Chapter 2
Three months later, it was Christmas season in Northern Arizona Where three girls were going to have a very special Christmas. Kayla was sitting on her window seat and watching the snowflakes flying in the sky from her window. She was so excited about celebrating Christmas with her three friends. She turned her head around and saw her friends walking into her bedroom. She got up from her window seat and joined her friends to go to the kitchen to make Christmas cookies. Ikaika and Evelyn were setting up the kitchen to make cookies and hot chocolate. Kayla and Kate start making the cookie dough while Rosa was helping Evelyn with making hot chocolate. Kayla walked out of the kitchen after her friends started telling Ikaika and Evelyn about their family's holiday traditions. Kayla walked into the living room where the Christmas tree was fully decorated and pictures of my parents, Kate's parents, and Rosa's parents on top of the fireplace. Kayla grabbed the picture of her parents and sat down on the couch. She never has a Christmas or Christmas tradition without remembering any Christmas memories. She was the youngest in her small friend group who has no Christmas or Christmas tradition. She felt so alone without any memories of her parents to make her start letting tears down her face since she lost her parents. Ikaika walked out of the kitchen to find Kayla being tears in holding the picture of her parents. She never saw Kayla sad since she lost her parents from a very young age. Ikaika walked towards the couch and sat down next to Kayla. Ikaika grabbed her phone and got pictures of her and Kayla's mother on her phone. She shows the pictures on her phone to Kayla.
"Kayla, I want to tell you something about your mother, Alisha. Alisha was a great friend and almost the best archer in Shield. She was born here in Northern Arizona in a family who were agents for Shield. I met your mother when we attended the Shield Academy during our first year at the academy. She was the very best student at the Shield Academy who worked hard to have great grades and being the best fighter in defense class. She was the best archer in archery class and she graduated from the Shield Academy early. She was the first young agent in Shield and she went on so many missions. She started a relationship with your father here in Northern Arizona. It was after they first met when they were looking for a future location for future Shield Headquarters. Your father was from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in a huge family who had family members who were agents for Shield. Your parents have a very long relationship with being agents for Shield. They finally got married in the most amazing and beautiful wedding in Sedona. I was one of the bridesmaids who was there for my best friend. I haven't heard from Alisha for years since the wedding, until I came here to the safe house after hearing about your parents dropping off their youngest daughter before leaving for their last mission. Me and Evelyn set up your new room for you after getting a long phone call from Alisha. For now, I could tell you that your parents did give me their Christmas tradition for being lit a candle on Christmas Eve in remembering family members who were not with us. We could do it on Christmas Eve to share your parents' Christmas tradition together as one big family." Ikaika said to Kayla.
Kayla listened to Ikaika telling her about her parents while she was looking at the picture of her parents. She looks up at Ikaika after listening to her talk about her parents.
"Davis, I'm happy to know about my parents and knowing I have a family Christmas tradition. I felt closer to my parents to know about them." Kayla said to Ikaika.
Ikaika hugged Kayla and helped her to get the picture back on top of the fireplace. They walked back into the kitchen and they joined in holiday festivities. Kayla enjoyed learning about Kate and Rosa's traditions while they were frosting cookies. Rosa looked at Kayla and Kate while she grabbed her phone to show pictures from her Christmas before things change in her life.
"Me and my parents used to celebrate Navidad by singing Spanish Christmas songs to the neighbors, giving gifts to the neighborhood kids, and having a huge Navidad dinner with the neighbors. I remember my family hosted a huge family Navidad Christmas party when I was 4 years old. I was walking into the kitchen to grab more cookies before hearing yelling from the living room. I went to my favorite hiding place and stayed there until the yell stopped only to hear silence. I got out of my favorite hiding place to find my mother sitting on the couch with tears going down her face. I started to feel like something trouble was going to help after my last Christmas with my parents. I started to collect pictures, my treasure belongings, and other things to put them in my backpack around my old home over the next couple of months. I should add more details about what happened before the unknown fire started. It was afternoon when I was playing in my bedroom with my horse stuffed animal before my madre walked into my bedroom to tell me that I was going to the basement for a few hours. I got up from the floor and grabbed my backpack off my bed. I follow my mother down to the basement with a sad look on her face. She let me sit on the couch and walked back upstairs to return to my padre. I stayed in the basement until hearing very loud yelling before screaming from upstairs. I heard very loudly that a fire started somewhere in the house and I walked out of the basement to upstairs to be worried about my parents. I looked for my parents through the smoke before getting badly injured from flames. I went into the living room to sit down in the corner of the living room. I held my horse stuffed animal in my arms for being so scared from the flame and hoped that her parents would find her. I start to faint from the smoke before a Shield agent rescues me from the fire. My memories have very little of what happened after I fainted from smoke. After a couple of months of staying at the Shield hospital in Mexico, I'm here in Northern Arizona to see that I have a bright future ahead in my life. I could help you two to learn to speak Spanish, Mexican history, and my family traditions." Rosa said to Kayla and Kate.
