"I wasn't thinking". She said shrugging

"You were running away". He stated knowing exactly what he saw, "Why?".

"You said wounds were ugly but what about the people who gave them?. What are they?". She asked as sadness lace through her voice

He tilts his head, "I don't think people have conscious to care about how their words and actions can make someone else". He pauses sighing, "Those are the most hideous people on earth. Without conscious they ruin everything and everyone around them".

She nodded, "I don't want to see them".

She didn't hear anything from him in return so she turns to look at him finding him in deep thoughts.

"I didn't want to say this..". He started,  "But unfortunately those people I saw early will be in the meetings because they are our competitors".

Her eyes widen as she panics, "Can we not see them, please?".

"Are you going to continue avoiding them?". He asked gently

"I cannot see them. I just can't". She said feeling suffocated

"Noor". He said calling her loudly to grab her attention before she goes in full panic, "I will be there with you. You aren't alone".

Those were the words he once desired to hear from someone. He shakes his head not wanting to dwell in his feelings because that will leave him to the dark place he doesn't wish to be in.

After the drip ended they went back to the hotel without any more words exchanged. Once she was inside her room she fell to the floor feeling the unbearable pressure on her shoulder.

She chokes on the ground as tears start to fall continuously while she cried her heart out. She remembers every word and action which killed her from inside. She feels her heart ripping into pieces as she walks towards her room standing in front of the mirror she couldn't even bear to look at herself.

She finds herself the most horrible person on earth or so she was asked to believe. She hadn't hurt anyone in any way yet she feels the wound appearing on her skin as she looks at herself.

The dark red bruises on her pale face that she knows well how to cover. Those bruises even when they are not there now she cannot ever look at herself in the mirror without them. It was all her fault that she was this way. She wasn't a person who deserved anything in her life which is why she was trying harder than other to never have her parents be disappointed in her and for them to never have complains from her so they don't abandon her just like her birth mother.

The constant fear of not being good enough and to be a burden like how she had heard many people say to her parents when they find they have two daughters. She doesn't want her sister to ever face any such things so she always kept her safe and away from the world she had to face.

She never let her parents know of her struggle not wanting to think she was weakling. Her father did bring her like a strong woman, it was her who was failing at not being one and she doesn't want to ever look at him to find him looking down at her. She wouldn't be able to bear that in her life.

The dark thoughts about her worth and more started to pollute her mind making it hard for her to look at anything good beside her. She had lived in these thoughts for such a long time now that they became a part of her. She always steps back and tries to leave whatever that hurts her or could hurt her even if it's her own love.

She heard the loud knocking restoring through the house startling her as she went towards the door fearing to find any of them there. She looks through the door hole to find Waqas standing there waiting so she opened the door for him confused.

"I thought about it and leaving you alone doesn't fit well with me". He explained briefly as he waits for her approval to come inside, "I promise I have no other intentions. You already know where I live, what I do and my friends in case you want to find me to kill me".

She couldn't hide the smile as she shakes her head letting him inside the room.

"Just make sure if you were to kill me, it's not a painful death. Do it fast". He said smiling as he sits on the couch watching her limping to come to sit on the other one

She chuckles which wasn't something he was used to as she leans in the couch closing her eyes.

"For all the things you have done to me, do you believe I will allow you an easy death?". She asked

"I can request. They say a dying man last wish is always fulfilled". He stated watching the way she was barely holding herself together making him worry about her, "What have I done to you?".

He has no idea that he had done something to her. All he knows is she came back one day and was after his neck.

She opens her eyes looking at him, "Enough".

He frowns at her reply, "But I don't remember anything".

"That's the point". She mumbles as she went into deep sleep making herself comfortable on the couch, "Don't leave me alone, please".

He watched her sleeping for a while before he brought the duvet covering her properly. He worries that she might have a fever and he didn't want to do anything inappropriate even when she was asleep because his conscious won't let him live.

He went out of her room with her card so he can come back in without disturbing her. He made sure to close all the lights around and keeping the temperature to a minimum so she doesn't feel cold. He wanted to grab his phone which he forgot in his room in a hurry to come to her room.

