"You said, wife?". Her father asked confused, "How did you manage to do that?. Did she trap you?".
"Don't speak about her like that. We were married by our elder". He said pulling her back to his side not liking this
Her father shrugged, "I was just thinking how can an orphan girl be the wife of someone like you".
"I get to decide about that. You are not here to taunt my wife or us. What do you want?". He asked angrily
"We decided to give you another chance to this deal but after knowing she is your wife there are no chances". Her father said
"I wouldn't have signed it after knowing about you either". He said as he saw her father walking away
******
He drives his car as they both remained silent in their own world. Mostly, for him, he would look at her from time to time because having her this quiet wasn't helping his worry.
"Leave me at the orphanage". She said
"But-". He started
"I want to stay there today". She said cutting his words
"If you go there, I will come with you". He said
"Why will you?. You shouldn't care like you always don't". She said
******
She stood in front of the orphanage as she did years ago. She remembers how broken she was back then and now she feels like she hasn't actually healed. She just surpassed her own emotions looking them down.
She was an abandoned child.
Someone who was the first child and a girl. But, things changed after her mother died and the new one came in. She was naive and young to know what was happening and how her father changed so much. She has wished her father had abandoned her when she was even younger so she wouldn't have remembered a thing.
She laid on the bed remembering how she begged her father not to leave her on the door of this orphanage but she soon realized that this was an actual blessing but every time it still pains her.
Being abandoned by the ones who were supposed to be your family is never not going to hurt.
Her eyes brimmed with tears as her heart shattered in pieces once again. That face of her father she remembers was still the same, his words were still sharp even when they were few and he was still him. He had moved on and hold no regret then why can't she?.
Why is she so scared of being abandoned and why is that everyone abandons her?. Somehow, she was able to deal with her husband betrayal in this way because she was already abandoned by men in her life. It wasn't new but it sure was hurting every time she was with him and especially near him.
Him pushing her away from him knowing he was close and more. She noticed each of them but she didn't want to think about it.
Slowly with her heartbreaking, her eyes brimmed with even more tears falling down her soft cheeks.
*****
Her eyes hurt and her brain fogged when she feels the bed dipping. She wasn't sure how long she cried but when she cries her brain stops working properly.
She opened her eyes looking at her husband caressing her face cleaning the dry tears away.
"What are you doing here?". She asked her voice hoarsely
He smiled genuinely brushing her hair away from her face," I said if you are here I will be here".
She sat on the bed moving her hair away and looking at him. She holds the pillow from her side placing them in between them.
"What are you doing?". He asked holding her hand before she can put the pillow in
"I am building the wall". She said
He shakes his head moving the pillow away, "It's my job to build the wall and it's your job to always break them".
****
He watched her sleeping peacefully in his arms and after a very long time, he actually feels at home even in this distress. Even when everything is becoming worse it like being with her he seems to forget everything.
He had come right at the moment she walked inside her room but was stopped by Shaima asking to speak to her. She told him she looked the same as she was when she first came in and all about her.
He couldn't believe she would have gone through so much still being strong but he also figured it long ago that she had been covering her pain for years.
Until, the past is back and her facade is gone.

"You have to help me". Zina said pleading while they all sat at the cafe
"Wait, so you are telling me that you liked each other and I had no idea?". She asked
He placed his hand over her shoulder, "Sometimes you are too obvious to things".
"No, I am not". She said crossing her hands over her chest, "I am not helping you".
*******
"You are not serious about not helping them right?". He asked looking at her
She shrugged, "Obviously. But, I wanted to just say that dialogue once".
He laughed shaking his head, "How can you be so cruel?".
"What?. They didn't tell me a thing that is cruel". She argued, "You didn't either so I should be mad at you too. You know what, I am mad".
"What?. No". He said watching her running away from him
*******
She walked into her orphanage smiling at the children finding Shaima.
"You know how much I love you right?". She said hugging Shaima
"What do you want I am very busy". Shaima said
"Can't I want anything?". She asked then sighs, "Fine, I wanted to talk about something".