Kayla and Kate enjoyed learning about Rosa's family Christmas tradition and Mexican history while they were frosting cookies. Rosa almost felt like home once again when she talked about her family's Christmas tradition with her friends. Kayla and Kate enjoyed learning about Rosa's family Christmas tradition in learning about Mexico. Ikaika and Evelyn brought three mugs of hot chocolate to the three girls after finishing making the hot chocolate. They enjoyed having time together in learning about each other and sharing their families Christmas traditions. Kayla and her friends walked into the living room after finishing frosting cookies. They grabbed their mugs from Ikaika and they sat down on the couch while they shared their favorite Christmas memories with their late parents. Ikaika and Evelyn joined them and shared their favorite Christmas memories with them.

Three weeks later, it was finally Christmas Eve where some of the Shield agents who were allowed to go back to their families for Christmas. Kayla and her friends were enjoying spending time together in the living room after eating breakfast. They enjoy Rosa singing her favorite Spanish Christmas songs while she plays Mexican guitar, being an early Christmas present from Mexico Shield agents. Rosa felt more close to her parents when she recognized the Mexican guitar was her mothers. Kayla, Kate, Ikaika, and Evelyn joined in singing the Spanish Christmas songs with Rosa. They enjoy the rest of their Christmas Eve by celebrating their traditions together in making their Christmas more memorable. Ikaika and Evelyn let the three girls return to their rooms to get some rest for Christmas Day tomorrow after watching their favorite Christmas movie before bed. They return to their rooms for bed after doing final touches in the living room.
Later that night, Kayla was still awake thinking about her parents and what her life would be like if her parents were alive. She was sitting in her window seat and looking up at the clear night sky. She looked up at the bright star in the dark night sky where she secretly wished to hope that her parents were alive somewhere in the world. She believed that she would never give up on her hope that would help her keep moving in finding what she was going to be in her future. Soon she fell asleep in her window seat where she was transported into her dream where she was in a deep forest where the stars are shining bright in the dark night sky. She walked through the deep forest in showing her earliest memories of her early childhood. She walked towards the last memory of her with her parents when she was four years old. She watches her mother putting her necklace around Kayla's youngest self's necklace and saying something to her.
"My dearest little hummingbird, you have to be brave and strong for me and your dad. You are going to stay here for a long time if we don't come back. You should know that you have the heart of archery and have pure ancestry. You have to follow your destiny and future in finding who you are going to be. Me and your father will always be there for you in your heart to help you guide with our wisdom." Kayla's mother said to her little daughter. Kayla finally understands why she was so good at archery after finding the bow on the rock a couple of years ago and why she barely remembered what her mother told her. She falls into the forest ground after watching her final memory of her parents, wondering the real reason why her parents left her at the safe house. She felt a light breeze coming from another side of the deep forest while hearing a familiar voice singing a familiar lullaby. She turned her head around and noticed her parents in the distance from where she was. She got up from the forest ground and ran towards her parents before she was stopped by an invisible wall. Alisha looked at her daughter while she held her hand in Aillard's hand.
"My little hummingbird, I'm so very proud of you for seeing how much you have grown. Remember you have the true heart of archery like me, your grandmother, and your ancestors. You are going to learn secrets throughout your life and find who you are in your future." Alisha said to her daughter. Kayla put her hands on the invisible wall in watching her parents walking into the darkness of the deep forest. She doesn't understand what her mother told her without knowing her life was going to change forever. She walked away from the invisible wall into another side of the deep forest after watching her parents walking away. She looked up at the sky and saw the night sky was fading into daylight when she was walking through the deep forest. She looked down at herself and noticed that she was disappearing from her dream. She closed her eyes to let herself disappear from the deep forest of her dream to wake up on Christmas Day morning.