He remembers the long debate he had with himself deciding if it was the best option to go to her or if he should leave her alone. He knows leaving her alone was the worse thing to do so he couldn't hold himself back from running to her.

He enters inside his room taking his phone walking out of his room to the elevator. As the elevator opens he found someone standing there making his whole form stiffen.

He clenches his hands keeping a stone face as he enters inside not wanting to show any sort of weakness in front of those who feed on them.

"It's been a long time". Usman said looking at him and he ignored him, "What?. You lost your voice over time?".

He chooses not to react as he has things to do for now. When the door opens at her floor he immediately went outside feeling his heart beating rapidly in pure shock. He didn't want a face-off in a foreign land and away from Zaheer. At least if he was back home he could have done a better job!?. Maybe, he would have or maybe he wouldn't. His mind starts to play the worse scenario that he didn't want as he leans on the wall beside her door but when he heard someone footstep he went inside her room barely keeping his strength entering inside he feels all the energy draining from his body as he leans on the wall closing his eyes.

His heart starts to bleed from the wound that was not even healed, to begin with. He wasn't ready to fight this battle.

He felt the loneliness inside of him coming at him making him feels the need he never knows he had in him.

He heard her whimpering and the previous lack of strength all vanished as his body immediately runs towards her watching her begging to someone in her sleep. The way she violently shakes and begged had him want to find someone to kill or specifically the person who was behind her nightmare.

He feels all of his own emotions heightened at watching her suffering and his own pain doesn't even stop him from not comforting her.

He sits in front of her as she struggles in her sleep while he calls her name to get her attention until he finally managed to do it.

"I am scared". She cried drowsy from the medicine, "Please, save me".

"Who do I need to save you from?". He asked softly

"Everyone". She mumbles going back to sleep leaving him restless

He knows even when he was a coward he needs to have her fight her battle. So, for the rest of the day, he took care of her, bringing her food, medicine, comfort words and his presence as he brings her back to reality.

The next morning he asked her to meet her before the sunrise at the same spot they met the other night. He knows for a fact that she wouldn't bring any coat for herself in this cold weather so he brought two already.

Just as she enters his breathing hitched watching her walking sleepy towards him and even in this state, he feels something within him. He couldn't take his eyes away from her innocent eyes looking at him in confusion as she speaks something but he couldn't hear a word over his heartbeat that rang in his ear.

"Are we going to continue staring?. Is this a competition?". She asked finally bringing him back to his sense

Well her sarcasm always brings him back to square one.

"There she is". He said grinning, "The ninja woman".

He placed the jacket around her covering her properly as they stand side by side watching the sunrise.

"You like the moon, right?". He asked smiling and she nodded, "I think you should change to the sun".

"Why?". She asked confused

"Because every day, good or bad, the sun comes out with a brightness that no one can match. It brings the colour of hope for people. Even if it goes away for a while it doesn't allow anyone to take away the brightness it has in it". He explained, "That is just how life works. It cannot always be filled with brightness and it will bring it darkness to us. But as long as we don't allow anyone to take away what we have inside of us, that is all that matter".

"It's not that easy". She sighed, "The ringing inside of my head is killing me alive".

"Because you are letting it overpower you. I believe in you, Noor. I have never seen a woman who would go around slapping and kicking people or not let anyone bring them down. Not allowing anyone to speak nonsense to them. How is this different?".

"Because I stop them before they give me a wound. They are the one who already gave them to me".

"Isn't the burden of carrying someone hate is hard?. Why do you want to continue to carry them inside of you when all it does is pain you?. Why not free yourself and fight them all?. They did all that because you were better from them. Why do you want to ruin yourself and make them know they achieve what they wanted?. You've everyone by your side, Noor. You have me by your side no matter what".

She falls on the ground wrapping her hands around herself as she started to cry her heart out.

"I want to end it all". She said truthfully as tears fall down her face, "I want to give them back the pain they once gave me. I want to kill them all".

Waqas smirks, "That's my speciality".

"What?". She asked confused watching as he turns to a completely different man, "Are you in mafia?. Psychopath?".

He smirks,"Something similar". He looks right at her as his eyes held the fury for a battle,  "Let's go and kill them all".
