43.4:"Grey".
"You know doing business with that man will only do us harm". Waqas said as they enter inside his office
"What's the use of saving ourselves in this temporary world?". He asked frustrated as his mind wouldn't stop playing her words
When I turned 15.
Fifteen?. Is that even a marriage?. He cannot accept the fact that she was married off at such young age and that means she must have faced the devil all by herself. Scared and alone.
"Why are you doing this?. Is it because--". Waqas started but he banged his hand hard on the table scaring him
"Do not speak about it". He said raged, "If you don't want to be part of it feel free to walk away but I will do everything to bring that man down".
He heard the office door being knocked a moment later walked in the sinner- Tauheed. He hated this man with passion because of his cunning ways to get whatever he desired.
"It's new to be called by you". Tauheed said smirking as he sits on the sofa, "Do me a favour and get to the point. I don't wish to waste my time if it isn't worth it".
"We have the same enemy we want to bring down". He said sitting opposite of him, "Raza".
Tauheed leans forward raising his eyebrows as he looks at him curiously, "You aren't the one who hit the enemy. Then what is this about?".
"He did something he shouldn't have". He stated, "I don't intend to go in details but I want you to buy him outright when I hit the next deal".
"He will be weak when you get that contract". Tauheed said thoughtfully, "What do I get from it?".
"What do you want?". He asked looking at him leaning back at the sofa
Tauheed smirks looking at him as the hint of glint told him this wasn't going to be something he would like, "It's not something you can provide with anyways".
"What do you mean?". He asked confused
"When I buy him out he will be a puppet in my hand. I know he is an insecure weak man so I will offer him something in exchange of something he owns for now". Tauheed said smirking, "I will ask for his beautiful wife".
In a split second, he was out of his seat grabbing his collar glaring at him, "You will do no such thing. She isn't involved in our game".
"Why isn't she?. If I can have her for a day for fun--". Tauheed started
He pushed him ready to punch him, "I said she is not in this game. Do you hear me?".
"I wanted to check a fact". Tauheed said pushing at him, "Guess I hit the nail".
"What do you mean?". He asked as his eyes hardened
"You are doing this for the girl". Tauheed said straightening his clothes, "I found about her from my guard the other day. She went in hiding and no one knows where she is. Her husband is losing his mind to find her but he has no leads".
"What are you on about?". He asked clenching his hands
"I wonder how much you know about her". Tauheed said pausing for a second, "But I have one rule and that is no woman in business. That man is capable of using women for his pleasure and the more I looked into his current wife the more it pissed me off".
"So?".
"I will help. Let's bring him down".
He planned the whole deal for the next full week not wanting to lose this one time chance. The contractor is from government which means the offer is more valuable than ever. He needed to get that deal to break his company enough for someone to buy it out.
He sighs tiredly walking inside his mansion throwing his tie on the sofa with his bag as he walked to the kitchen knowing she will be there but when he didn't find her there he walked upstairs. He looked around for a moment until he saw his study door open so he went there opening it a little more.
He peaks inside watching as she sits on his big black chair with her hand on the table in a strange posture.
"I told you I don't want to eat anything". She spoke in a deep weird voice and he immediately understands that she was recreating the scene from yesterday, "If you wish to eat just go and eat yourself. Don't disturb me".
He stands there watching as she mimics his actions and words as a smile gaze his lips watching her immense in her performance.
As she finished he claps his hand and she immediately hides under the table.
"That was good". He commented as she raises her head looking at him and then stands, "Was that me?".
"How can I dare to be you". She said shrugging
"Why do I feel that was sarcasm?". He said leaning on the floor
"You can believe what you want". She said grinning making his heart skip a beat, "Did you eat?".
He stood there watching as she spins half-circle playing with the hem of her sweater that is actually his sweater that he lends her until he gets her to shop online for her clothes. Since he hadn't seen much of her in a week he didn't even look at her in his clothes.
Though the sweater was twice her size hiding everything perfectly in it. The arms were long enough even after rolling them up and the length of it was long too however there was a charm either in her or in this moment because he felt drawn towards her in with her hidden in all form.
Her face was clearing from the bruises while some of them will take some more time but her rosy cheeks were starting to appear again and he can feel his heart fluttering simply watching her and he couldn't even cast his eyes away from her. There was something exceptional and pure inside of him that he never had for anyone before.
He stayed away from her thinking that maybe he was same as all the men in the world who lust over any women that come around them and that his feelings were simply his desire that he had suppressed.
But now standing in front of her watching her doing absolutely nothing yet having the power to have him do anything for her wasn't just his lust. He would have never done anything for anyone because he never liked being involved in other people business. Even when he was like that and he was strong enough to withstand he still failed miserably the moment he heard her ask his help.
