Chapter 1: The Journey Begins Now!
Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon or its characters. I only own the story plot and my Oc's in the story. This is also a rewrite of Samantha's journey series. It starts out in Kanto with changes to my characters and more information on their past.
With that out of the way, enjoy the chapter!

Late at night, inside of a small, poor, condition house located on the outskirts of Viridian City was a set of two ten-year-old Twins who tomorrow would be setting off on their journey through the Kanto region to achieve their dreams. Their names were Cody and Samatha Andrews.
In Kanto, Pokemon trainer begins their journey when they reach their tenth birthday, as they had, and that's when they get the chance to become a trainer and receive a Pokemon training license. Then receive their first Pokemon from Professor Oak.
A young ten-year-old boy with short light purple hair walked inside of a room with purple walls, black bedroom furniture, and a bed with a blanket with Eevee on it. Under the blanket was his twin sister Samatha.
Samantha has long red hair tied up into a ponytail and beautiful blue eyes. She was lying down in her bed reading a book. "Yes, Cody?" She asked, not looking up from her book.
"What Pokemon do you planning on choosing tomorrow?" Cody asked, leaning against the bedroom door.
Samantha closed her book as her mind was reminded of tomorrow being the day she and her brother could get a starter Pokemon. She almost forgot because she had thought much about her journey since losing the only family they had left after the death of their mother, leaving them in this poor house alone, with only the sound of the Pokemon that live nearby.
"I don't know, Cody. I haven't thought about going on a journey since big sister Jessica left. All I have thought about was finding her and bringing her back home."
Cody sighed and shook his head. "I know you miss her. I do too, but you won't find her sitting here. We find her together along with our Pokemon. Plus, she wouldn't want you to give up on your dream because of her."
Samantha smiled at her twin brother's words. "Cody, you might not always be the best at cheering people up with words, but that wasn't too bad. I feel better now. Tomorrow the two of us will get our Pokemon and leave for a journey."
"Good, just know that I plan on picking Chamander," Cody said. "Well, goodnight. See you in the morning. I had already packed both of us a bag and placed them in the living room. I wasn't going to be leaving without you even if you decided not to go." He said, getting ready to walk out of the room.
"Alright, see you in the morning, Samantha said, turning her Eevee lamp off. It was a lamp given to her by her sister back when she was still around.
"Yeah, good night. Love you, Anna."
"Love you too, future, Mr. Hotshot."
"Just because I believe I will become champion does make me a hotshot," He muttered, walking out of the room. Samantha chuckled as her brother walked off, muttering to himself before she drifted off to sleep.