Next morning, Kayla woke up when the sun was starting to rise from the daylight sky. She turned her head around and saw a very familiar archery outfit next to her bow on her bed. She got up from her window seat and walked towards her bed to put her hand on the familiar archery outfit to remember seeing pictures of her mother wearing this outfit. She finally recognized the archery outfit to be her mother's archery outfit when she was like her age. She was grateful for having something from her mother to be more closely to her mother. She walked into her bathroom to get ready for Christmas morning. She walked back to her window seat after getting ready for Christmas morning to wait until her friends, Ikaika, and Evelyn woke up. She sat down in her window seat and watched wooden creatures walking through the snow from her window. Rosa woke up with the sunlight shining through her bedroom window as she realized that it was finally Christmas Day. She noticed a small red velvet box on her bedside table after putting her family's photo album next to her on her bed and grabbed the small red velvet box from her bedside table. She recognized the small red velvet box from her mother's jewelry collection when she sometimes looked through her parents' huge opened closet when she used to live in Cancun, Mexico. She opened the small red velvet box to find her mother's crystal star necklace inside the small red box. She remembered her mother wearing her necklace ever since she started to remember. She was so grateful to have her mother's necklace after not seeing it for a couple of months. Rosa carefully grabbed her mother's necklace from the small red box and put it around her neck. Rosa returned looking through her family's photo album after grabbing it from next to her on her bed. She opened the locket and started playing familiar music from her childhood. She started crying and letting tears down her face as she felt someone touching her shoulders. Kate wakes up after having a strange dream about her tragedy in losing her parents. She grabs her mother's photo album from her bedside table and starts to look through the pictures inside of her mother's photo album. She was looking through the last pictures of her and parents inside her mother's photo album, before she noticed a middle present was on her desk next to the pile of her books. She put down her mother's photo album on her bed to get up from her bed and walked towards her desk to grab the middle present off her desk. She brought the middle present to her bed and sat down on her bed. She carefully opened the middle present to show the middle wooden chest and she opened the wooden chest to show some of her parents belongings. Some of her parents' belongings were notes, letters, and pictures inside the middle chest. Kate grabbed one of the pictures and recognized the picture of her fifth birthday with her parents. She remembered her fifth birthday was the last birthday before strange people invaded her home. She was grateful to have something to keep her parents spirit alive in remembering her memories of them. Both girls were so happy to have special Christmas presents for being closer to their parents after losing them in different events of their young lives. Three girls went downstairs into the living room to see Ikaika and Evelyn waiting for them next to the Christmas tree. Kayla, Kate, and Rosa start opening their Christmas presents after grabbing them from under the Christmas tree. They enjoy their Christmas morning breakfast in the kitchen after opening their Christmas presents in the living room. They went outside to do fun snow activities after getting snow outfits. Kayla and her friends have some fun at having snowball fights and building snow forts next to the creek. They enjoy spending Christmas with each other in the snow covered forest. Ikaika and Evelyn were making Christmas dinner in the kitchen while they watched the three girls playing in the snow. Kayla and her friends returned to the safe house after playing in the snow in the afternoon. They went into the bathroom to get into their Christmas evening dresses for their Christmas dinner. Kayla and her friends help Ikaika and Evelyn put things together in the dining room. They help Davis and Evelyn bring Christmas dinner into the dining room to put on the dining table. They finally sat down at the dining table and started eating their Christmas dinner together as one big family.

Later that evening, Kayla, Kate, Rosa, Ikaika, and Evelyn spend their evening in the living room. They were giving each other small gifts and treats for being their small tradition in ending their Christmas Day. Rosa grabbed her Mexican guitar and started playing her favorite Christmas songs with her familia. Kayla brings her friends to light candles in honor of their late parents with Davis and Evelyn's help. They finished their Christmas evening by eating cookies and drinking hot chocolate. Kayla was happy to celebrate her first Christmas with her friends after having no memory of Christmas with her parents, like her friends who have memories of their Christmases with their parents. She still deeply hopes in her heart that her parents aren't gone and only alive somewhere in the world.

