Death
Chapter Three - Death
As soon as Antioch's foot hit the bridge, he knew something was wrong. The bridge felt slightly unstable, like something was pushing against his brother's magic.
Still, he stepped carefully over the bridge, placing one foot in front of the other as if the sturdy bridge could collapse any second.
His fears were only confirmed when a dark figure appeared on the bridge before them. The figure hadn't been there before, and Antioch hadn't heard the distinct sound of Apparating. That meant, well Antioch wasn't quite sure what it meant, but he knew it wasn't good.
The figure rose to its full height, standing at about seven feet tall, making it a good foot taller than Antioch. Antioch scowled and strode forward as swiftly as he could for fear of slipping and falling off of the bridge.
The figure lowered its shadowy hood, and the three wizards took a step back in fear. In place of a face was a void of black, looking much like a dementor's aura. All the warmth in the area seemed to be sucked into the creature's maw. It wasn't cold as a winter snow was cold, but as a body is, stiff with rigor mortis. It wasn't cold as an ice cream is on a warm evening, but as a dreary morning is, swirling with dense fog.
Antioch stepped forward.
"Can I help you?"
AN: Who said it?? You are going to have to wait until next week to find out.
Ok: Whoever answers this question correctly first gets the next chapter dedicated to them (And no cheating by looking at the book): What chess piece did Hermione Granger take the place of in the giant chess set? Bonus: What move did Harry make to end the game?
