Samatha's P.O.V

"AAAAHHHH!"

I sighed as I heard Misty scream again as we continued walking through the forest.

"Vul..." Kitsune, my Vulpix, sighed while looking at Misty boredly from her position in my arms.

"What's the matter now?" Ash asked from beside me, looking over his shoulder who was hugging a tree and pointing behind her.

"I think I see another bug!" She said. "Gross!"

Ash and I sighed and looked at her. "Uh, Misty, look around. We are inside a forest," I sated. "So, of course, there will be bugs."

"Yeah, will you keep screaming and whining about every bug Pokemon you see?" Ash asked as he placed his hands on his hips.

"Yes!" Misty said, climbing off the tree and quickly hiding behind my brother Cody before pointing in the direction, "Over there."

Ash, I, and Cody followed her gaze to see there was yellow a worm Pokémon, by the name of Weedle, was crawling on the ground. "A Weedle!" Ash said and then took out his Pokédex.

"Weedle, the Hairy bug Pokemon. The stinger on this Pokémon's head guarantees that an attacker will get the point right where it hurts."

"A stinger, huh? Now there is a challenge," Ash said.

"Why are you so excited about a bug with a stinger? Make it go away!" Misty said from her hiding place behind Cody.

"Well, if you're going to catch it, I might go look around for a Pokemon to catch myself," I said.

"Vulpix!" Kitsune agreed, hopping out of my arms.

"Alright, just don't be gone too long. I doubt it take long for him to catch a Weedle," Cody stated. "I come find you if you're gone for too long."

"Yeah, got it," I chuckled, heading off with Kitsune walking by my side.

After a while of walking further along through the forest, Kitsune nudged my leg, getting my attention.

"Hey Kitsune, what's up?" I asked, looking down at her, wondering why she wanted my attention.

"Vulpix," Kitsune lifted her paw and pointed in a direction.

I followed her paw and spotted a Pokemon covered by blue, seaweed-like vines that obscure its face. There is a small opening in the vines that reveals its eyes surrounded by black space. Its feet resemble red boots.

'That's quite the Pokemon.' I thought, pointing my pokedex at it.

"Tangela, the vine Pokemon. A grass-type Pokemon. Masses of thick blue vines obscure its identity. The vines are said never to stop growing."

"Interesting, let's catch a Tangela Kitsune," I said, putting away my pokedex.

"Vul, pix!" Kitsune said, getting ready to battle and gaining the Tangela's attention.

"Tangela?" Tangela said, looking at Kitsune and me curiously.

"Alright, Kitsune, start off with an ember!"

"Vulpix!" Kitsune cried out, using Ember on Tangela, who jumped up, avoiding the attack.

"Not bad," I muttered. "Get closer and then use ember again!"

Kitsune nodded and ran towards Tangela before using Ember and hitting it this time. Tangela stood up, shaking off the attack, before shooting a vine at Kitsune, smacking her.

"Kitsune, quick attack, and then go for another Ember!"

"Vulpix!" Kitsune cried out, charging at Tangela with full speed knocking it back, before using Ember and knocking it out.

"Alright, Pokeball, go!" I said, throwing a Pokeball at Tangela.

The Pokeball shook three times until it clicked, signaling that Tangela was caught.

"I caught a Tangela amazing!" I cheered with a slight smile picking up the Pokeball. "Alright, now come on, Kitsune, let's go meet up with the others."

Kitsune nodded after pausing for a minute to look back at the bushes. I raised an eyebrow, wondering what that was all about until she started following me again.

'I wonder what that was all about?' I thought as I looked back at the bushes behind me one more time before entirely focusing my attention on meeting back up with the others.

I finally arrived back where the others were waiting and noticed Ash and a boy dressed up as Samurai battling each using Metapod.

"Hey, who is this boy, and how long were they fighting using Metapod?" I asked, walking over to my brother Cody.

"He was some who showed up challenging trainers from Pallet Town after you left," Cody replied. "And I don't know for sure how long it been left to catch something myself, but I came back about ten minutes ago."

"I see. What did you catch?" I asked.

"Vul, pix," Kitsune said, curious as well.

"I ended finding myself a really cool-looking Nidoran male different from his pokedex color. I will show you later," Cody told me with a smirk on his face. "You find anything good to catch?" He asked.

"Yeah, It was a lovely grass-type Pokemon thinking of a name for it still," I said, showing him Tangela in my Pokedex.

"Hm, a Tangela, and your pokedex says you caught a male. How about the name Rosewood or Ceaser?" He asked with a shrug of his shoulders.

"Vulpix!"

"You think I should pick one of those names?" I asked Kitsune as I tuned out Ash and the other guys' tedious battle.

"Vulpix."

"Alright, I think about it."

"Man, this is so dumb," Cody sighed, looking at Ash and the Samurai dude before turning towards the direction I came from.

I followed his gaze and noticed a boy around my age with purple hair in the bushes watching us and looking at Ash rolling his eyes, then back and me for a couple of minutes before he walked back off.

"Hm," Cody hummed, looking at where the boy just was confused, then back at me. "Who was that?" He asked.

I shrugged, not sure who that guy was at all. "I don't know."

"You two are more hard-headed than your Metapod!" Misty shouted, gaining are attention.

A buzzing sound was then heard, and we turned around to see a swarm of Beedrill heading towards, causing Ash to take out his pokedex, scanning it as the Samurai ran off.

"Come on, Ash," Cody called out, grabbing Ash's head as he ran off, signaling me to follow as one of the Beedrill took Ash's Metapod.