Four years later, Kayla was fourteen years old, Kate was twelve years old, and Rosa was Eighteen years old. Kayla and Kate were only girls at the safe house after Rosa left to start attending at the Shield Academy after she turned sixteen three years ago. Kayla and Kate get handwritten letters from Rosa every month to keep their small friend group together. Kayla starts getting letters from the Director of Shield since her fourteenth birthday and getting a birthday present from the Director of Shield. Her birthday present was very special to Kayla after learning that it's kept by her parents until her fourteenth birthday. Her parents never got the chance to give it to their youngest daughter after what happened to them. She never even opened her birthday presents after her fourteenth birthday. She put it in her bookshelf for safe keeping. She continued her daily life with Kate and they waited until their sixth birthdays to join Rosa at the Shield Academy. Ikaika and Evelyn were very proud of the fact that the two girls were studying hard to get ready to attend the Shield Academy after their sixteenth birthdays.

Three months later, Kayla was sitting in her bedroom after her lessons with her private tutor and studying with Kate for future assignments. She finished up some schoolwork from her private tutor at her desk before she distanced a familiar voice inside of her mind. She got up from her desk chair and walked towards her bookshelf to grab her birthday present off her bookshelf. She finally carefully opened her birthday present to show a light brown leather journal. She noticed a note on the first page of the light brown leather journal. She read the note while she went back to her desk.
'Dear my little hummingbird, Kayla,
I'm writing in this journal after my mother gave it to me when I was fourteen years old and I haven't written anything in this journal for years. I kept this journal for my children and I was so excited about giving you this journal on your fourteenth birthday. Then me and your father were assigned to go on our last mission to take a couple of years break from Shield to spend more time with you. I don't really know if I'm going to give you the journal. I'm going to give Director Fury to give you the journal if me and your father don't come back from our last mission. You have to stay strong and keep going through your life with us in your heart. I want you to know something that my mother told me when I got this journal from her on my fourteenth birthday.
You have to face your fears to believe in courage to find your fate to what your future will be.
Alisha.'
Kayla let a few tears down her face after reading her mother's message on the first page of her journal. She grabbed her pencil and she went to the next blink page of her journal to start writing in her journal.
'Dear diary,
This is my first time writing in my journal after finally opening my birthday present after getting it from Director Fury on my fourteenth birthday that was three months ago. I felt more close with my mother, Alisha who was the original owner of this journal who was given it by my grandmother. I should write at the beginning of my life. I was brought here to the safe house before my fifth birthday by my parents and they left me here to not know when I'm going to see them again. I still remember Director Fury coming to my room and telling me that my parents are not coming back home.
Three months later, Kate came to the safe house after traveling from England and lost her parents when an unknown group invaded her old home. It's truly heartbreaking to hear about what Kate experienced when she lost her parents from a young age like me. I should write about her looking almost exactly like my mother sometimes throughout our life here at the safe house. Evelyn always talks with Kate about her mother when Kate feels homesick from being away from England. I truly enjoy hearing about Kate's parents from Evelyn who's from England. It was really truly amazing to have a friend who used to live in England.
Two years later, Rosa was the last girl to come to the safe house and she used to live in Mexico before losing her parents from house fire. She tells me and Kate about her life before her house went into flames for unknown reasons. Me and Kate helped Rosa with attending to her few injuries after learning from Evelyn and Ikaika. It's very heartbreaking for Rosa to lose both her parents and her house from the fire that made her leave her only home in Mexico for coming here to the safe house in Northern Arizona. Me and Kate ever imagined how much it hurts to experience such tragically heartbreaking grief like Rosa. Me and Kate helped Rosa get through her tragically painful to be able to find happiness in her life. She taught me and Rosa about her Mexican heritage and traditions. It was a really great life for me and my two friends here at the safe house.
I have my very first Christmas with my friends and my two aunts after having no memory of having Christmas with my parents. It was a really special Christmas for me and my friends. Me and my friends spend so much time together that we were like sisters. I don't know how to put so many memories into a couple of pages in my journal. I would share more memories in other blink pages of my journal later. I should stop writing to get back to finishing my schoolwork for tomorrow.
Kayla.'
Kayla put her pencil on her desk and closed her journal after writing her page. She put her journal into her bag to keep it with her all of the time. She returned to doing her schoolwork before Ikaika walked into her bedroom holding a tray for Kayla. Ikaika noticed that Kayla finally opened her birthday present to be her journal from her dearest friend. Ikaika carefully put the tray down on Kayla's desk and she looked at Kayla to see Alisha's adventurous spirit in her eyes.
