"But Metapod," Ash said as we ran away from the swarm of Beedrill chasing us.

"They're gaining on us," Misty said, worried as we turned to the left behind a bush, making the swarm go right passed us.

"That was close," Cody said, letting go of Ash's arm and looking at the Beedrill flying passed us.

The four of us then let out a sigh of relief. We then turned to see a hive of Kakuna gathered near a large tree.

"A whole hive of Kakuna," Samurai breathed out.

Misty let out a small gasp of fright before Cody covered her mouth with his hand.

"We don't want anymore Beedrill to hear us and find where we are," Cody reminded are bug hating friend, who nodded with nervous sweat. The thought of more bugs was enough to motivate her to keep quiet. With that out of the way, he removed his hand and pulled out his pokedex along with Ash.

"Kakuna, a transitional stage between Weedle and Beedrill. Kakuna remains inactive until they evolve into deadly Beedrill and hatch," Dexter explained.

Ash's voice loudly caught everyone's attention when he spotted something."Hey, it's Metapod!" Ash cheered before Misty covered his mouth as Cody did with her earlier.

"Weren't you listening? Keep your voice down," She whispered.

Unfortunately, The Kakuna started to turn their attention to where we were. Then there was a cracking noise as the Kakuna shells all started to open.

My eye widened at sight started to look at them nervously. "Oh no. Don't tell me...''

The cracks became bigger as fully evolved Beedrill emerged from their Kakuna shells one by one. They turned their attention to our Pokemon and us. Pretty soon, the chase was on again, and to make matters worse, we were still tired from having to flee the first time, so the bug types were catching up faster than the first group.

When a wooden cabin came into view, Samurai caught our attention. "That's my cabin! I think we can make it!"

As soon as we made it inside, they slammed and shut the door. A couple of Beedrill had rammed their stingers right through the door. Were they going to break the door down? The tension in the air was thick. After the Beedrill then pulled themselves loose from the door, the bug types all seemed to stop their assault, but they were still hovering outside.

The worst was over, so Ash let out the breath of air he was holding. "That was close," he muttered.

"Yeah, too close," I agreed, almost forgetting how hostile Beedrill could be. I haven't been around too many wild Beedrill.

"I hope you've learned your lesson, Novice. You allowing that Weedle escape almost cost us our lives," Samurai said.

"Take that back, that novice crack!" Ash demanded, feeling absolutely sick of hearing the samurai trainer insulting him.

"I do take it back," Samurai retorted. "Because not even novice would abandon his own pokemon as you did."

Ash turned his head away, trying to contain his anger."I tried to save Metapod," Ash muttered. His body shook in rage at the accusation of abandoning his Metapod.

"That kind of harsh he didn't abandon his Metapod," I said, defending Ash.

"Well, to be honest, sister, he kind of did not return it to safety," Cody stated.

"He right. A smart trainer would return their pokemon safely to their Pokeball when they saw and heard a Beedrill swarm," Samurai argued before turning back to face Ash."Your Metapod will pay dearly for your inexperience," He continued to scold and belittle Ash."The other trainers from Pallet would never have been so irresponsible."

"Other trainers from Pallet," Ash said."Have you fought Pokemon matches against Gary and the others?" Ash asked inquisitively.

"Ah, there were three spectacular matches, each more challenging than the last" Samurai beamed at the memories of his battles. "Those trainers really knew how to raise Pokemon. Even though I lost all three times, I was inspired to redouble my own training. I have been eagerly preparing for the day when I would finally beat the next trainer from Pallet. I had been informed by the third trainer that there was one more trainer from Pallet left before continuing to search for a pokemon she wanted to catch."

"So that's why you were looking for Ash," Misty realized.

"It did seem a little odd that he wanted to battle someone specifically from Pallet town, didn't it," Cody said, thinking about his encounter with the boy after I left to get me a new Pokemon.

"Compared to those other three, Novice here is a joke," He mocked once again.

Ash just growled and looked away in anger. He wanted so badly to tell the trainer off, to prove that he was no joke. Sadly, there was no time for that: it was getting late, so the best they all could do was go to sleep and wait until morning to do anything.

As everyone was falling asleep, I noticed, however, Ash was still awake with his mind filled with worry for his Metapod.

The next morning...

I opened my eyes, taking in my surroundings, a little confused about where I was for a few minutes. Then I remembered the Beedrill yesterday.

I sat up with Kitsune still sleeping next to me. I then noticed that Ash was missing and turned to face her brother, who was awake as well.

"Hey, where, Ash?" I asked, looking at my brother, who was sitting next to me.

"No clue. I wake the others take Kitsune, and find him. Just be careful," Cody said.

"Right," I said, picking up Kitsune and quietly headed off to search for Ash.

I was walking through the forest, heading towards the direction of where I recalled the beedrill hive being since Ash must have gone to get his Metapod back from the hive.

As I was heading closer in that direction. I heard a familiar voice. "You know what my favorite game is?" The voice I recognized as Meowth said.