He didn't wish to have her in any wrong way neither he was drawn to her by her figure. All he had been thinking about is that he needs to protect her even if he has his own life at risk. He has to bring her peace and happiness in however way he could.
"Kia soch rahy hain?". She asked snapping her finger as she stands in front of him on her tiptoe to reach his height (what are you thinking about)
"Soch raha hoon k woh konsa jadu hai jo tum nae mujh per kia hai". (I am thinking about what sort of magic you did on me)
"Allah maaf kary, mai is tarha ki cheezein nahi karti. Ap yeh kyun kah rahy hain?". (May Lord forgive me, I don't do such things. Why are you thinking like that)
"Kyun k mujhe yeh samjh mai nahi a raha k yeh sub jo mai kar raha hoon yeh kyun kar raha hoon". (Because I can't understand that the things I am doing right now why am I doing them for)
"Ap meri help nahi karna chahty?". She asked sadly (You don't want to help me)
"Agar jaan bhi chale jaye tub bhi mai pichy nahi hatho ga". (Even if my life goes in this I will not step back)
"Allah na kary ap is tarha ki batein kyun kar rahy hain?". She asked as tears brimmed in her eyes thinking about his death because of her (May it never happens why are you speaking like this)
"I told you not to cry". He said itching to wipe her tears away, "Ittni se baat per rona shoro kar diya?. Kia koi tank laga howa hai jo leak hota rahta hai?". (You started crying on such small things?. Is there a tank in your eyes that starts to leak every time)
She wipes her tears away glaring at him, "Mujhe ap se baat nahi karni". (I don't want to speak to you)
"Arey sunno toh--". (Listen--)
She shuts the door extra hard just to let him know that she is mad making him chuckle at her behaviour.
After a complete hour of waiting for her to come down so they can eat he sighs walking towards her side not wanting to yet he couldn't stop himself for going towards her.
He knocks on the door, "Are you still angry at me?".
He heard a loud bang against the door startling him, "I guess that's a yes".
He thought for a moment to bring her outside and the number of options he has on the list. He dialled Waqas number and after two calls he answered.
"Do you have any other human in your life besides me?. I used to think I was lucky to have been your friend but I recently started to rethink about all of this". Waqas said groaning as once again his sleep was disturbed, "I need my sleep in case you don't know this is the time normal people sleep".
"How do we get a person angry at us to not be angry?". He asked ignoring his ranting
"You have another person in your life?". Waqas asked shocked, "And if you are asking at this time it should be a woman problem then".
"How can I do it?". He asked again not wanting to be interrogated
"How will I know because of you I never had any woman in my life". Waqas said irritated, "I swear if you get a woman before me I will--".
He cancelled the call going to Google about the current issue at hand. He never had a person angry at him much less a woman angry at him for him to know exactly what needed to be done to get them back.
After looking through the options he only found everything related to food. He sighs ordering the things walking downstairs pacing around for another half hour looking at the time impatiently and then he finally heard the bell ringing.
She heard the bell ringing and this is the first time she got mad at someone. She wasn't sure why she was mad but she knows she felt something when he suddenly spoke about his death as a joke. She didn't like it one bit when she imagined his death and the feeling only made her sadder.
Though she wasn't mad at him she tends to close herself when she is deeply sad about something and she doesn't know what she can do or say to someone about what's in her heart. But he did manage to get a few things out of her which she did feel comfortable enough to share because she hadn't done that ever before not even with her own family.
She decided she needs to end her sadness and not worry him anymore as she didn't like disturbing his peace. She tried her best to stay out of his way for a whole week only looking at him behind the wall or from hiding.
She would wait for him to wake up early morning as she looks through her door watching him go down and eat breakfast then she would wait late night until she watched him getting out of the car and she run to hide in her room again.
She stands from the bed walking downstairs hearing some sounds as she enters inside the lounge her eyes widen in glee watching the number of snacks on the table that she didn't get to eat for years.
"What is all this?". She asked looking at him wide eyes
He starches the back of his neck looking anywhere but at her hypnotising eyes, "Um, snacks?".
"For me?". She asked grinning as she stands on her tiptoe blinking her eyes at him making all the words vanish from his mind
He shakes his head, "Don't do that".
She frowns, "What did I do?".
"Just...that".
She tilts her head sideways, "I didn't do anything".
He groaned irritated brushing his hair through his hair feeling his heart ready to explode at any given moment, "Just don't get mad at me anymore".
"Then promise me you won't speak about your death". She said looking at her as tears brimmed her eyes again, "I don't want to lose more people I care about".
"You are angry at me because I spoke about my death?". He said flabbergasted, "And you care about me?".
"What's wrong with you?". She asked completely lost at where this is going
"You cannot care about someone like me".
"Why?. Are you a psychopath?".
He looks at her blankly for the longest time, "Your imagination is very....unique especially about me. Is it only me you imagine in such wild imagination or are there more people?".