"Speak then". Shaima said sitting on the couch
"I think the guy you choose for Zina isn't good enough for her". She said clenching her hand, "I have someone who could be better".
"Who is it?". Shaima asked calmly
"He is a friend of my husband. I have met him quite a few time and I think their understanding will match". She said nervously
"Understanding someone doesn't always mean it will last longer". Shaima said
"At least understanding can guarantee a little while being with someone completely different guarantee nothing but only sacrifices and suppression". She said
"You have grown too much, Zaina". Shaima said holding her hand, "Now, I want you to grow for your own relationship".
*****
"She said no". She said hiding her smile looking at the two broken faces who were hopeful while ago
"Stop doing that". Her husband said ruining her plan
"You know I hate you?. You ruined my plan. Keep your flower with yourself. Why do you even give them to me every day?". She ranted frowning
"Does that means she agreed?". Zina asked nervously
"She asked me to ask him to bring his proposal respectfully and she will agree after meeting". She shrugged glaring at her husband who was still smiling
"Thank you, Zaina". Kashif said smiling
She shrugged, "Make sure my best friend stays happy or you will be deal soon".
*******
"What did I do?". He asked pleading
She shrugged, "I don't know but you are acting weird".
He frowned, "What did I do?".
Make my heart skip a beat. She thought
"Stop asking me that question". She said looking down at her book
He turned her book around, "You are reading it wrong unless you master the skill to read it the other way".
She can feel that smile on his face but she didn't want to look at him for her heart safety.
"If you stop disturbing me I will be able to focus better. Don't you have any work?". She asked annoyed
"Wife above work is my new motto". He said proudly
"But why?". She whined
He looked at her face tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear causing her beautiful eyes to look at him, "Because I should have done that long ago and I lost my chance to my own stupidity. But, I still have you and maybe a chance to forgiveness".
"What?". She asked quietly
"I know I was the one who broke your heart the most and ruined your marriage for you. I did everything that I shouldn't have and have you suffer because of me. The days I pushed you away, say things and every time you were with me was suffering for you. I know I hurt you and I want to apologise for my actions. I just need this month to have you believe in us, please". He said softly
"You have a month then. In case you don't know I am leaving for the next month to live with Zina in our orphanage". She said hiding her smile when she saw his reaction
"What?. No way. How am I going to do anything in their wedding functions and you there!?". He asked himself
"You think. I am going to sleep". She said smiling to herself
******
She walked inside with her bags after saying goodbye to her whining husband. It was like he turned into her this time.
But, after struggles, she ran into the orphanage closing the door on his face with a satisfied smile. She wasn't going to allow anyone to take her away from her best friend wedding.
"Yeah, I am working hard even when you didn't tell me that you liked him". She said as she saw her coming down
Zina sighs, "You are never going to let that go".
She nodded vigorously, "I will never. Instead, that's the first thing I am telling your child about".
"Oh God, I should ask your husband to take you back". Zina said groaning
"Don't even think about it. This time I closed the door of the orphanage on his face next time I might just close him in his closet. That's big enough for him". She said
Zina eyes widen, "You closed the door on his face?. What if he is angry?".
"He wouldn't be. Trust me". She said shrugging
"You are one weird couple". Zina said
"Normal is boring". She said smiling, "Let's go buy lights".
*****
"She closed a door on your face and you are here buying her a dress?". Kashif said, "This was my wedding shopping, not yours".
"Stop whining". He said looking through the racks," What's the matter with closing door?".
"You all might have a door closed on his face and still smiling is a change I like". Kashif said shrugging
"Whatever". He said
"Wait! Isn't that the man who we saw when we followed our ladies in the mall?". Kashif said looking at the same man
His eyes turned towards the same direction immediately and narrowed on the man.
"I didn't get to kill him that time I think I might as well now". Zuhair said angrily taking a stride
"No, look". Kashif said stopping him
He looked at him waiting for someone and then a girl appeared in front of him who he said something only to receive a slap that had him gasp too.