"Kayla, I'm so glad that you finally opened your birthday present from your mother, Alisha. I remember her showing me her old journal and she really hopes that she would give her journal to her future daughter. She gave me her promises in her will when Director Fury told me that she and her husband were not coming back from their final mission. I have made some of her promises complete with continuing to raise you and watching you becoming a skilled archer here at the safe house. I want to do something special for you and Kate. I'm going to ask for permission from Director Fury to take you and Kate to see a small part of the outside world next month. I have brought books about Flagstaff from my daily visits to Flagstaff over the past two years. I have let your private tutors teach you about Northern Arizona to get you two ready for your first time leaving the house safe. I would let you get back to your studies and I would be back later to bring you dinner." Ikaika said to Kayla. Kayla listened to Ikaika while she was writing notes in her history notebook and reading the book for her history lesson. She fully understands why she and Kate were learning about Arizona during their history lesson with their private tutors. She looked up at Davis from writing notes on her history notebook.
"Me and Kate were wondering about why we were learning about Arizona during our history lesson with our private tutors. I'm very excited about finally having the chance to leave the safe house to see some of the world. I have always wondered about the outside world since I first learned about it when I was thirteen years old. I spend so much of my time reading every book about the outside world and learn so much from past years of my life. I do know that I will see the rest of the outside world when I finish with great grades at the Shield Academy." Kayla said to Ikaika.
Ikaika walked out of Kayla's bedroom into the hallway and walked down the hallway to the stairs. Kayla finishes up writing notes in her history notebook and enjoys eating her lunch. She cleans her desk by putting her books back in her bookshelf and she walks towards her closest to grab her archery outfit. She walked into her bathroom to get dressed for her archery practice and she walked towards her desk to grab the tray. She grabbed her bow and arrow holder off her bed before she left her bedroom for the afternoon. She walked down the stairs into the kitchen where she brought the tray to the kitchen and she sat down at the kitchen table to get her bow ready for her daily archery practice. Evelyn walked into the kitchen after helping Kate with her schoolwork in the living room. Evelyn sat down next to Kayla at the kitchen table and she could only see her friend Kayla who wore her mother's archery outfit.
"Kayla, I want to tell you that I have helped Ikaika with finding your mother's archery outfit after I returned from my two month trip. I was friends with your mother and I remember her wearing the same outfit when she was at the Shield Academy. Alisha has always believed that you were going to have a bright future since you were born. Now I could see you being so much like your mother in your unique way." Evelyn said to Kayla.
Kayla was cleaning her bow and arrows to put each back in the arrow holder. She looked up at Evelyn while she was continuing to clean her arrows.
"I remembered seeing pictures of my mother when she was my age and I have only heard stories about my mother's family from Ikaika. I was so happy to see my mother's archery outfit on my bed on Christmas Day morning. I have been wearing it for four years since the very special Christmas. I do believe what my mother told me when I was four years old before she and my father left for their last mission. Now I have two years left before my sixteenth birthday and join Rosa at the Shield Academy. I'm going to enjoy every moment of my life here at the safe house before I leave to start the next chapter of my life. I would return to the safe house and I would give my life to help future orphans in giving them the best life. Like you and Davis did for me and my friends since each of us came here after losing our parents." Kayla said to Evelyn.
Evelyn was very proud of Kayla to become who she is and she has been watching Kayla growing up over the past years. Kayla got up from the chair and walked out of the kitchen towards the back door. She walked outside to the archery practice area and started practicing her archery skills. Evelyn walked onto the back porch to watch Kayla practicing with her bow. Evelyn sat down on the porch swing and continued to watch Kayla practice her archery. She noticed a familiar face in the distance and she got up from the porch swing. She grabbed a file off the small table and walked down the back porch stairs to walk into the forest. She put the file on the rock and walked back to the safe house. Kayla enjoyed learning to become a true archer after years of practicing since she found her bow when she was ten years old. She actually felt like the legendary archer who protected her village from threats and dangers from reading books about her. She walked back inside of the safe house after spending her afternoon at the archery practice area to practice her archery. She enjoys having some time with Kate to help each other out with their schoolwork.

