44.1:"Rivalry at it's finest".

Before you start this chapter you should revise chapter 25 from part one because the character will be from there.

This is the time after Zaheer and Zohra got married and the two years gap that was in their story.

Hope that makes sense, hehe.

The most awaited chapter so far. ;)

:P

Let me know what you think?.

*******

Waqas isn't a simple man that one can understand he is a complex man when it comes to the people outside of his circle and his circle is rather small which has two loners.

One of the oldest loner being Zaheer and the new addition for the past few months is Zohra. Though he was more than just glad that Zohra managed to escape her awful shit piece husband and now she is living her life making the most out of it. The most happiest he had been was when they got married last year.

He enters inside his office in long confident stride watching as the people shattered away scared of his demeanour. He couldn't blame them because he has lived in a world where he doesn't allow anyone to see even a single sign of his soft heart hiding behind the mask of strictly and accuracy.

He has an obsession of knowing things that go around him usually some of them end him in trouble but he has his way around them which is the reason he knew most of Zohra story but he respected her enough to not enclose her secret to his friend.

Similarly, he goes around knowing the secret of people because it makes him feel secure. He heard the knock on his door when the door opened to his partner walking inside his office.

Noor Yahya.

She is the daughter of a well known influential man and she had built her name in this field like her father but he was still amazed that she finds her way instead of taking advantage of her father.

"Are you going to continue looking at me all day?". She asked rolling her eyes

He forgot to mention before but she has a terrible attitude, language, temper and everything in general. She doesn't have the patience inside of her and she is in a hurry at all time or at least when she is with him.

"Can you hurry up?. I have things to do". She said starting to get irritated

"You know you are not your father's daughter here instead you are just my partner?". He said taunting knowing she will react to the words

He had known her father from a young age because he helped him in growing up well.

She takes long stride towards him slamming the files in front of him, "I never once took my Baba (father) name so don't you dare go there".

"And what if I do?". He asked challenging not backing down

They have done this almost all the time they are around each other. She always says something and he counters attack it and the fight goes on.

"I don't have time for your stupid tricks. These are the files that you need to read before we have to leave to look at the location".

He always likes how she is focused on work and never fail at it.

"I will look into them". He stated nonchalantly leaning on his chair, "Find your way out and make sure your secretary booked our flights right".

She narrows her eyes at him wanting to snap at him when his secretary walks inside in a tight dress making her clench her hands as she turns around without any more words shutting the door harder than she should.

He watches her as confusion lingers in his mind. He knows her enough from the past years and these past five years when she becomes his partner to know she will always have the last words and never back down. Then why did she?.

"Sir?". His secretary said snapping her finger in front of him leaning close to him

"Move back". He ordered glaring at her, "What is it?".

"You have a meeting in 20 minutes". His secretary stated

"There were 20 minutes and I told you to notify me 10 minutes before why are you here?". He asked as his eyes narrow at her in anger which he doesn't know why he has but it must be because of having an encounter first thing in the morning with Noor

"I-I thought I should inform you early because it's an important meeting". His secretary said scared for her life as she looks at the anger on his face

"Leave". He ordered as he watches her run outside making him sigh once he was alone

"I am going to punch him one day". Noor said entering inside her office feeling the anger inside of her

"Is it him or her?". Her secretary and friend- Fiza asked smirking

She turns glaring at him, "I am going to punch one of them someday".

Fiza chuckles, "Why don't you accept it?".

"Don't make me angrier with your theories. The only thing I have for him is hatred". She said gritting her teeth

"Why do you have it?". Fiza asked raising her eyebrows

"Well...". She started as she starts to think, "Because he always fights with me".

"Trying taking a step back and you might find things clearing up". Fiza suggested as she went out of the office

She enters inside her house hearing her parent's voice as she runs towards their voices finding them on the couch talking among themselves.

"Baba". She said excitedly hugging him making him laugh, "I am free".

"You went to work not jail". Her father said shaking his head

"Same thing". She said shrugging

"Then why do you do it?". She heard his voice as she abruptly turns around to find him on the opposite couch

"What is he doing here?". She asked angrily as she glares at him

"We invited him over for dinner since you are both leaving for a week". His father explained nervously knowing his daughter hates him

"Then spend time with me. Why him?". She asked frowning

"We stay with you all the time". Her mother said rolling her eyes, "He is like a son to me so behave".

She pouts crossing her arms over her chest, "You don't love me anymore".