"Did she reject him?. He looks heartbroken". Kashif said
He shrugged, "Why should I care?. He said things to my wife".
"Well, you weren't actually thinking of her as your wife back then so let's just ask". Kashif said walking away
His heart clenched.
The thought that he treated her bad will always be his biggest regret.
Regrets are hard to wash away even after forgiven by others.
*******
"So, you are saying the day you harassed my wife you found that woman and fell for her. Now, she just used you and broke your heart?". He said smiling only to be nudged by Kashif not to do that
"Yes, I think it's because I used to be bad to other women". The man- Ali said sadly, "I am sorry about what I did with your wife".
"Yeah, at least you know you did bad". He said
*******
"I am going to help around". He said looking at Shaima who nodded opening the door for him
"Now I know why you weren't angry about her closing the door. You knew Shaima will open it for you". Kashif said
"You are just too plain sometimes, my friend. I wonder if you actually scored a position or what". He said shrugging," The groom isn't allowed in the house so bye".
He pushed Kashif out closing a door on his face smiling.
"You both are same". He heard someone say causing him to scream a little
He turned around looking at Shaima confused, "Who?".
"You and your wife. You are both the same". She said
"Oh". He said smiling, "That's good. Can you please not open the door for him?".
She nodded smiling walking away.
*******
She looked around to the side she had already covered in lights smiling to herself.
She turned around wrapping herself in the light smiling to herself. She always loves light. It was one of the things she always liked.
"Lights looks beautiful on you". She heard his voice
She turned around tripping on the wire almost falling but he immediately holds her hand pulling her to himself wrapping his arms around her securely.
"But, these lights are for the house". He added smiling
She shrugged, "I can do anything with them".
"I know you can. You can do all the impossible like moving my heart". He said softly caressing her cheeks
"You know I have to do work and you are not helping". She said enjoying his touch
"I can help to take you out of these". He said taking a step back taking the wire of her, "Then, placing them around the place".
She watched as he worked in her place just like how she wanted even after her taking out mistakes at each point. He didn't say anything instead do his work as she asked him to.
******
"We have Mehdi (Heena) today". She said to her friend as they laid in their bed, "In next three days you will be away from here and into a new life".
"Did you forgive your husband?". Zina asked
She shrugged, "As you said, I have already fallen for him hard that I wasn't even angry at him for anything. I was taking his actions and words like nothing. Obviously, my father sudden appearance had me weak but he was there for me. I couldn't have been mad at him. I just wanted to see his dedication".
"Have you seen it now?". Zina asked
"I have. Maybe I will tell him tomorrow". She replied smiling
*****
She twirls around in the green dress that she bought with Zina the other day, especially for today event. It had been so long that she was waiting for this moment. She smiles looking at herself in the mirror.
"Beautiful". She heard his voice halting her
She turned around looking at him standing in a distance but still her heart feel the tingle she had been feeling for a while.
It's been almost a month for him and he hadn't been able to have her heart. It scared him when he came here because in just three days he could lose her forever and that thought was scary.
She grinned, "I know. Wait! What are you doing here and how did you get in?. This is a woman function".
He smirked making her heart skip a beat as he took steps near her, "I jumped into your house and then climbed to your terrace. Here I am".
She rolled her eyes ignoring how close he was, "So much trouble for what?".
"To look at your beautiful face before anyone else could". He replied pulling her towards him, "You look beautiful. I wonder how you will look in the dress I bought you for the wedding day".
She shrugged, "We would have to see that after one days".
He groaned, "That's the torture".
"Zaina, everyone is calling you downstairs". She heard someone yell
Her eyes widen as she tried to push him away but he just wouldn't move an inch. She frowned looking at him and his eyes reflecting pain.
"Will you write my name in your henna?". He asked genuinely holding her hand and kissing the back of it
"Maybe". She said softly
******
"You wrote his name". Zina said sitting beside her friend looking at the people around
"I told you I will tell him tomorrow". She replied
"He looked lost today. I wasn't able to see much but even when he was organising the function I briefly had an encounter and he looked bad". Zina said, "You know not everyone deserves forgiveness or second chances. But, those who our heart agree and actually acknowledge their own mistakes and repent for it deserves it".