Later that evening, Kayla was back in her bedroom after finishing up all of her schoolwork for the rest of the week and had a fun dinner with Kate, Ikaika, and Evelyn. She sat down on her bed after getting ready for bed and she was reading her book about the legendary archery where she remembers her mother reading the story before she fell asleep. She was very young, but she only has few memories of her parents. Soon after she fell asleep after reading her book on her bed, she was transported into the desert next to the small village near the river. Kayla realized that she was inside of her book after recognizing the land around her. She looked down at herself and saw she was wearing ancient clothing. She walked towards the small village and she saw a group of female archers who were riding Egyptian Arabians out of the village. She walked through the small village to hear villagers speaking Egyptian and other languages. She walked into the training area of the village where she grabbed a wooden bow and arrows. She proved herself to the warriors after practicing with the wooden bow. The warriors are welcomed to the army to be part of a special group of female archers. She learned horseback riding from her fellow archers and she joined them on missions for protecting the village. She enjoyed being in the world of her book after reading it so many times. She finally met the famous archer from her book who was greatly inspiring to her as her hero. She learned new archery skills from her time in the female archery group. She learned how this small group of female archers were low class girls from poor families who had given their lives to join the first female archer in forming a small group to protect their small village. She rode her Egyptian Arabian into the desert after fighting off threats to protect the small village with the small group of female archers. She waved goodbye to fellow female archers and soon disappeared into the desert.

One month later, Ikaika returned to Shield Headquarters to ask Director Fury to have permission for giving the two girls the chance to see a small part of the real world. Director Fury gave his permission to let Ikaika take the two girls to the small town of Northern Arizona. She visits her two fellow agents who she gave her report about how the two girls were doing. Ikaika returns to the safe house to give the good news to Kayla and Kate, who were very excited about finally leaving the safe house for the first time in their lives. Kayla and Kate start to pack their traveling bags for their first trip to the small town of Northern Arizona. They were really hoping that they would see their friend again after she left for the Shield Academy. Ikaika and Evelyn started planning the trip by having some surprises for the two girls. Kayla and Kate reread their books to get ready for their trip to leave the safe house for the first time in their lives. Kayla was so excited about exploring the historical sites and Kate was excited about going shopping at local stores. They didn't even know that their lives were going to change after the first time leaving the safe house and going their separate ways after they went to the Shield Academy when they turned sixteen.

Three weeks later, Kayla and Kate were getting their traveling bags into the back of the jeep with being so excited about their first trip leaving the safe house. Ikaika and Evelyn got into the front seat and driver seat after checking around the safe house before they left. Kayla and Kate got into the backseat of the jeep after getting their traveling bags inside the back of the jeep. Ikaika started driving the jeep into the forest out of the safe house location while having Shield agents keeping an eye on them while staying hidden from them. Kayla and Kate were so excited about seeing the famous view from reading the books and wondered about what it looked like. Kayla and Kate enjoyed talking about their plans during the drives into the small town of Flagstaff. Ikaika and Evelyn were so happy to see two girls excited about finally seeing a small part of the outside world. Ikaika drives into the parking garage and parks the jeep after paying for parking. Kayla and Kate got out of the backseat to help grab the traveling bags from the back of the jeep. Ikaika and Evelyn brought the two girls to the Weatherford Hotel where they were living for two weeks. Kayla and Kate were truly amazed at how beautiful and grand Downtown Flagstaff was. Davis and Evelyn surprised Kayla and Kate to share a hotel room in the European Style Rooms at the Weatherford Hotel. Kayla and Kate unpack their clothes from their traveling bags in making themselves like home. Kayla and Kate walked out of their hotel room into the hallway to the stairs. They walked down the stairs to the Weatherford Hotel Lobby where they saw Rosa walking into the hotel lobby. They ran towards Rosa and they hugged her in being so happy to see her once again. Rosa looks at Kayla and Kate with a joyful smile on her face.
"Kayla, Kate, I'm so happy to have my chance to spend time with my best friends. Shield Academy let me go back to Northern Arizona to have two weeks off to spend time with my best friends. Now let's go have some fun together and go do some shopping." Rosa said to Kayla and Kate. Kayla, Kate, and Rosa walked out of the Weatherford Hotel into Downtown Flagstaff to start their first day of exploring Flagstaff. Ikaika and Evelyn walked down the stairs to watch three girls walking out of the hotel to enjoy their first day in Flagstaff. Ikaika and Evelyn walked into the Weatherford Hotel lobby to sit down on the couch. Ikaika grabbed a file from her bag and showed it to Evelyn.
"Evelyn, I was given this file from a fellow Shield agent who was very good friends with Kayla's parents during my time at the Shield headquarters. He is going to help Kayla to get into the Shield Academy after she turns sixteen years old. This file will give us a long old answer about what actually happened to Kayla's parents. We can't even tell Kayla until she is alright to know the truth. I want you and me to go to the graveyard to visit her parents' graves to put this file inside one of their graves so no one will know the truth." Ikaika said to Evelyn. Evelyn looked at the file in Ikaika'a hands to remember her last time with Alisha and she looked up at Ikaika with tears in her eyes.