The following day Samantha woke up to sunlight shining on her face through the window. She let out a yawn as she got out of bed, and headed to the bathroom to prepare for the day.
After showering, brushing her teeth, and washing her face, she was now wearing a purple sleeveless vest over a dark blue shirt, red jeans, and black and white sneakers. Looking in the mirror, she quickly brushed away the bed hair and smiled once she was done. She was not officially ready to get her Pokemon along with Cody.
She headed downstairs to see her twin brother Cody sitting down in the living room. That seriously needed new furniture. He wore a short-sleeve red shirt with blue shorts that covered his knees. He also had on black armbands and green boots. Next to him was a grey backpack with Dragonite on it, as well as a black bag with a big red R on it.
"When we get back after getting our Pokemon from Professor Oak. We come back and grab our backpacks. Your belongings are located in mom's old bag that was found after the day of her death," Cody said, standing up from the couch.
"Understand, brother; speaking of that, I wonder if her old Pokemon pokeballs are in there," Samatha said as they walked towards the door.
"They might be with the man who brought the bag here after telling us she died," Cody replied as the twins walked outside of the house.
The two walked away from their house towards a path leading nearby to Route one and Pallet town. Their home was pretty located in Viridian City but close to Route one.
"Sometimes I forget we live right next to Route 1, away from everyone else. I guess that makes sense. Momm was a part of Team Rocket but was noticeable because when not working,g her clothes were casual and had her style different," Samatha said.
"True," Cody said as they were about to walk onto the path leading to Route but ended up stopping hearing someone call out to them.
"Both of you wait on up!" A voice called out to them.
The twins turned around to see a familiar old man wearing a white lab coat over a red shirt and some beige pants. He was also carrying a briefcase.
"Professor Oak?" Cody and Samantha said, confused about what he was doing here. "What are you doing here?" They asked.
"I came here to give you your Pokemon. Instead of you traveling to me, I brought them to you, "Professor Oak said. "I actually have only had extra Charmander I had in the lab left it hatched along with the other one. Three trainers from Pallet town already took the original three set out. While the fourth trainer from Pallet hadn't shown up yet."
"Wait, what does that mean for Samantha since I was hoping to get Chamander?" Cody asked.
"Don't worry. I have another Pokemon. It's just not your ordinary starter. I usually prepare extra Pokemon if more than three people are starting their journey the same day," Professor Oak replied.
"Okay, then Chamander is yours since you want chamander. The other one mine besides I didn't even know which starter I wanted," Samantha said.
"Alright then, I take the Charmander, please," Cody said.
"Okay," Professor Oak said, opening the briefcase." Here is Chamander Pokeball," he said, handing Cody the Pokeball with Chamander inside of it.
Cody held the Pokeball overjoyed, having the starter he wanted the most. "Alright, come on out, Chamander," He pressed the button for the Pokeball to open.
The Pokeball opened, and Chamander materialized on the ground in front of him.
"Char," The Charmander said. Cody kneeled to Charmander's eye level. "My name is Cody, and I'm your new trainer. Together we're going to become the world's greatest Pokemon champion," He said, smiling at Chamander. Chamander cheered its name, puffing out its chest showing confidence.
"That Chamander is a male," Professor Oak informed Cody.
"Understand," Cody said.
"Now Sam, your Pokemon is right here," Professor Oak said, grabbing the other Pokeball.
"Okay," She said, holding out her hand for the Pokeball as Professor Oak headed it to her. She looked at the Pokeball, wondering what was inside, before pressing the ball to open it.
The Pokeball opened, and a red fox materialized on the ground in front of her.
"Vul," The small fox said, looking around until its eyes stopped on Samantha. Samantha kneeled and looked at her new cute Pokemon. "Hello, there. My name is Samantha, your new trainer. I hope the two of us become good pals," She smiled. The fox cheered in its own language.
"Vulpix here is a female. I believe she was a better suit for you than then the other starters anyway," Professor Oak said.
"Thank you. I think she is beautiful," Samantha said.
Professor Oak then grabbed some other items from the briefcase. He then handed Sam and Cody some pokeballs and both of them a Pokedex. One was red, and the other one was purple. "This Pokedex will allow you to record data of the Pokemon you encounter and catch," Professor Oak informed them.
"Thank you, Professor," Cody and Sam both said.
"You're welcome now. I better get going and see if the last trainer shows up. Have now only one extra Pokemon left for him," Professor Oak said, walking off.
"Want to grab our bags then head to Route 1 to see what Pokemon we can find before heading off to the next city?" Cody asked.
"Sounds good. We will need to buy a map through," Samantha stated.
Cody nodded, and the twins headed back towards their house, returning their new starters, and went inside.

Samantha grabbed her back bag that was sitting next to Cody's grey Dragonite one. She looked upstairs and decided she would do something first before heading on out.
"I will be right back. Need to do something real quick," Samantha said.
"Alright, " Cody replied, understanding what she was probably going upstairs to do.
Samantha headed upstairs and opened the door to the bedroom next door to her. She walked inside the room to see painted pink walls, brown bedroom furniture, and a bed with a blanket with flowers on it.
'Big sister Jessica today I will be leaving on my Pokemon. I wish you were here to watch me on my journey to become a member of the Elite Four and find the type I want to specialize in. Yet I haven't given up hope I will find you and bring you home so you can watch me and Cody achieve our dreams.' She thought, walking around the room.
"Hey, what is that?" She asked, spotting an unfamiliar white ball with a red around the button. "What kind of Pokeball is this. I have never seen it before must be from one of the other regions she had gone to before she suddenly disappeared," she muttered, picking up the Pokeball.
"Cody!" Samantha called out while heading back downstairs after closing Jessie's bedroom door.
"Yeah, Anna, ready to go now that you finish your internal conversation with big sister Jessie?" Cody asked.
"Yeah, through I found this strange Pokeball," she said, holding up the Pokeball she found.
"I had never seen that Pokeball before," Cody said, just as confused about the strange Pokeball.
"Yeah, me either must not be made in Kanto or just not in the stores," Samantha said. "Wonder what inside?" She said, looking at the Pokeball.
"Don't know, for now, just put it in your bag. We figure out about it later. Let's catch us some Pokemon!" Cody said.
Samantha nodded and put the Pokeball in one of the side pockets of her bag. Once that settled, the twins left the house and headed to route 1 to see what Pokemon they could find before heading off to the next town.