"I don't". Her mother said instantly

"See, Baba. Now next thing she will say is to leave her house". She whined looking at her father sadly

"I was barely managing with my wife and now I have a copy of her". Her father said sighing watching the two bickerings non-stop which is their usual way of communicating

"Baba". She heard her younger sister Hooria said as she enters inside after a long day

"You look tired". She said grinning as she walks towards her

"Long day". Hooria said sighing as she slumps on the couch and she sits beside her

She moves closer to her sister as she whispers, "Or you just didn't get to see him".

Hooria eyes widen as she punches her sister making her groan in pain.

"Look. Both your women are abusing me either verbally or physically". She said looking at her father, "Is this why you kept me here for?. Am I the next Cinderella in town?".

"Who is your prince then?". Hooria asked giggling as she looks at her eyes widening, "Do you have one or will he have to find you?".

"I think you have one instead". She counter-attack making Hooria speechless

"Stop your drama". Hooria said shaking her head, "Let's go change first".

"She is crazy". He mumbles looking at her leaving not before glaring at him

"It's good you came here. Ever since you started working we rarely see you". Her father said looking at him smiling, "How is everything?".

"It's good. Just the new projects are crucial which is why I can't give time to anything else". He said smiling tightly

"You should find yourself a wife". Her mother said softly, "It's about time you start giving time to someone else and grow in another perspective".

He knows her mother value the worth of family as she comes from a broken one but his priority had never been a family all he cares about the next project on hand.

"I don't think I want to do that". He said honestly because he can be honest with either his friend or them, "It's a big responsibility and I can barely manage myself".

"What if you find someone you want to marry?. Will you still hesitate and continue to be scared or will you take a chance and do your best in it?". Her father asked

She comes downstairs but stopped when she heard her father words hiding from their view as she waits for his answer.

"I am not interested in anyone and even if there is someone who likes me they shouldn't. It's a waste of their feeling and I don't want to be burdened by their emotions". He said truthfully making her heart clench

She took a deep breath entering inside with her usual poker face feeling the thick tension in the air which she managed to break in the next few minutes with her weirdness.

Her father walked out of the house towards the backyard when he followed behind him standing beside him looking at the moon.

"I think the most constant thing in this world from the first day is the moon and the sun". Her father said, "They must have seen many things happening".

"Perhaps". He said shrugging, "Why do you look worried?".

"My daughter is grown". Her father said sadly, "Though they never grow for me the world out there is scary and to have them walk on their own is even scarier".

"They can learn from their wounds". He suggested, "If you hide them away it might just be the worse".

"How would you know?". Her father asked raising his eyebrows

"Because I met someone who wasn't taught the ways of this world. It is harder for her to learn now about everything from any normal person who was exposed to them already". He said referring to Zohra

"Must be someone you like to have you talk about her openly". Her father asked curiously

He smiles, "She has someone who is someone who can take care of her. I am nowhere near someone who can take care of another individual. I am barely surviving on my own".

"That's what you choose to believe". Her father said shaking his head, "I have seen you grow into an amazing man with values, moral and dreams. However, you forgot that you can have more of what your heart desires".

"I don't have anything that my heart desires. I have a job and that is all". He said confused

Her father chuckles placing a hand over his shoulder, "That is what you choose to believe. When your existence is shaken that is when you will know exactly what your heart desired all this time".

"Why are you worried about your daughter?". He asked changing the topic

"The last time Noor went away on her own was when she went for her university which to this day I have no idea why she chooses to go that far when she always showed interest in universities here. But after she came back from there she changed into a different woman that I couldn't even recognise for a while". Her father said reminiscing the old days," She is travelling again after a long time and I am just worried about her safety".

"She can fight people". He said thoughtfully, "She fights everyone".

Her father laughs, "That's my daughter you are speaking of and that is something she took from her mother".

"Are you bad mouthing me?". Her mother said walking into the backyard, "At least do it right".

Her father smiles beautifully as he looks at the way her father eyes starts to shine watching her mother. Her father opens his hand as her mother walks in his arms.

"You should go back and rest. You have an early flight. Even Noor who doesn't go to bed early, went to bed". Her mother said smiling

He nodded running out of the warm house he had been years ago and had avoided for a long time. He doesn't want to feel these warm feeling because those are not real. This world is harsher for the people who have no one. He wouldn't want to leave someone behind to suffer on their own.

She sits on her bed looking at the photo book of her high school year where she was the happiest. She moves her hand over her picture wondering how long she has to hold it all inside of her.

The next day she was ready for the day and arrived at the airport a little late because of the headache that was killing her. She curses herself for not sleeping the night.

She holds her luggage dragging it inside when she bumped into someone causing her to fall. She snarled standing to fight head-on when her heart stopped.

"Marcus". She couldn't believe her past was catching on this soon