She grins sweetly, "I like making stories in my head. Sorry".
He shakes his head, "I am guessing you do that all the time".
"They make me want to live and make my life a little easy. When I live someone else life for a moment and I can give them the happiness I never had". She said smiling lightly
He sighs passing her the chocolate which she snatched from his hand excitedly eating it.
"You like making stories why not write them down?".
"I am scared".
"Of?".
"People's opinions. They can be harsh and I think I am extra sensitive so I can spend my whole day cursing myself".
"I never get why are we so concerned about other views about us. Shouldn't we just care about people who are genuine to us?".
"We can. But it's hard with our society constantly invading our lives and even our families asking us to put everyone first before us so naturally, we just tend to not care about our mental health or any health for that matter".
"That makes sense. But even when there will be people who point at you, there will be many who will be comforted by your words or imagination even if it's for a moment".
"I will think about it".
"You can write?".
"What?. You think I am illiterate?".
"I mean...".
She sighs placing her chocolate in her lap and he immediately added, "Don't be mad at me again".
She smiles watching how much he is concerned about her getting simply angry at him.
"No. I am not mad. It's just you are right I am illiterate. My family married me at 15 and my husband never wanted me to leave the house for anything so I didn't get to do much".
"Wait. You have been locked in his house since you were 15?".
"Yes. He never liked me interacting with people or leaving. He gets very angry".
"Why were you at that event then?".
"He wanted to show off his wife to get some contract. He said I was of the age that he didn't have to worry about people objections and that he will tell everyone that I fell in love with him".
His hands clenched, "Are you in love with him?".
"What is love?".
He thought for a moment, "I don't know".
"How old are you?".
"30. Why?".
"And you never loved anyone or know what it means".
"Age doesn't have to do with it anyway. I didn't have that much free time on my hands".
"What were you doing all this time?".
"Surviving".
"Guess we were doing similar things at different places".
"I guess".
She sighs leaning on the couch, "There was only one elderly maid who helped me around. She taught me from her children books and since I loved books she bought some in hiding from my husband so that I can spend my time with them. I have a whole pile I read many times".
He looks at her amused, "It's good to know you didn't let go of yourself even when everyone wanted you to".
"I don't think anyone ever let go of themselves or at least they don't wish to do that but people just never give them a minute for them to consider themselves. When we are not married they want you to marry, when you are married they immediately want you to have children and then when we have children they want you to have more and so on".
"There is no break to people expectation".
She nodded, "That is why there are so many broken and lost souls".
"You have a break now. I don't have anything for you".
"I have to go back. If I allow myself to enjoy this time it will be hard to survive".
"You don't have to go back".
"That's what you think. I can't be a liability to you. I can't risk your life or have you lose anything because of me. I am not worthy of it".
"Yeh toh tumhari soch hai na". He said making her frown, "Hum sub ko apna ap hamesha kam lagta hai per hum yeh nahi samjhty k kisi aur k liye hum un ki poori zindagi ho sakty hai". (That's what you think) (we all degrade ourselves so much but we don't understand that our existence can be someone's whole life)
"Mai tabahi ban sakti ho ap ki". (I can become your disaster)
"Qabool hai. Yeh sub bana kar bhi mujhe dil ka sukoon nahi mil sakha toh is dafa sub kuch gawa kar dekta hoon shayeed kuch behtar mil jaye". (I accept that. I didn't get peace for my heart after building all this, this time I will try losing all of it maybe I will get something better)
"Mere liye?". (For me)
"Hamare liye". (For us)
She heard the bell ringing again and he went to open the door while she starts to munch on another chocolate when an elderly man walked inside slapping her hard before she could even comprehend anything.
"Now you are sleeping around with woman?". The elderly man asked angrily
"I think I told you to never come here and how dare you hit her?". He screamed looking at his father feeling all his senses vanishing in thin air as he saw the painful look in her eyes
"I have taught you well enough how to treat women and yet here you are doing this". His father shouted angrily
"Leave my house right now". He said as his eyes hardened scaring his father
He moves to stand in front of her hiding her away from his father view, "You are the reason I know exactly how to treat women especially the one that means the most to me".
"You are going to lose everything one day".
"It's better than losing the one thing that means the most in this temporary world".
His father glared at him but watching his eyes he immediately left the house.
He turns to her worried, "I am sorry. Does it hurt?. I will-".
"Shouldn't you be worried about your father being mad at you?". She asked concerned as she rubs the place his father had slapped her making a few tears leave her eyes as the pain went through her whole body
His whole stance changes to his usual dark one as she looks at him confused while his next world froze everything around her.
"Why should I care about the man who killed my mother?".
******
Thank you so much for all your concerns about my father and the messages I received were overwhelming😭❤. I couldn't response to each of them because I have been running back and forth between the hospital and my place.