"Meowth, then my sister much be nearby," I said quietly."Speaking of Meowth, I believe that was her partner when she joined Pokemon tech after our mother old boss paid for her to enroll. However, t didn't talk, so it must be a different one."

"Scratch and sniffle," Meowth answered as ingot a bit closer and saw him scratch Ash's face.

"Guess who," Another familiar voice said.

I sighed as they began to say the motto, annoying Ash as he tried to warn them about the Beedrill.

"Keep it down before you wake up the Beedrill," Ash whispered nervously. However, they continued doing the motto waking up the Beedrill, preparing in the air to attack.

'Not good those Beedrill could attack at anymore.'

"Little boy, why don't you hand over your Pikachu," My sister mocked."There is no point in resisting, so be smart and hand over your Pokemon."

Pikachu is not here, and even if it were, I would never hand over my Pokemon to you!" Ash yelled before making a run for it, focusing on getting Metapod.

"Get back here!" Jessie and James yelled as he ran after Ash.

I shook my hand with my sister, and they followed Ash and the Beedrill swarm up ahead. As the Beedrill readied the attack, Ash made a last-minute dive for the ground rolling right below them and their stingers. I facepalm seeing them trying to use a paper tank for protection.

"Kitsune, use swift and protect my sister!" I commanded.

"Vulpix!" Kitsune cried out, knocking the Beedrill swarm away from them, and Ash.

"Get out of here, sister, but I haven't given up on you," I said. "I get you to come back one day, but now is not the time to chat with angry Beedrill," I continued as the Beedrill swarm was working on getting back out as Ash tried to return his Metapod.

"Samantha?" Ash said, confused, noticing me as he picked up Metapod.

Jessie stared at me with a slight hint of emotion in her eyes before going blank again.

"Just go, you two, Ash, catch up," I called out as I looked at him."See you again another time," I said, running after Ash hoping my sister was going to leave as the Beedrill got up going, after Ash as two followed me, causing me to go in a different direction.

"Kitsune, knock them out with Ember!" I commanded. "We have to help Ash and possibly my sister If she is still near the large swarm."

"Vul, pix!" Kitsune cried out, shooting flames out of her mouth, hitting one of Beedrill as the other one dodged and charged in for another attack.

"Growlithe flamethrower!" A male voice commanded.

The powerful flame of fire hit the beedrill, knocking it out and falling next to the other Beedrill, before a Pokeball hit it, catching it.

"You should be more careful around a Beedrill hive," A voice said.

I then saw a boy around my age with brown skin and mid-length purple hair with a strand hanging over the middle of his face. He had dark brown eyes. He wore a dark purple vest with navy blue sleeves and a Pokeball logo, a blue long sleeve undershirt, dark purple capris, and purple and navy shoes with white soles.

"After all, everyone knows Beedrill can be pretty aggressive," He said, scanning the Pokeball with his Beedrill inside. "Wow, swords dance a strong Beedrill indeed."

"Yeah, I know my friend upset them. Also, thanks, um..." I said, not knowing his name.

"The name Paul," He replied, walking, sending me one more glance.

"Kitsune, come on," I said, leaving the remaining Beedrill and finding Ash where I arrived in time to see Ash's Metapod to evolve into Butterfree.

"Cool," I said, walking over towards them, making my presence known.

Ash took out his pokedex for more information on his new Butterfree.

"Butterfree, one week after Caterpie evolves, It evolves again into Metapod; it again evolves into Butterfree."

Butterfree flew back down and fluttered around its trainer happily, having forgiven him. "Free free... Free free..."

However, not even a second later, a familiar buzzing noise made its way to us.

"Oh no, it's the Beedrills again," Cody realized, hearing the Beedrill return.

Ash had a nervous look on his face as the Beedrill swarm flew closer, until Butterfree's voice got his attention. As he looked at his Pokemon, an idea came to him. "Butterfree, knock 'em out with sleep powder!" Ash instructed.

The butterfly Pokemon started to fly higher into the air, above the swarm, scattering a glittering powder as it flew. One by one, the poison-bee Pokemon fell to the ground. The powder put them all into slumber, as well as Team Rocket, who was still here for some reason.

Once everybody was safe again, Ash began to jump up and down in glee. "YAY! You put them all to sleep! Butterfree, you're the best!"

"You were able to handle your Butterfree so well after it just evolved. Most impressive," Samurai commented.

Afterward, Samurai led us down the path until we got to a clearing. "This trail will lead you to Pewter City," He explained

"Before we leave, Samurai, we still have to finish our match,"Ash reminded the trainer.

Samurai, however, disagreed. "Compared with you, I am the novice. Compared with both of you, in fact," he stated to both of the twins. "But I will keep perfecting my technique, and one day. We will meet again."

"I'm sure they will be most spectacular matches," Ash commented.

"Just don't match Metapod vs. Metapod again," Misty advised.

"Yes, don't ever do that again. That was a nightmare to watch, but at least my sister and I got a new pokemon," Cody commented.

With our final goodbyes, we depart from Samurai and the forest, heading straight for Pewter City and their next adventure.