"Now some of your words actually make sense to me". Zaina laughed
"You are lucky I can't use my hands on you". Zina said narrowing her eyes, "But, I wish to see your glowing face on my wedding".
"Don't worry about me". She said smiling
*****
She sat down on her bed after a long day. To deal with everyone could be pretty tiring and she had taken the responsibility of all it.
She closed her eyes relaxing her mind for some time but when she does all she saw was her husband face.
"Are you tired?". She heard his voice but still, she remained as she was just nodding her head
"You should sleep then". He said sitting in front of her
She forwards her hand groaning, "This needs to dry well".
"Why?". He asked looking down at her hands causing his heartbeat to rise
"Because it needs to be dark". She replied
"For me to love you". He started smiling, "But I already love you".
Her heart stopped.
She looked in his eyes and as much as she wanted to say the words back, she didn't.
"Did you write my name?". He asked ignoring the hurt he felt by her not speaking
She grinned, "Maybe".
"Come on, tell me". He said trying to find his name
"No, maybe tomorrow. I want to sleep". She said softly
"Fine. Sleep well and I will see you tomorrow". He said smiling

Today was Zina and Kashif nikkah. They were both excited and worried about their new journey but to be able to have one another was much more enjoyable.
She wore a simple white dress walking downstairs to head towards the mosque they were supposed to have their nikkah. She doesn't remember much of her own Nikkah because she wasn't actually enjoying anything.
She reached the venue and everyone moved inside while she looked around to find her own husband. She took steps around the mosque trying to find him but there was no sign. She briefly wondered if she had taken too long to accept him and he had given up on her but she knew better. He wasn't the one who would do that.
She moved to the backside of where the Nikkah suppose to be done which was just an empty room now since everyone was already inside. She moved around calling his number which he didn't answer.
"Looking for me?". She heard him say
She turned around immediately narrowing her eyes at him, "It's not funny. You know what?. I am really mad at you why didn't you come and receive us when we reached or even looked for me?. I called you but you didn't even answer my calls. I was going to tell you that I forgive you long back and I loved you too. But, I-".
His eyes widen as he looked at her before she could rant further he pulled her to him hugging her tightly.
"You forgive me". He said as tears brimmed his eyes, "And you love me".
She smiled nodding.
He pulled back looking at her smiling, "Say it".
"Do you Zina Mustafa take Kashif Ibrahim as you husband?". The Qazi asked
"I do". Zaina said looking at him
"Do you?". Qazi asked again
She nodded, "I do".
"Do you?". Qazi asked
"Yes, I do". She replied
Tears fell down their faces as they repeated their vows again.
*******
"Your husband choice is pretty good". Zina said
"Obviously, I am his choice". She said shrugging enjoying her red lehenga
"I cannot believe you two actually manage to find some common ground". Zina said shaking her head laughing
"It's weird, isn't it?". She said chuckling, "All we wanted to do was murder each other yet here we are".
"Love does make you crazy". Zina said
"It does". She said smiling
******
He waited patiently for her to enter the hall with Zina but he couldn't believe that he had won her heart. His heart still races each time he thinks about losing her. He had made sure to never hurt her again.
He watched her taking steps towards him and their eyes on each other. Their heart racing at the same pace and she leaves Zina hand to Kashif moving back to stand with her husband.
He holds her hand as he looked at his friend happy and beaming at his wife.
He could also see his own wife glowing face after years. In a way, he was glad that her father showed up because of him many things got sorted. The brief interaction with her past had made her heal in a better way. She healed herself with him.
Now, their loved healed each other wound.
While Zina was able to find a happiness she had always dreamed of. Someone who would make her better and understand her. Kashif couldn't have asked for someone better and he knew from the start she was the one.
Our heart always knows the best.
That was them.
Zaina and Zuhair
Zina and Kashif
The End.