"Ikaika, I don't really want to know the actual truth about what happened to Kayla's parents, because you know that I'm not so good at keeping secrets. I'm planning to go back to England to return to my family after Kayla leaves for the Shield Academy and I'm going to let you take care of Kate. I have been getting letters from my family and I haven't been able to watch my own kids grow up in a long time. I'm planning to bring my kids to Northern Arizona to get my kids to have a better life. We will see each other again and I will return when something terrible happens to Shield." Evelyn said to Ikaika. Ikaika put the file back in her bag and she put hand on Evelyn's shoulder to give her support. She remembers she hasn't seen her own family for a long time and she only gets letters from them like Evelyn. Ikaika looks at Evelyn with a gentle smile on her face.
"Evelyn, you know that you could leave after this small trip to see your family again. I would be fine with taking care of Kayla and Kate for knowing they are teenagers. We are all family and we could help each other when someone has to leave to return to their own family." Ikaika said to Evelyn.
Evelyn gave a kind smile to be happy for her to be able to go back to her family in England after so many years of being away in Northern Arizona. Evelyn looked at Ikaika while they got up from the couch and walked out of the Weatherford Hotel.
"Davis, you should know how much I want to go back home after so many years of being away from my family. I would be back after a few years with my family in England and bring my kids to attend the Shield Academy in being the next generation of Shield agents. Could you keep me posted on Kayla and Kate? I don't really want to miss anything in either girl's lives and I'm going to come back for Kate's birthdays. It's because I was very close to Kate's parents before Kate was born." Evelyn said to Ikaika.
Ikaika listened to Evelyn while they walked down the sidewalk towards the local coffee shop and they walked into the local coffee shop. Ikaika looked at Evelyn after ordering their coffee and they walked towards a small table next to the window.
"Evelyn, you know that I would keep you posted on Kayla and Kate. I do hope that I can return to my family in Hawaii after Kate turns sixteen and go to the Shield Academy. I haven't seen my family in years since I left home to take care of Kayla, Kate, and Rosa here in Northern Arizona. I haven't even seen my cousins, nieces, and nephews who might grow up and already attend one of Shield Academies in one of the states in the mainland. I should wish you luck on traveling back to England and getting back into your family's life again." Ikaika said to Evelyn.
Evelyn got up from the chair after hearing their coffees were ready for them and grabbed them to return to the table. Evelyn sat down on the chair and she looked at Ikaika while she gave her coffee.
"Ikaika, you know that I could go to Hawaii to visit your family for you. I could help you find which Shield Academy where your nieces and nephews are attending. For now we should enjoy this small vacation by having Kayla, Kate, and Rosa sometime together. We should go find them at the Basement Marketplace where they are doing some shopping before going to BigFoot BBQ for lunch." Evelyn said to Ikaika. Ikaika and Evelyn got up from the small table and walked out of the local coffee shop to cross the street to the main square. They walked into one of the huge buildings where they were truly amazed at how cute and amazing the middle shopping area was. They walked down the stairs to the Basement Marketplace where they found three girls looking at different clothes. Kayla and her friends enjoyed seeing so many different clothes after reading books about them. Kate and Rosa enjoyed seeing fantastic dresses and jewelry in the Basement Marketplace. Ikaika and Evelyn joined the girls in having some fun shopping for helping local businesses. They walked towards BigFoot BBQ for lunch after doing some shopping. Kayla and Kate really enjoyed having Rosa back in Northern Arizona. Evelyn ordered their lunch while Ikaika and three girls found a table in the right area of BigFoot BBQ. Kayla enjoys Kate and Rosa telling Evelyn about their shopping in a couple of local stories. They enjoy the rest of their day with more shopping at local stores and eating at Beavers Street Brewery for dinner. Kayla, Kate, and Rosa enjoy their two weeks of their first time seeing a small part of the outside world. Their time in Flagstaff has finally ended with Kayla and Kate saying their goodbyes to Rosa. Kayla was very excited about seeing Rosa again at the Shield Academy in two years after she turned sixteen years old. Kayla and Kate returned to the safe house with Ikaika and Evelyn after dropping off Rosa at the local airport. Kayla and Kate went back to their daily life at the safe house to get ready for leaving for the day when they leave for the Shield Academy after they turn sixteen.
